Hotel Maltezsky Kriz*** "Maltese Cross" offers accommodation in 12 modern rooms with very comfortable bathrooms and beautiful views. Rooms are bright, airy and provide plenty of storage space. Hotel location does not require air conditioning and desired temperature is guaranteed. Hotel is situated on the bank of the river Tepla (Warm) in the heart of Karlovy Vary. The house was built in 1706 and is the oldest half-timbered house in the whole colonade Stara louka (Old Meadow). On the walls, even after a complete renovation in 2003 preserved the historic wall murals and half-timbered walls. The hotel offers very spacious and comfortable accommodation in almost a family atmosphere with outstanding TAWAN Thai massage.

Detailed Reviews
Perfect little hotel, beautifull exterior and interior, we had spacious deluxe room overlooking Tepla river. Even though we arrived late reception was waiting especially for us till 11 p.m. But you need to tell in advance if you have a late arrival. Breakfast is on the last floor under the roof, very decent, served from 8 till 10. Location is good, on the main street, easy to find, but if you arrive by bus, it is a bit of a walk, as it is on the other side of town. Overall good value for money and good service, would recommend it.

The hotel is situated on the main promenade with no traffic. It is a historic building from 1706, fully restaurated. We had teh room 7 on the 3. floor, superb views, lovely furnishing, bath with shower.
The only thing about the hotel: the breakfast is on the 4. floor, steep stairway, not for eldrely or disabled people.
The town is full of russian, their behaviour is not the best, for example the hotel is not smoking, but you can smell smoke everywhere.
I wondered that also in some restaurants is allowed to smoke during meals!

I was surprised and impressed by my stay at this hotel. When I booked my two-day stay online, I knew the location was good, and the price was right, but when I actually arrived, I was pleasantly surprised by the standard of the room, the cleanliness and the service. The staff were courteous and helpful, the breakfast was very generous and tasty, and I ended up staying an extra night. I would definitely go back to this hotel on my next visit to Karlovy Vary, and highly recommend it to others.

The room is big and spacious. The beds are very comfortable. The bathroom is very big as well. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
We have a late check-in around 12. Therefore, the staff allows us to have a late check-out. The location is good with easy access to the attraction.
Highly recommended. =)

I was lucky to get a room with a view of the river and the promenade, do look for that when you book your stay there! Nothing wrong with other rooms, but the rooms facing the river seem to be larger and have morning sunshine. The hotel is well kept and the staff friendly and helpful. There's a nice 4th-floor restaurant with tables outside. Parking is a weak spot, even though the website says the hotel has parking this is quite far away.

Huge rooms, but the grout in the bathroom needed a very good scrub which made me doubt of the hotels cleanliness. The price is amazing considering Karlovy Vary is so expensive. Breakfast is great. The view and location too. Having no parking is totally inconvenient. The hotel is on a pedestrian street and offers absolutely no parking. The reception closes for the night rather early in the evening and so do all the shops in town. The only option if you get hungry after 10 pm is the lightly stocked mini-bar. The city is totally dead at night. Hence the hotel also is.
At our arrival, the reception was unattended and the front door locked. We had to ring the door bell for a long time for the clerk to come. The same clerk was also not of the best help, not being czeck, she couldn't answer our questions.

Beautiful, excellent located hotel in this wonderful city. Large rooms, brand new bathrooms, and a good breakfast! All the staff was very helpful finding us a place to park (so difficult in many European cities!!)

If you want a reasonably well priced hotel room but stay right in the center, this is the hotel for you. Even though you aren't paying such a high price your staying right between the most expensive hotels in Karlovy vary. The rooms are small but perfect for just relaxing and sleeping, the only thing would be a better breakfast, but most hotels don't offer free breakfast so this was a plus anyways. I would definitely go there again/

We have been living in The Czech Rep. for 8 weeks and thought we better get out and visit somewhere other than Prague. Karlovy Vary was one of the first places on our list.
When looking for hotels we wanted something central but not with the super-luxury prices of Grandhotel Pupp. The Maltezsky Kriz ticked these boxes. The hotel is in a well renovated and well decorated building right on the canal near to the hot springs, Pupp, funicular etc. The service was polite and helpful and the room was large and well-fitted with wooden floors and ceiling and a good sized bathroom.
The breakfast was served upstairs and was pretty well-stocked, contrary to other reviews. The quality of the food could have been higher but to be honest I was happy with the choice and quantity.
I would definitely recommend this hotel as a cheaper alternative to the posh spa hotels but in a great location and great quality of accommodation.

If you go from the upper train station, you must take a bus number 1, 13 or 22 and go to bus station "tržnice". There you take a bus number 2 and with this bus you go direct to our hotel - bus station Divadelní náměstí.
If you go from lower train station, you must go to bus station "tržnice" (it is 5 minute from the train station) and there with bus number 2 direct to our hotel - bus station Divadelní náměstí.
