It did the job for the weekend. Nice view from the room. The building was older, but not in the good way. The front desk people were pleasant. Wifi was very spotty, I mentioned to front desk but she could care less and offered no solution. Across the street, skip the cardboard pizza. Go explore and find the amazing local food in the area. Charming town. Friendly Turkish guys at the restaurant down the street.
The hotel staff were very nice and helpful. The location is good. Our room was cramped with very little room to get from one side to the other. The bed was so low I felt like I was sleeping on a mattress on the floor. The bathroom tile grout was black in places. The room carpet was questionable. We were able to park our car right out front which was great.
Overall it was a nice hotel with average room - it was visible that the furniter and the inside of the room is kinda older yet all was clean. The receptionist was very nice. Only real negative was the "free wifi" which never actually worked because of overload, so I had to use my own data. I don't know if this problem is just in some rooms, yet I had paid for wifi which I didn't actually get.
accommodation met expectations, rooms clean, staff friendly, helpful...the hotel has a lift, nice lobby bar, 24-hour front desk, parking, Architecturally, the hotel is in a period style that I personally prefer.
This hotel is quite nice, room was very big - we had a baby with us so the crib was very useful. The room was spacious and the location of the hotel was perfect to visit the beautiful town of Kutna Hora. Breakfast was all right, having not that great of a selection, but moreover it was always busy so hard to find a table. The kids play area was great for little ones while dining. Reception was friendly and coffee/drinks at the bar were pleasant.
Was very disappointed with this hotel, although the gentleman at the reception tried his hardest. First there was a muck up with our booking, then to find out out that only one night was booked instead of the two we requested. Room could do with an upgrade. Bed was very hard. We were on the first floor looking at the front to the square, which could be a bit noisy at night. But the worst was their internet, which was terrible, dropping out every 30 seconds, so if you need wifi don’t bother! When I complained I was told to go out side and to use the free wifi that the square offered. I didn’t pay to have to go outside! Second l found the shower dangerous, which was inside the bath which had very high sides and had glass half way across which made it very hard to get in and out of cause when wet made it very slippery, I had to get my husband to help me. Breakfast there could have been more to offer for a big hotel there was not much choice and the same both days. Sorry but I would not recommend this hotel.…
This is a hotel from old times of socialism. It stands in the middle of an UNESCO city. It is hard to rich it with your car and impossible to stop a bus near to it. Rooms are old fashioned and no air condition exits there (except open windows). Breakfast is affordable. Receptionists are kind and beer on the terrace is cold. Tourist office is next door as some shops and bars. Churches and other monument are five to ten minutes away. So, you can decide – better quality or this good location.
Hotel je moc pěkný. Velmi milý personál.Super kuchyně. Je v centru města, takže je všude blízko.Doporučuji. The hotel is very nice. Very nice staff.Super kitchen. Is in the city center so it's close to everywhere.I recommend.
We stayed in "Hotel Medinek Old Town" during our two-night stay in Kutna Hora. The hotel is located on one of the main squares at the center of the old town. It is close to almost all the points of interest to tourists except two, namely, the Ossuary (Bone Church) at Sedlec and the Cathedral of the Assumption of our Lady at Sedlec. But, even those two are not too far; a taxi ride (one way) to these two (located next to each other) costs only about four Euros. The balcony of our third floor room faces the square and from there we had wonderful view of the town. The late evening sight of the illuminated tower of the church, that is visible from the hotel, is divine; that of St. Barbara from the special viewpoint, located very close to the hotel, will remain in our pleasant memory for ever. Some of the best restaurants of Kutna Hora are also within 5 minutes of walk from the hotel. The staff at the reception are exceptionally efficient and friendly, always helping guests with a smiling face. The buffet breakfast was also good.…
I got married in Kutna Hora last week and my English family and Friends all stayed at Hotel Medinek. We all had a great time, the location of the hotel is perfect, rooms clean. Breakfast was nice enough. The apartments are really big with great views over the square. Staff were really friendly and understood nearly all English. The Hotel Manager was amazing in helping me arrange a pre-wedding event and organising multiple taxis for the whole group. Would definitely recommend.
