Objectively, I'd rate this hotel as Average, it's good value for money etc. but not extraordinary. But subjectively, I rate it Very Good - and that's thanks to the staff working at the hotel. From the moment of check-in to the moment of check-out, all my interactions with the hotel personnel were really pleasant (OK, there weren't many interactions as I was out basically from morning till evening, but still...). I immediately felt welcomed and I really enjoyed staying in such a small, family-style hotel, even traveling alone. I felt that they care about each guest individually and really want to make sure guests have a good time. The location is excellent, too, from my perspective - of course, I deliberately didn't want to stay at any of the main street hotels - so staying here, one steep street away from the main street was perfect for me. The breakfast's nice, too. All in all, it's a really cozy hotel, and if my good fortune brings me back to Karlovy Vary, I'll stay here again.…
A relatively small hotel re-built from an apartment building into a very cosy hotel. There is no 24 hours reception, but they can leave keys for you in the locker box outside of the hotel, so you can come late. Hotel staff is extremely friendly and speaks very good English. The hotel has spacious rooms and spacious bathrooms with plenty of electrical sockets for charging your devices. The breakfast is typical prepared food: ham plate, cheese plate, yougurts, flakes, pastries etc. Make sure you try a round pastry with poppy seeds or cottage cheese - koláč. They are local delicacy and absolutely superb. The hotel is located just 180m from the closest well - Vřídlo, which is a geyser well and is pretty spectacular. Despite the hotel is located a bit on the far end of the city it's in a walking distance from all main tourist attractions. The closest supermarket is Billa and it's located 1.4 km from the hotel. If you want larger selection then there is Albert located further in 1.7 km from the hotel.…
This hotel is a real bargain in an expensive area. As other reviews have noted, the hotel is surprisingly close to the “main drag” but is located on a quiet little street. Both our room and bathroom were small but adequate with good windows and a pleasant view of the street. Walking up or down half a flight of stairs from the elevator was not a problem for us. All the staff were very helpful. The bed was comfortable but we would prefer a more conventional bottom-sheet on the bed. (The one they use is a stretchy material, almost like a fine terry-cloth.) And the hotel provides only one very squashy pillow per person. But still, great value in a great location.
Very good location for KVIFF visitors for reasonable price during this busy weekend, close to Pupp (i.e. ticket office 😉). Very good breakfast, clean room and very nice staff. We spent there only couple of hours each day (too many movies 😁), but it was really nice stay.
We had problem with bank card and our booking were canceled without notifying us. So when we arrived it was already late night and we were without accommodation. But receptionist save us giving us room. God bless him! :)
First time visit to Karlovy Vary- check in was delightful with very helpful front desk. Was first time ever I received a note from hotel (booked thru Expedia) thanking us for stay. Exit front of hotel and steps down thru an alley into the heart of the tourist area. Exit rear of hotel and just steps away from the spa forest trails (check out “deer jump”.... a 4 min easy hike). Breakfast is average, served 8-10 daily and included. Some stair climbing is required to enter hotel and rooms and may present challenges to some. Rooms are a bit small but comfortable beds and breezy windows. Cheery decor. Hope to visit KV again and will surely stay at this hotel again.
The location of this hotel is one street above one of the main areas of Karlovy Vary by the river. One is just a 3 minute walk down a flight of stairs and a passageway from the front door of the hotel and, voila, you're there. The hotel itself is old but in good shape with a relatively new lift (elevator) but it doesn't go to every level. (if this might be an issue, check with them to make certain you get the best room) Our room had a minor issue in the bathroom that we informed the front desk about right away. Other than that the room was a good standard: a safe to store valuables, a small TV (coming to Karlovy Vary to watch television?), a wardrobe, a refrigerator, and plenty of clean towels. The beds were soft like a cloud but are good standard. Breakfasts was very good and the service by the couple who own the place was exceptional. They provided really good suggestions and were incredibly helpful for navigating our way to the next destination. I wouldn't have any problems at all coming back the next time I'm here for an extended stay.…
The room was ok,the bathroom was small. The price was 25$. It was hot and we could not use air conditioning because the owners did not give us the remote control with excuses that it was not very hot.
Had difficulties finding this hotel..but it was worth all the haste to be greeted by a lovely smiley receptionist. Friendly family-run bed and breakfast. Room recently refurbished - great bathroom and beds. Breakfast was in a cosy dining room. Very good advice about where to go in karlovy vary.
Super friendly staff made for a very pleasant 3 night stay with our small dog. Cute room with lots of light and back door exit on to little street at rear entrance of hotel where you can walk your dog on trails in the woods. Nice breakfast and we liked the location being closer to nature like it was. Comfy bed, wonderfully powerful and hot shower after a snowy day was worth the affordable room rate alone. We would stay here again if we ever returned to this cute town.
