Staré Město (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.

This recently refurbished boutique hotel is modern, clean, spacious and arty. The main entrance has a big flight of steps, but for those with suitcases etc, wait and the staff will open the side entrance where you can leave luggage [Level 0] or take the lift to the first floor where reception is. There are 5 levels to this place, small lift, even smaller gym, a garage, breakfast areas, bar and spacious rooms. The rooms are generous in size, as are the bathrooms. Lighting is strange, especially the light switches next to the beds which you have to turn on and off once out of the bed [unless you have really long arms!] There are coffee/tea basics, plus a small fridge with drinks in it for you to buy. There are many European plug points, but no usb points I could see. There is table to work on, plus a comfy chair. Bathroom lighting isn't the brightest but the lighting is in the room is better for makeup application. In my room there was nothing about towel replacements or environmentally friendly practices. My towels etc were changed daily despite them being hung up. They also have face washers, which is uncommon in many places these days. They have a laundry service, which you may think is a lot, but Vienna was nearly triple these amounts, so if you can get laundry done here as the local laundry mats are very busy and don't dry the clothes well. There is a safe in the room and plenty of closet space, but not big enough for an 80cm suitcase [though plenty of wooden floor space]. Room has a couch, bed with separate bedding for 2 and a throw. The pillows are super soft. Air-conditioning in the room is new and needed during the Summer months and the windows open. The mat on the floor slips and is a bit unsafe and would warrant adding a nonslip part underneath. Wifi was secure, but I still activated my VPN service to be safe. There is a tv in the room, but the channel selection is poor. [I wasn't in the room enough for this to matter anyway!] Breakfast: prepared to be spoiled here. The breakfast selection hot and cold is pure and simply outstanding! They even had home made cakes - any left overs were freebies left at the bar for later. [see photos]. The staff were friendly and super hard working. Shout out the lady from the kitchen with the brown bob - amazing person with a great sense of humour! No almond milk after the first day, sadly, so I got used to drinking espressos. The toaster was broken on one side for the whole time I was there - maybe replace some time soon. This hotel is situated within 6 minutes walking distance from Charles Bridge and most mornings from 5.30am I walked around to the main square and along the river easily. Great set of restaurants to the right of the hotel in a little alcove and also in the lane where the hanging Freud is, as well as on the other side of the Charles Bridge. Lots of art to see around the place too. I'd stay there again.

Dear Swelltraveller67, Thank you very much for staying with us during your recent visit of Prague! I was very happy to read your kind, thorough review and see that you enjoyed your stay and found the hotel modern, spacious and clean. I would also like to thank you for the recommendations you made - I will make sure to pass them on to the management. Unfortunately, we do not have any usb plugs but we do provide adapters for our guests. We also have some luggage racks available upon request for the rooms which do not have a place for your suitcase. The breakfast does offer a wide selection and it is great that you appreciated it so much! I will read your review to our breakfast crew as they will be excited to hear your compliments. Thank you so much for your feedback and we will make sure to work on the tips you made - hopefully next time you will stay with us again and you will be able to see some improvements for yourself! Kind regards, Daniela Kraftova Reservations Supervisor

I highly recommend this fantastic new boutique hotel located about 2 minutes walk from Charles Bridge, very central but in a quiet area. We had a superior room which was very roomy for Europe and an extensive modern bathroom. Prague is a charming old city but if you want a relaxing stay, you don’t want an old hotel in the busy, noisy Old Town square. Breakfast was delicious with lots of variety to suit all tastes and diets. We also availed of their excellent transfer service for a reasonable 18 euros from the train station and 30 euros to the airport. We love the dynamic and young staff who will go above snd beyond to make your stay comfortable and stress-free. Thank you Monica for answering all our queries including tickets for Ed Sheeran’s concert and a recommended boutique hotel in Nantes. Thank you also Danita for securing a last minute dinner reservation for us after a scheduled dinner went awry. All these top notch service and facilities are available at rates that won’t break the bank.

We try to have as many options for breakfast as possible, so it is good to read you found some delicious treats for yourself! The best compliment for us, of course, is that you thought the staff was so helpful and made your stay stress-free - thank you! Our staff (not just reception) members work all very hard to provide the best service and create the most pleasant atmosphere so everyone can enjoy their vacation / business trip to the fullest and it is always a good feeling when the work is appreciated so much. Monika and Danica will both be excited to read your review! Should you find your way back to Prague some day, you know we would be more than happy to host you again! The hotel is about a year old. The rooms are quiet, very clean and well lite. Breakfast in the morning is free. The hotel is 5 minute walk to the Charles Bridge and 15 minutes to the Old Town Square. There are some very good restaurants within 2 minutes of the hotel. The staff of the hotel is young, professional and very accommodating and knowledgeable. The room rates are reasonable.

This MOODs is a boutique hotel in the heart of Prague, close to the famous Charles Bridge (there are other MOODs in Prague). The hotel's location is on a very quiet street, but just a block or so from a bustling city street, It is modern, extremely clean, and the front desk staff are multi-lingual. They were wonderful helping us get around - which is challenging in Prague - and nothing was too much trouble. By European standards, our room was HUGE! Double closets, comfy beds, safe, huge bathroom with rain shower, tv if you really must, and AC! There is even a sauna and gym available for guests, and of course a hotel bar offering locally brewed gin. The buffet breakfast had the works, with everything from eggs, fruit and cold cuts to chocolate cake and pastries! Our trip was to celebrate a special birthday and, on returning to our room after a great day out, there was a large box of chocolates, champagne with glasses on a silver tray, and a rose-petal covered bed awaiting me. This all deserved a romantic occasion, (not on the cards), but still what a fabulous and kind gesture from the management and staff.

Situated in old town, you can very easily get lost like we did on our first night. The secret is to not go down the maize of streets into the old town but take the slightly longer route towards the bridge and tram line. The staff were extremely friendly and breakfast was superb. The hotel was only renovated in the last couple of years and rooms excellent standard. The only other tip I have is use the hotels transfer service as taxis in Prague are the biggest rip off if travelling either from train station or airport.

Dear cageykezzastrip, Thank you very much for your recent visit and for your kind review. It is always nice to read that our guests enjoyed their stay - I am happy you liked the staff and breakfast, as well as the hotel's location and rooms. It is indeed very easy to get lost in the city centre - I still do and I have lived here my entire life, so do not worry about it! You are right - our hotel was completely remodelled last year before it was opened in May 2018, so everything is still quite new. Unfortunately, Prague has this problem with dishonest taxi drivers when it comes to tourists. The city is trying to fight against it but it might take some time before these drivers are no longer allowed to do this completely. That is why we offer reasonable prices for our private hotel transfer company - to help out our guests get around. I am very thankful that you took the time and wrote this review and I sure hope that you will come back and visit us again in the future! Kind regards, Daniela Kraftova Reservations Supervisor
