I absolutely adore Prague and was pleasantly surprised by the PurPur hotel. The location was amazing and the price was good. The front desk staff was nice, the breakfast buffet was adequate. I think the charm of the city seeps into all aspects of its hospitality. The room was good, but not great. Although the amenities were modern, it never... More

Apartment type hotel. Room was quite small for two people, with a balcony. Clean and warm inside. Great and very helpful staff. Nice ordinary breakfast. Quite and good for young people, couples without kids.

Positive points : - pretty well situated - cheap - beds are pretty comfy -hygiene is near perfect - handy safe and mini fridge Negative points : - NO WIFI OR SATELLITE TV IN ROOMS. As far as I've understood, some rooms do in fact have these things, but you are NOT GUARANTEED them. When we complained three times to... More

In short good budget hotel in excellent location. My room was on the 4th floor but there is a lift to use if you're warn out from walking around beautiful Prague. Wifi was good, dropped out occasionally but fine for my needs. Room was modern and clean, shower was always hot, had a kitchenette and fridge/minibar. Small balcony which I... More

When choosing a hotel for one short overnight stay I made a reservation at Hotel PurPur. Not a bad choice at all, however I was a bit confused. First of all, location is great. Very central location with easy access to the city center (5-10 mins by walk to Wenceslas square). Great, helpful and always smiling lady at the front... More

Pros of the hotel: Location, big beds. Cons of the hotel: Terrible wifi in the room (4th floor), ants around the bed from the first day which were hoovered up but reappeared midweek, old room (especially the floorboards) in need of renovating. Our TV wasn't working, it needed a code, and when we asked the night-time receptionist he said we'd... More

We chose this location to be near our son who was going to school here. The room was moderately priced but the room is a bit run down and the hotel does not feel particularly clean. There is a breakfast buffet included but the food was not fresh and appeared as though whatever wasn't eaten the day before was just... More

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred meters long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theaters. National Theater near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
