I will always be very happy to return to this Spa Hotel because its services are of the highest standard. I am excited, as is my wife, that the ULRIKA Spa House still offers all the services and balneo treatments today, during the global pandemic Covid19, including two amazing swimming pools, several saunas and great cuisine. The location of the hotel house is right next to the spa colonnade of Karlovy Vary, in a very quiet place. It is a place where presidents and kings can heal.

We told the hotel at the time of booking that we were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary. That is all that it took. They did everything imaginable to make our stay special. Meals, wait staff, housekeeping, spa attendant,reception... all A-1. Even the manager greeted and made us feel welcome.
There were baked goods waiting in our room, we were loaned an espresso machine for the duration of our stay, a --complimentary bottle of wine on our anniversary. Friendly faces and helpful service at every turn. Ten thumbs up.
I would be happier if they had a bottle of hot sauce available in the dining room. There was a $1.00 discrepancy at check out. Not a big issue. Humans make mistakes.

Příjemný lázeňský týden v příjemném luxusním hotelu za přijatelnou cenu. Spousta lázeňských procedur na výběr, příjemný a vždy se vším nápomocný personál, výborná strava. Při odjezdu na nás na recepci čekal milý dárek přímo od pana ředitele a slevový voucher na příští pobyt. Rozhodně doporučuji všem.

Night one ! Be aware if you book through an agent and he/she is not there you will not be checked in!
After almost an hour with a very moody receptionist finally got into the room
Clean but really small for 2 friends to share for 11 nights
Been promised a bigger room tomorrow, let’s see what happens.
Food : really small choice but what I had was nice - fish and veggies
Again the pictures on the website show a large variety but not the case at the buffet diner.
Only tap water and coffee and tea included in the package of the full board ...... no soft drinks offered.
But there was ice cream ;) maybe is a Go easy on the food Wednesday? 😕
Tomorrow- I shall be seeing the spa center and see if the promises of a bigger room and the variety of food improves.

What was supposed to be a nice getaway, turned into a frustrating, horrible experience! The manager of the hotel walked away when there was an issue at the front desk upon arrival. The spa administrator, is the most miserable woman I have ever met in many years of travels. To say she was rude is an understatement. Her negativity and failure to make accommodations for ANYTHING, made this trip a complete waste. The actual spa staff were very nice and attentive, I guess to make up for the administration and management of this so-called spa. 2 of the 4 saunas were not working, and breakfast was a disaster, where they stop bringing out fresh food at 8:45. They reserve their 4 parking spots for 'vip' clients and you need to pay 20 eur/night for parking at a hotel which is a 10 minute walk away. Spend your hard-earned money elsewhere!

A very disappointing stay and not at all what we expected for the amount paid. The staff were very rude and unhelpful, the manager nowhere to be found and no information or help available anywhere.
The spa is inaccessible and an appointment impossible unless you speak Czech - upon arrival at the spa hotel, we were told that there was no one available to book treatments with and no one works past 3.30pm on a Friday even though the website says open until 5pm. We were told, rudely, we had to go to the spa at 9am the next morning to book something. 9am the next day, we go down to the spa and wait for 30 minutes are taken into a small office and huffily asked what we want. We want a massage but all that’s left is two 30 minute slots – we have the massages which last only 20 minutes. Czech radio is blasting throughout the whole thing. There are so many facilities at the spa but no one can explain them or offer access to them - it didn't make any sense.
A number of machines in the gym were broken.
The breakfast isn’t even close to what is described or shown on the website – few options. The buffet dinner also leaves a lot to be desired.
The rooms are not made up on a daily basis – only the bins are changed. We called down and asked that someone come and tidy the room but were told that only happens every 3 days – we were only staying 3 days. No facilities in the room - not even a coffee machine.
This is not a 4* service – this was not a cheap hotel/ None of the staff were interested in helping us – the lady on reception, Michaela, even laughed in our faces, when we tried to speak with her.

I like this hotel ,I ,ve visited it several times !The new swimming pool is the best in Karlovy Vary,the rooms are comfy ,the stuff is polite.
BUT the big problem is the food!Before 2018 it was nice but now I was very dissappointed! For dinner there are only 2 kinds of meat dishes,once there was fish but instead of “trout” it was some cheap kind,for dessert you have one day pie or ice- cream the other day!
If you want to have coffe at the bar you have to ask the waitress in the dinning area!
I presume that there are some finansial problems of the menagment!

Description: I have visited several hotels in Karlovy Vary, but Hotel Ulrika is in my opinion absolutely top in all respects. Great location, exceptional cleanliness, friendly staff and, last but not least, an excellent wellness facility and related spa treatments. Very nicely renovated hotel. Rooms nicely furnished. We had a superior room with a balcony. Large, spacious room, very good mattresses. A couch or two armchairs were clearly missing to make it more comfortable. The relatively large room with only one chair at the desk therefore seemed empty and cold.
The food (we had full board) took a lot of getting used to. There was a bit of everything, but that was it. The taste was OK. Nothing fancy but also nothing special. Coming late for dinner or breakfast is bad. The buffet is not replenished. You can tell from the table times that it is a spa hotel. The sauna area is poorly organized. Nowhere is it clear whether it is a classic nudist sauna or whether you should go into the sauna in your swimming trunks. Every sauna has a relaxation room or a few loungers to relax after a sauna session. No bath towels in the sauna. The large pool with 4 loungers is on a different floor. So there is definitely a lack of a coherent concept here.
The treatments were all well organized and very pleasant. All in all, the stay was very relaxing. We'll be back.
