Property's Favorite Review
Charming little hotel with good location and public transports. Interior was nice and suited the building. Lovely little garden in the backyard. Friendly and helpful staff, especially the front desk lady. She had a conversation with everyone and was genuine and fun. My husband got sick and we were given extra hour for checkout and a choice to bring breakfast in the room. Breakfast had variety, not a large buffet but enough still. Breakfast was tasty and the room was not crowded, even though we went different times some days. Air conditioner was a lifesaver during those sunny days. Very easy to use and it only took minutes to cool. Fridge was bigger than expected and got our own drinks and beverages there. Tv’s Netflix didn’t work all the time, chrome cast would be better. All in all, our trip here was pleasant and would recommend this hotel to others. I think it was good vibes all around, even other residents were nice.

Booked Prague for a surprise weekend. Was going to book a bigger hotel further outside the city but Very Glad I didn’t as this was so central for getting into the city.
3-4 min walk to the subway & trams which are so cheap.
The room was ground floor which I wasn’t delighted about but it was very clean, great size & newly refurbished to a lovely standard. The bed was very comfy & pillows were great.
There was a microwave, cutlery & a fridge which was very reasonably priced for once 👌🏻.
We didn’t get breakfast included so can’t comment on that as I always prefer to eat out in a new city.
€100 deposit is required at the start of your stay which is a bit cheeky but you get it back on check out but be aware of it as it doesn’t say it anywhere else!
City tax is more then you think so always keep money for the end.
Staff are friendly and helpful.
I would stay here again and definitely recommend to stay in a king room 👍👍👍👍.

Amazingly priced hotel for 4 nights, lovely little find, had a room on 3rd floor 301 - so quiet and peaceful you wouldn’t know you where on a main road, bed was the best I’ve slept in, in a hotel, room spotlessly clean & towel and bedding smelt lovely & clean.
Receptionist happy & chatty on check out.
Would recommend this hotel, lovely little garden.

As Front Office Supervisor in Vienna, I didn´t experience something like that in my life. Hotel Management decided to keep the money from the deposit that it´s mandatory to give at the Check-in , because one pillowcase was stained with a little bit hair color. This is unacceptable to charge 1000 CZK to wash this , because they can clean that without effort. But in Covid 19 times every cent counts.
Thanks for ruining what could be a perfect stay with you.

Dear Alberto, thank you for your explanation. The deposit would have never been charged from the quarantee when it would be only one pillow case easily washable. You have told us that if we charge you for damage, you will write us negative reviews everywhere you can even you got free upgrade and you liked the hotel. We really appreciate when the review includes all information not only partial or half-truth. As you know our housekeeping changed the beddings and towels many times but always were all peaces very dirty with hair dye because your lady was dying the hair during the stay and the red color was very intensively absorbed into the above textiles. We have informed you that in case the red hair colour with amoniak won't be washable we have to charge it as a damage. As a hotel employee you know that hotel bedding and towels must be high quality and is not disposable. Your answer was we should be insured on the damages of our guests and why you should dye the hair at home when you can use "insured" hotel textiles. Any insurance on textiles in hotel does not exist. As a hotel supervisor you are probably informed about the hotel rules and conditions in general and that in all hotels round the world is guest responsible for the damage caused by himself. Unfortunately is your case the damage was much higher than the deposit could cover. With Regards, team Alfons

Stayed 3 nights in this well maintained hotel. Arrived after 10 pm, reception is closed but easy access by using code on key pad and in hallway you’ll find the key in a secured locker. There’s a lift in this old building, everything is neat and clean, decent
size bedroom and shower. Staff is very friendly and helpfull. Would highly recommend
staying here.
5 min walk to metro and tramstop. A small convenient store and atm a few doors down as well as (fastfood) restaurants nearby. Also a couple of bars with outdoor seating in the streets paralel to where Hotel Alfons is.
It’s a 15 min walk to the city centre, but Prague is defenitely a place for strolling and discovering.

When booked, I was approved for an early check in. Upon arrival, was told this cannot happen as they were full and check out is at 12 and people hadn't left yet. I arrive at 11:30. Apparently, they were unaware of my early request even after I had shown them the email and asked to come back at 2. Came back at 2:15, and was told I still could not check in as room was still not ready. Ended up being let in at 3pm! Walked into our room and noticed bins were all full and not emptied.
Room was better than expected, beds very comfortable and room very spacious. Walls are thin and there were a family with children two doors down and I could hear the children screaming and playing all through the day and evening, even though they were in a room two doors down!! I looked outside my room thinking they were in corridor as they sounded so close! Shower door didn't close properly so water got everywhere. Hotel reception is super tiny with no where to sit and wait. Breakfast was ok. Staff were polite and friendly.
Checking in and checking out was a nightmare as told the wrong times for everything, seemed like it was everyone's first day!
Old Town/Xmas markets were a 25min walk away which is a great walk as you see alot long the way. New Town was a 5 min walk from hotel.
Overall, experience could have been better and I wouldn't stay here again as the walls are way too thin and you can hear everything from outside!

Dear Yasmeen, thank you for your feedback and we are happy you liked the room and our beds. Unfortunately the early check-in request was automatically confirmed by the booking.com. We have then send you message via booking that the early check-in depends upon availability of the room and we can’t confirm it. We apologized for this inconvenience as you remember and gave you a little feeebie. You had room no. 304 and in room 303 was staying a family with 2 year old baby just in the same dates. We are sorry they disturbed you. Unfortunately we can’t do much with this because some babies are really really noisy as this one was one of them. We are sorry you felt the checkout is slowly, but when guests prefer guarantee in cash it takes our housekeeping about 3-5 minute to make the control of the minibar in the room and return you the guarantee. We hope you enjoyed the stay in Prague anyway. All best from Prague, team Art hotel Alfons

I stayed here for 3 nights. In advance they gave me information for a parking near the hotel. The staff is friendly and helpfull.
My room was on the backside of the hotel which made it possible to sleep with an open window (there is also AC) .
A spacious room, comfortable bed and a clean bath-room. The hotel looks new, smells good too but still has the charme of a cosy boutique hotel!

Wonderful stay, somehow they managed to personalize the experience by remaining available by SMS even through the full lockdown they are currently facing... the food was wonderful and the hotel itself is much better than the places I have previously stayed in Prague for a similar price. It gets my full recommendation without a doubt!

Upon Booking this Hotel I was greeted by Martina who was amazingly kind and helpful! She made the booking process so easy and smooth while answering all my questions to the utmost satisfaction. The hotel is beautiful, unique and very comfortable!
The hotel is also located in a great area in the city very close to the gorgeous Národní muzeum and within walking distance to the old town. I highly recommend!

I think this hotel may be going downhill. It is inconvenient to tourist sites, the cleaning service was subpar, and they have charges that they don't inform guests about and then add into their bill. I thought the Hotel Alfons was so-so and not worth the long walk. It is no longer a particular bargain either.

Dear Mrs. Stephanie Stern, we are very sorry that you evaluate the hotel with negative review from the point of view that you reserved the room for 1 night less than you wanted to stay in real and we were fully booked. The day you had to checkout till 11:00 you were in the city and you haven’t checked out from your room and you wanted to keep the room for 1 night more. This is not possible when the hotel is fully booked. Because you occupied the room one more day we were forced to relocate our guests that were arriving at 14:00 to another hotel. This made to a hotel financial loss and damage to the reputation of the guest who should have stayed in the room after you. With Regards, Team Hotel Alfons
