It was an "ok stay" in a 6-bed room with I would say enough room to "move around", and also nicely available were something like a countertop right outside the room (to get some work done) & a small bench at the common area near the staircase. And so, the "only downsides" about this place are its toilets & bathrooms (not together but individual toilets & bathrooms) which are like "the smallest" of those I've seen in many places I've stayed.

But yes, the best part of staying at this place is all in its name which yes is the "best spot" in the Old Town, specifically near the "main street" of the Old Town which likely is its most vibrant part with plenty of all types of commercial establishments big & small including actually some "quaint-looking" row of outdoor vendors at just a very short walk from this place (but the 2 places that mattered to me most being the McDonald's & the Chinese restaurant both at just about a 5-minute walk to the left after coming down the stairs from this place).

When we arrived check in was okay. We were given 3 different numbers to remember on a sheet of paper. One for the front door, one for our room and one for our locker. This could have been a bit more convenient with key cards for the room as it was a 8 digit number to remember! When we got in the room the beds were clean and had curtains for privacy which were great. The beds were really creaky and loud so if you needed to get up at night it woke people up it was so loud! It made me feel like I was gonna fall through. When you first get into the room you aren’t given a bed number you just pick and choose what is available so me and my partner ended up at opposite ends of the room. One of the beds we were given didn’t have a plug as it was ripped from the wall. When we went down to the reception they did nothing to resolve this for us and suggested we charge all of our valuables overnight in the lounge or reception which obviously we weren’t comfortable with. Thankfully we were travelling together so used the one plug in the other bed to charge all of our things. But if you were travelling solo I don’t know what you would do! The receptionist seemed very unequipped to deal with an issue and seemed quite inexperienced. The toilets were a walk down the hall from our room and were cleaned regularly! The showers were not great as they kept turning off after 30 seconds or so and there was nowhere to put your clothes so it was a bit of a struggle to shower. The kitchen was alright as it had a kettle and a stove and was a decent size. Our stay was alright overall. The location was great as it was in the old town. I would recommend this hostel if they change the beds so they aren’t so creaky and the staff had a bit more experience!

our stay at Prague Square Hostel exceeded our expectations. I expected it to be clean and well-run based on other reviews. The aspect that was unexpected was the friendliness and helpfullness of the staff. from check-in to check-out all of our questions were answered and needs met. In particular Ali went out of her way to give us suggestions on places to visit and helped us store our luggage. Ali made us feel welcome to the city offering tips to enhance our stay and left us wanting to come back to Prague Square Hostel. She remembered our plans and helped us sculpt a memorable stay.

Hostel is right in the very hearth of Prague, everything you need is reachable within the walking distance and all the beautiful places are in your surrounding area. The reception staff is very helpful and hospitable, they think of everything when it comes down to your comfortable and pleasant stay here in the hostel, I love them so much and I'm very grateful for their kindness and honesty.
In the hostel, rooms are cozy, bathroom is so clean and also you have a hair drier and soap in there, which is nice and you can get a towel on the reception as well so basicaly you can come to the hostel only with your passport and some clothes which you'll wear. Also to mention kitchen, you have there all neccessities, everything is provided by the hostel so you don't have to worry about that and also the livingroom is also amazing, very comfy and a best place to take a seat and hang with your friends or some other tenants if you are solo traveler just to enjoy yourself. The ambient here is on another level, good vibes are in the air at all times and also the music is very relaxing and beaufiful.
If you ever come here, and I do recommend everyone to do so, this place is really what the name says it, it is the BEST SPOT and I believe many other people know the same. Here you will feel like in a second home, the hostel is a real gem and you have to come here to know exactly what we are referring to. The price is cheap for the experience that you can get here, the reception staff is the best in the world and hostel is in very good condition, they also constantly work on improving it, in all aspects.
It is no more mistery why I felt so much love being here, this is the true spirit of Prague.

Booked and paid a deposit for x2 nights for 13 people on line well in advance of our stay only to be told when we arrived the hostel had changed ownership and our booking did not exist and there were no rooms available, this did change to us being offered the chance to pay again for x1 night at a “discounted rate” (half price) if we wanted it, great way to treat guests who had “pre-booked”. Offer swiftly declined by us as the power of Google found us an apartment in a better cleaner location for less money. Word of advice look elsewhere, unless you’re happy being ripped off.

Amazing accommodation with "best spot", extremely near the Old Town Square, less than 5 minutes walking. The staff is extremely friendly, helpful, and enthusiastic. There's a kitchen with a stove, microwave, fridge, etc. - well-equipped.

DO NOT STAY HERE. The front desk clerk broke into our room and was standing in the middle watching me and seven of my 21 year old girl friends sleep, with the door shut behind him. They refused to refund us. The pictures also are not accurate, it is filthy and eerie. Have never left a review about a place but please do not stay here. We still do not know what his intentions were.

As basic as a traditional hostel should be. Maybe some upgrades will be added in the future.
Really good location and I slept well for 3 nights.
There was also a really nice Canadian receptionist who was very positive about Prague and your stay.

I stayed in this hostel in March (room 403) and I woke up the next day covered in itchy little red bumps, which after a hospital visit once I got back to my apartment in Switzerland, I found out were bed bug bites. DONT STAY HERE! It is now May and I still have scarring on my neck, hands, legs, and ankles from the ridiculous amount of bites that I got. I had to wash everything I own and clean my apartment top to bottom, have an exterminator come, and steam my mattress, just in case one got in my suitcase and I brought it home with me. I spent a ridiculous amount of money on prescriptions to ease the itching, not to mention that it was a totally traumatizing experience and I have a really hard time sleeping in general now because I am so paranoid about bed bugs. The hostel looked so clean and nice and appeared to be the nicest one I stayed in in Europe, and I never would have expected that my bed would have bed bugs. My two friends who stayed with me also got the bites, although mine were the most extensive and covered a huge amount of my body. If you do decide to stay here, definitely check your bed!
