Nové Město (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred meters long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theaters. National Theater near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.

It’s stated 5* amenity status does not translate to a “reasonable” performance level. Our visit was truly one of firsts... 1. Our room for 4 nights was to be in a “windowless attic”...which had only a few covered skylights. We were told by the hotel, that these designed rooms are reportedly requested and sought after by Muslim guests for their privacy?? REALLY...why not simply close curtains?? 2. When attempting to book a massage, we were told that we had to first come down and “pre-pay. 3. Our +/- $100E very simple BBQ buffer evening dinner, in their romantic garden dinning area, was to be shared & then disrupted by a very large / noisy wedding...music, speeches & all...till after 1AM. 4. Two “small” Gin & Tonics cost $30E 5. Stacks of clean face towels were found tossed out of the elevator onto the dirty carpet, for use by their morning room cleaning staff...sanitary???...not!! 6. After ordering and then inquiring “several times” about our breakfast porridge status....it never did arrive....after 45 minutes we left. Overall the quite bland food was basic, overpriced, and of poor quality. Service was often dismissive, perhaps due to their apparent lack of English. Our room air conditioning did not work, making for a uncomfortable stay. We were told a major tour compsny Restaurants both beside and especially across the street (2002) offer “much” better service, food and prices!!!

My friend and I went for a drink at the Grand Mark hotel in Prague. The hotel is very expensive but we said we would go for a drink upon our arrival. We arrived around 8:00 PM. The bar was empty except for one other couple. Our drinks were liquorless and our table was dirty. Would not return.

We checked into The Grand Mark Prague when we came to Prague for a night. The is such a overall great hotel that I recommend it to anyone traveling into Prague. It’s very close to the train station and within walking distance to all the tourist attractions. Prague is a small city so you can get around town when you stay at this hotel. Hotel staff was very friendly when we checked in and the concierge went out of his way to help us with a situation we had with a tour company. When we checked into our room we were very pleased with the room layout, the bathroom and all the added amenities that were included especially the Nespresso machine with capsules. We also were greeted with some delicious cookies that literally disappeared instantly. The hotel has a very nice back patio and restaurant and you can really have a nice relaxing evening just hanging out.

This is a beautiful high end hotel with horrible staff in the bar area that make every effort to avoid you and are rude to the guests. Stay here it’s beautiful but avoid the bar. I was shocked to see how rude the bartender was to some guests that asked to sit in the courtyard area for drinks. The face he gave them; and they were not busy.

Hotel is in a great location. Food in Le Grill was very good. Concierge was very good. The hotel is in a great area, but for a LHW it has some staffing issues. Had to constantly go and find someone to ask for drinks while in the lounge, constantly having to ask for hot coffee (unless you like it cold), staff standing around chatting at breakfast. It appears the staff had a could not be bothered attitude. We were made to feel a nuisance just by checking. I think the staff could benefit from additional customer service training. Also, when checking out, we were not given a breakdown of the bill, only a final total. When we asked for this, we noticed items from the mini bar had been charged to us. As we did not use the mini bar and questioned this, we were advised ‘it was the guests before you’ Check your bill and ask for a full breakdown
