I found the Downtown Hostel a really nice place to stay. We had a large 8 bed room with a view out onto the street in front which was massive and very airy and nicely decorated. Beds were totally fine and clean. The shower was the only very minor issue as there was just the one outside the room for... More

Had such a good time. The staff is great and it's so easy to meet new people. Don't miss out on the events that the hostel arranges, they're great! The location is perfect and the quality of the beds and a good night sleep is also high. Can strongly recommend this hostel

I recently stayed in the Downtown Hostel with 11 of my friends as part of our interrailing trip around Europe. We enjoyed 2 nights at the hostel in 2 rooms of 6 beds. It is worth noting that this was the only hostel of 7 where there were no bunk beds. The rooms were decorative, with high ceilings, wooden windows... More

I really liked this hotel, it was very clean and the staff were super helpful. I found this hostel unique in terms of organised activities. As a solo traveller, I found the daily organised tours great as it made it very easy to make friends. The beer tasting, in particular, was really good fun! The only downside was the noise... More

I stayed for 2 nights on my first trip to Prague. Overall was happy with this hostel. Great location, close to everything. Friendly helpful staff. My 5 bed female only room was clean but hot and noisy as facing the street with trams. Bathrooms and common areas clean.

Had the absolute best time at Hostel Downtown. Really friendly staff who go to efforts to get to know the guests. So many free or very cheap activities which are a great way to see the beautiful city, meet new people and are a lot of fun. Clean room with comfy beds. Great location and easy directions to get from... More

This hostel is genuinely excellent. The rooms are perfect for quiet sleep and the rest of the hostel is perfect for activities and any kind of information you require regarding Prague. The staff are brilliant, especially Brent and Martin, they go out of the way to help and Brent's activities are not to be missed. I will definitely come here... More

Fir my First ever trip to Prague (for personal reasons), I wanted a hostel where 7 of us can reach safely and have the room and comfort for our 4 days in Prague and this hostel has not dissapointed at all. I enjoyed the Hostel's cultural personality and the room of 8 was huge! A lot bigger than an average... More

Mirek was so nice and showed us all around Prague on a ghost tour. I loved how he told us a lot of local legends, but also pointed out small things that I continued to notice during my stay in Prague, such as the cornerstones or the work of street artists. He was very kind and helpful and answered everyone's... More

If you are travelling alone, or just like meeting new people when you travel, I highly recommend this hostel. It's a very very sociable atmosphere with a fairly wide age of travellers - not just the gap year party animals. I'm a bit older (early 40s), and met some great people on the walking tours (late 20s-30s mainly) who wanted... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
