We stayed 3 nights at the Hotel Imperial in Karlovy Vary. The building is very imposing, you think at any moment to meet Sissy. Also the park is very nice and welcoming. As the hotel is also recommended for cures, the bathroom was not positive. We would have liked a shower, the bathtub was not usable for me and my wife, we are both in advanced age and walking impaired, so could not get in the bathtub. Also the service in the restaurant was not what I expected from a 5-star hotel, so we had to wait on the 1st. Evening clearing our dishes ourselves so that we have room for further food e.g. dessert, some service staff stood in small groups and talked. I also noticed that certain guests drove the car to park on arrival, even the luggage would be immediately received and taken to the room. I had deliberately left our luggage OK in the middle of the foyer, it was not noticed. On departure, the same happened in reverse. I have experienced far better service in hotels with fewer stars.

A wonderful hotel. Quietly located above the center with a large parking lot. After a 5-minute walk you reach the funicular, which is free for hotel guests and runs until 7 p.m. and takes you to the center in exactly 1 minute (!). You can safely leave the car behind. Our room was very well equipped and was on the 4th floor - easily accessible by elevator. It had a great view and had a really huge bathroom with a bathtub. The staff were friendly throughout, especially the tall man at the reception, who was always in a good mood and helpful and greeted every guest politely. Half board is highly recommended, the buffet is varied and well-stocked. The non-alcoholic drinks are even free. However, the restaurant was often quite full and you had to look for a seat for a while, even though it was low season. The staff were on the ball and then opened the next room. Great! The feeling of well-being was absolutely there and we can recommend the hotel in a top location with very good rooms with a clear conscience.

We only spent one night here with breakfast while passing through. The access to the hotel is quite nice, but there is only one ramp where cars pile up and block each other. The hotel does not help you with your luggage or parking. They just give you the location of the parking spaces and leave you to your own devices.
The staff at reception are short-tempered, almost unfriendly and do not speak enough English or German. So far, not worthy of a 5-star hotel.
The hotel is quite old and therefore has its own charm, which we generally appreciate. In this case, however, it feels like nothing has been done to the hotel for 100 years. The rooms are beautiful and match the pictures, large, spacious and clean. The hotel is on the mountain, so you have a wonderful view of the city.
The spa area needs a lot of renovation, it is moldy and worn. In addition, the area is very small and can only accommodate a few hotel guests.
We did not like the breakfast atmosphere at all. You are left to your own devices and have to look for your own seat or fight for it where there are no seats at all. Only the main room was opened, although there are two adjoining rooms. The staff are extremely unfriendly, the coffee is awful and the whole atmosphere is like a train station hall.
The hotel is a meeting point for coffee trips from all over Germany and the average age is 80+.
For the low price we paid, it was OK, but nothing more.

For those who know what the five stars hotel is supposed to be Imperial does not reach this level. Beautiful facilities is the only feature that matches criteria of a luxury hotel.
The treatment procedures are ok but they should be for those prices.
Food is nothing special: standard choice of dishes for breakfast - all you can get in any average 3-4 stars hotel, limited choice of vegetables and fruits, very old coffee machines with only two choices black coffee or cappuccino.
Staff at reception is arrogant and unhelpful. They prioritize one client over another which is unacceptable for a hotel of this level. Spa area is small. One small sauna for both man and woman. I got verbally attacked by another client - man because I was wearing a swimsuit in sauna while everyone was supposed to be naked. As a young woman I did not want to be naked in sauna with unknown man and got verbally attacked for refusing to undress. When I complained about this to a reception guy he told that hotel can’t do anything about it. So obviously it is ok when one client verbally attacks another client in their facilities? I don’t think so. The man should have voiced his concerns to hotel staff, not attack me directly. I have paid a lot for a SPA hotel and I can’t use the only sauna they have because I refused to be naked in a room with unknown man? Nonsense. But the hotel refused to solve this incident so I can get an apology. Obviously, the man who attacked me was more important client for them than me. When I voiced my complaint to receptionist he argued with me and in the middle of conversation suddenly asked if I am Ukrainian? Why in hell did he ask about my nationality? And if it was not enough he then challenged my profession (OMG).
As a result instead of relaxation and healing I got anxiety and stress.
My low grade is primarily due to unrespectful treatment by hotel staff. Unacceptable. Shame

Dear annagavryliuk01, many thanks for your stay in our hotel and for your feedback. We are glad that you were satisfied with the treatments provided. However, we are very sorry that you were not satisfied with our extensive breakfast offer and that you felt our reception staff was arrogant, as we regularly train our staff to ensure the most friendly service for all our clients. Regarding your visit to the sauna, please be advised that visiting the sauna in a swimsuit is not recommended due to possible contamination and there is a sign outside the sauna stating that swimsuits are not allowed in the sauna. This is a standard rule of sauna use. That is why the wellness area provides sheets that can be used to enter the sauna. Our receptionist tried to help you as much as he could and asked where you were from, as he himself is from Ukraine and wanted to communicate with you in your native language! No space was given to him for dialogue from your side. So we definitely disagree with the statement that we prefer one nation over another! However, the receptionist offered you to resolve this conflict with the Czech police, which you refused. You could have filed a complaint and the conflict could have been resolved immediately. It is certainly not alright for one client to verbally assault another and we are very sorry that you had to face such an unpleasant situation. Imperial Hotel team

The hotel should never have 5 * the rooms are with no air conditioning, the beds are uncomfortable, change of sheets every third day! The swimming pool is small and with guests coming in the water with no showering before! They have only buffet dinner and people coming in with slippers and sweatpants! The stuff don’t speak English poorly explanations on whatever you ask. They never smile! If you take a spa treatment the place looks like a poor hospital with the most unfriendly stuff I have ever experienced! I have traveled all over the world staying almost only in 4-5* and worked myself in a 5* in the management. Such a poorly stay in a 5* I have never had before! Sorry guys you need an update to reach those stars!

Dear Mrs Anna N.,many thanks for your review and your stay at our hotel! We are very concerned to learn that your experience was not what you expected, as guest satisfaction is the most importance to us. Our rooms are not equipped with air conditioning, but we do not advertise it anywhere. However, we do have fans available for our guests to borrow on request (this information is also on our website). We are very sorry that the beds were uncomfortable for you. Please, note, we do change the bed linen every 3 days but both the reception and the welcome letter state that this is purely for ecological reasons and if you wish it can be changed every day. Our hotel pool is completely standard and the fact that some clients come without taking a shower, unfortunately, cannot always be influenced. We are also very surprised that you were not completely satisfied with our rich buffet offer. Of course, you could also visit our ala carte restaurant Paris, which offers gastronomy at the highest level or a stylish Café Vienna where you can have a soup, salad or sandwich during the day. We are also sorry that you had the impression of not always friendly staff. Believe that we regularly train our staff to ensure the best and most professional approach to all our clients. Regarding the treatment, please, note, that our spa department provides procedures of the highest quality, and it is precisely for medical stays in our hotel that clients return to us repeatedly. We prefer solving problems on the spot, so you could contact the hotel manager during your stay, who would certainly like to listen to you and try to find the optimal solution for your maximum satisfaction. Please, note, our hotel meet all the criteria and is officially a five-star hotel. Your experience is precious feedback for us, and we appreciate that you shared your impressions with us. Many thanks for your time and the trust you have shown us.Best regards from Karlovy Vary, Blanka, sales department, Hotel Imperial

We stayed five days at the Spa Hotel Imperial in Karlovy Vary. The building is imposing and conveys the flair of bygone times, when there was still such a thing as service. The latter can be found in vain in today's Hotel Imperial. Everything seems like a re-enactment of the neoclassical Imperial Bath period or Art Nouveau. Although the service speaks many languages, the language of hospitality unfortunately does not. There are numerous, completely opaque prices and services for dinner in the restaurant Paris and Prague, some waiters offer you offers for a 3-course meal, which is called a mistake two days later amid loud shouting from another waiter, and we as guests felt that Zechpreller are also part of the middle-class reenactment. Also in the bar Vienna we were loudly suspected by another waiter of not wanting to pay for the drinks. There is an atmosphere of mistrust on the part of the service staff towards the guests. The building and swimming pool alone justify the 5 stars, the pork-heavy food distribution in the Prague restaurant and the service, however, create an unpleasant tension that nobody needs on their holiday.

We were at imperial for 3 days/2 nights with half board. Imperial is a flor located hotel down stunning views. Great nice clean rooms. You get a little Transylvania vibe. Breakfast super good. A buffet dinner is not equivalent to a 5-star hotel. There were missing signs in English and the kitchen staff are very nice, but do not speak English. On day 2 we upgraded to a 3-course menu in restaurant Paris. It costs about 25 euros per person to upgrade. It's worth the money. Thaimassage god. Good guidance in the Savings Reception. However, it was not possible to get a pedicure. She could only a week later. There was no alternative. It was too low. I was looking forward to that. The pillows are big and heavy. You can get someone else on request. Parking costs 25 euros per day. Subway cable or bus No. 2 or 13 can be taken free of charge from the hotel. Nice pool with free towel rental and sheets for sun loungers. Great view of the forest. 2 whirlpools, one of which did not work. Overall a good stay, though not 5-star. But again, we got it with good discount, and therefore fit the ratio of Award and benefits.

The hotel is great, it sits imposingly on the mountain above Karlovy Vary, and hotel guests can take the cog railway to the center quickly and for free. We were there with a tour group, by bus, so it was a shame that the hotel doesn't offer any excursions (Prague is 130 km away). We had a few treatments, but unfortunately the staff were pretty unfriendly throughout. The reception staff were very nice and friendly, the reception at the fitness room was very unfriendly and unhelpful. The wellness area is OK, but for a hotel of this size I think a sauna with a maximum of 9 people is very limited. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious, clean and bright, the food is good, the buffet just repeats itself after a few days. Cosmetics are OK in terms of value for money, 78 euros for a collagen facial, but I found the beautician's claws extremely repulsive and I wouldn't book any more treatments with her because I was tense the whole time for fear of scratches. Conclusion: Nice hotel, nice stay, but I would only travel with my own car, otherwise you can't get away.

it is a very beautiful hotel with a quite good service. The legal measures for corona hygienic is the FFP2 mask. there’s about 10 to 20% of the guests even in the restaurant and not respecting this measure. I’ve seen even some staff members serving beverages in the restaurant where is the mask below the mouth. I must say that from the staff that was the exception. but having guests going completely without mask in the restaurant to the buffet touching things and serving themselves with out mask and without any of the staff members making a remark to them it’s not tolerable for me. I strongly advise you to avoid this hotel during the period where corona infection numbers are climbing up everywhere.

Been back, room tiptop, breakfast tiptop, spa fits, staff friendly. The location of the hotel is just as beautiful as the imposing construction. What really annoyed me: a mini bottle of champagne, sufficient for 2 glasses, cost me a bit unexpectedly 40€. Otherwise everything is fine, we would love to come back!
