Private accommodation and restaurant on Královská cesta. Did you come to Prague to see the sights? Stay in one of them. Restaurant U Zlaté podkovy Great location, traditional Czech food and international cuisine. Taste draft Pilsner Urquell and wine from Moravia. Enjoy the atmosphere of an old Bohemian pub. The garden is open for you during the summer and winter months. Restaurant and reception are open every day from 9 a.m. till 9 p.m. Prague Castle Apartments - U Zlate podkovy is nestled in Nerudova street in the very historical centre of Prague. The most famous sites such as Prague Castle, Malostranske namesti, Charles bridge, Petrin, are just few minutes walking from the hotel and our attic apartment has a beautiful view to the Castle. Nerudova street used to be a part of Royal Route and it prides itself with charming Renaissance and Baroque houses with cafés, galleries, restaurants, pubs and shops where you will experience the atmosphere of old Prague.
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travelers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
Perfect location near Prague Catsle. Quite place but close to all tourist atractions. Rooms nicely equipped, furniture is not new, but clean and comfortable. Very good service and always helpfull staff.

The good things: 1) Centrally located in the city's prime location for tourists, a ten minute walk from Charles Bridge. 2) Atmospheric building and tasty, all-you-can-eat breakfast, with enough kielbasa and eggs and fruit to keep you going for a long time. 3) Comfortable room, with a nice kitchenette, including a sink, some basic crockery and a small fridge. 4) Efficient, functional reception service, but don't expect extra friendliness.
The not-so-good, or perhaps just things you should keep in mind: 1) A ten minute walk uphill from the closest tram stop, and the street is cobbled. Not great if you have a very heavy suitcase. 2) The stairs to the room we were allotted were steep, definitely not good with the heavy suitcase. Essentially, travel light. :) 3) This was good value, given it's in the touristy centre of Prague. But if I went to Prague again, I would probably look up hotels just a little bit outside the heritage precinct, perhaps on the edges of the old town.

I found the place spotless clean with comfortable beds but I do not recommend staying here during the summer months..there was no air con in the room and I ended up sleeping in the floor in the room for the 4 nights in order to stay cool. Breakfast was good and the staff were friendly and the location was excellent but the heat was unreal in the room. Maybe it would be different in a month like September.

Great location, easy walking distance to most sites. Clean rooms with plenty of space and comfortable bed. Restaurant and bar located in hotel with great food and drink. Front desk staff was VERY helpful and accommodating. Our luggage got delayed and they went out of their way to help us retrieve it over the Christmas holiday. Would staff here again!

First of all, let me make clear that I did not actually stay at this residence, due to overbooking. I had booked six weeks in advance because I wanted to stay near the Prague castle. When I actually arrived at this place, the guy who greeted us told us we did not have a reservation! He acted like we were in the wrong, and proceeded to tell us to sit down and wait, without even a proper explanation. After an hour or so of waiting and frantically calling the booking site (while the staff ignored us and nonchalantly went about their tasks) the guy finally acknowledged us and admitted that they had overbooked. After another thirty minutes he explained that we were to stay at another place, for the same price. After another thirty minutes a taxi arrived to take us to the other accommodation, which was not nearby at all, in Prague 2. So all in all we were mistreated and made to wait for two hours (while we had very limited time in Prague), after which we were brought to some random establishment not even near the Old Town.

We've booked a room in the hotel for our parents that do not speak neither local language nor English. A transfer to the hotel from airport was a MUST requirement,as the Wifi in the room was.
1. Transfer - the driver never arrived. The receptionist was everything but helpful, and provided no solution. Our parents had to find and take a taxi eventually.
2. In the Apartments section of hotel site the Wifi is being mentioned as part of room amenities...but there is no Wifi in the room. To have a Skype conversation with their grandchildren our parents have to get down to the lobby.
Disappointing.

Perfect location, in the middle of Nerudova Street (one of the oldest place in the city), but not in the middle of city center, so not very crowded. Need to Petrin Park.. a very nice place to take a sun on clod morning. and the back of the prague castle.. walking distance to citi center.. just in front of the apt, there is mini store that open from 6am to 11pm
big rooms... I only with my wife... but they gave me a room that can sleep 5 people :-)...
very nice traditional breakfast..

This hotel is in an excellent location, close to the castle and only 10 minutes walk from city center. The rooms are spacious with self catering facilities. Renovated bathroom with shower. Breakfast had a variety of food to suit all types. Good value for money.

Not the worst place we've ever stayed but certainly fell way short of what we were expecting. We booked it based on the information on the U Zlate Podkovy website which has more photos and descriptions of the apartments. Unfortunately, the professional photos on this site did not reflect the reality of the apartment. It was much smaller than expected with cheap mattresses, bedding and decor. The heating was inadequate, especially as it was well below -12 C. The breakfast was among the worst we've encountered in our years of travelling and the staff were generally unhelpful - when they could be found that is. Be aware that it is a tough walk uphill from the nearest metro station, especially with luggage, and the attic apartments (C1 or 2) are up three flights of winding stairs. I wouldn't recommend it.

Dear Franziska,
I am afraid that in the city centre is no free parking at all. There are some places where you can stay a few specific hours, but no 24/7 place.
We hope it will not affect your visit.
Best regards
