Cafe Havlicek Pension is a family-styled cafe and a boarding house located right in the heart of the historical town of Kutna Hora. We offer accommodation in newly equipped rooms situated in a listed building with a view of the Havlickovo Square, Italian Court and St. James’Church.
This pension is very simple and the rooms are very rustic. The entrance is to a small bar where breakfast is served. The guy who welcomed us was very kind. We expected, from the photos we saw of the pension, a more beautiful and pleasant place. The location is great.

The hotel is situated on a tranquil street in the old town, making all main attractions easily accessible on foot. The room was spacious, impeccably clean, and the bed provided a comfortable night's sleep. The complimentary WiFi was both fast and reliable. The breakfast buffet was of high quality, featuring freshly prepared fried or scrambled eggs to the guests' liking. The young lady in charge of welcoming guests and overseeing breakfast was incredibly affable and helpful. An alert for future guests: The house does not have an elevator, and the stairs to the 2nd floor (rooms 4 and 5) are somewhat steep. If you have mobility concerns, consider requesting room 1 on the ground floor or rooms 2 or 3 on the 1st floor, where the stairs are more manageable. Additionally, while the bathroom area was spacious, the shower in our room felt a bit small in size. …

Coffee and cake was great yet I take two points down for the impolite and kind of rude service of the cafe. For this I will not come back unfortunatelly. Maybe it was just a bad day but I also worked with people on the same position and service is always the main and most important factor.

The Cafe Havlicek penzion is very well situated! The guy that checked us in, is quite friendly and very well informed! He gave us a lot of tips about sightseeing and restaurants. The room is great, warm, clean, smells really nice and is very comfortable. Strongly recommend it!!!

The place was stylish and clean. The service was good and the cheese cake was one of the best I have ever tasted. The coffee was good too. Go here if you want to have a peaceful moment after visiting the beautiful town.

(+) Greetings from Malaysia. Visited in Oct 2016. A short weekend getaway as an international student studying in the Czech Republic. Extremely pleasant and wonderful stay. Love the room and the bathroom. Beautiful town, good food and nice hotel. Still remember downstairs cafe's ledova cava and cakes. They were good. Would love to return to relive the fond memories. The hotel offers much more than you could expect from a penzion. It is quite near the centre and the historical sites and the staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful Also, they speak excellent English, so communication is easy. A helpful tip: if you travel by car, parking on the street could be a problem. However, there is a VERY cheap public parking opposite.

We spent one night in Kutna Hora in Penzion Havlicek. The rooms were very tasteful and beautiful. You could not hear a sound in the night. We had a great breakfast in the Café. I have never had so good scrambled eggs in my life! I highly recommend Café and the Bed and breakfast for everyone!

We stayed over the weekend in this tastefully furbished, quite B&B. Nice breakfast, friendly staff. Definitely recommend! All historical sites are few steps away - St. Barbara church, GASK gallery and Sedlec Ossuary.
