I followed the suggestions posted in TripAdvisor and I believe I made the right choice in staying at the Dahlia Inn. Mark the owner is a really cool guy and keeps his hotel in good shape, besides giving you great tips on Prague. Everything works differently from your usual hotel with front desk, 24 hour reception, lifts, breakfast, etc. Instead,...

We had a lovely, modern double room with a great bed, couch and private en suite. The usual host was away, but the two reception girls we encountered were lovely, and extremely helpful. The location is great, very close to the metro, and within easy walking distance of the Old Town and all the good sites. Breakfast is extra (a...

I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights with my friend and I would highly recommend it! The rooms were lovely decorated, very stylish and modern. The location was fine, in a walking distance from the city center and the old town. The building is a bit run down, but as we were prepared to that, we didn't mind it...

My husband and I stayed at Dahlia Inn for three days in November 2010. It had been recommended by a friend and exceeded our expectations, especially for the price. The rooms were clean, nicely designed and comfortable. We lived in Prague for five years before and thought the location was great - a five minute walk to the metro, 15...

We stayed at the Dahlia Inn for two nights. We stayed in room 5 which had two single beds made as a double, an ensuite, television, fridge and wifi. The room was very clean and modern. The hotel is a short walk from the metro which is only two stops from the main train station. We walked everywhere during our...

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights and we can't recommend it enough. It is within walking distance of all the attractions and incredibly cheap. Mark was very helpful and friendly the whole time we were there. The design of the place was very cool.

In most respects, the Dahlia is an average budget hotel. It has nothing to set it apart from others except one thing--service. Probably the best service I have experienced in any class of hotel. Not just friendliness--pure professionalism and good management. They want you to be happy and will ensure that you are. However, you should know that the front...

My friend and I had a great experience staying here. Our room was spacious, clean, comfortable, and inexpensive. The room was pretty quiet with respect to street noise and silent as far as hearing other guests goes. The inn has a computer in the lobby that is free to use. Location was excellent. It's about a 15 minute walk from...

My husband and I loved this place! The reviews we read previous to going were "spot on" - great little design hotel, quiet, good location (just outside the old section but close enough to walk, and across from a beer tavern!), and Mark was very helpful and personable (he let us borrow his Lonely Planet book, wrote out a variety...

A delightful place to stay; close to the centre of Prague, tram and bus on doorstep and mini mart nearby - what more could you want? Our host, Mark, was extremely helpful and we felt like it was a second home as it was so relaxing. Our only quibble - our room overlooked the main street - terribly noisy -...

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred meters long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theaters. National Theater near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
