Detailed Reviews
Spent one night in this accommodation. As others have stated it does feel more like staying in a hospital than a hotel. It just has a very subdued and sterile feel about it. I totally understand that they probably cater to the majority of customers that are either elderly and wanting to enjoy a quiet spa and kur or to packaged tours coming in for Kur treatments. Unfortunately, I think the individual travelers who don't fit either category are going to be left out and probably a bit let down by the stay. The staff were pleasant enough, some a bit stiff, but all for the most part professional. We had two rooms, one with balcony and one without. Both rooms seemed to be in transition. The balcony room had loose tiles on the balcony (there was no grout between theh tiles, just spacers). The non balcony room had a small mezzanine that looked like it could accommodate two more people or kids but the only thing on the mezzanine were two bare mattresses, just looked tacky. They could easily put a bed on the mezzanine and charge more.
Parking was plentiful and cost 3 euros a night (not really sure why, but I guess a way to make a bit more money).
Breakfast. This was literally like walking into a home for the elderly, complete with one gentile elderly man asking my wife to help him carry his plate to his table. All in all, a bit chaotic, and reminiscent more of a retirement community than a hotel. Can not really fault the hotel or the people for that. What I did find objectionable was that every table had a placard with names on it or a placard with a tour agency name on it. We had to literally wander around to find a free spot which we never did find without a placard. We eventually finally just sat down and ate. Again, the individual traveler seems to be an anomaly and not the norm.
The hotel is well positioned and you can easily see the sights of Frantiskovy Lazne by foot from the the hotel. This is the best part of the hotel.
The room was nicely appointed, good WIFI but could use a couple of bottles of water in the fridge. They could also put in coffee / tea making facility (kettle or coffee maker).
Overall, would not come back.

We spent in this hotel 3 days and I cann only say very disappointment. The receptionist said me and my 60 old mother by the check in several times "girls", she was also very interested in whether we are mother and daughter that is unprofessional and unacceptable. We reserved room with balcony but she told us, my colleague made mistake I don´t have it. No apology, no compensation. In the afternoon she smoke at the main entrance. In the restaurant we got allocated two seats next to each other, we asked whether it is possible to have them against each other, but the waitress said that they have their system divided and it can not be changed. From what time sit two people in the restaurant next to each other instead of against each other? I bought this stay as a gift for my mother. I can not belive that this hotel belongs to the company CPI hotels.

Already at check-in the outdated and discordant ambience stands out, Edv in slow motion, staff not friendly and competent. The room: well. In this price range, there is better. The entire equipment not contemporary, shower head in the bathroom with cable ties attached, foreign hair on the tiles, cleanliness isdifferent. Housekeeping is either deaf and dumb or unable to greet guests.
The advertised sauna was already occupied, the swimming pool only opened briefly. Too happy.
The average age of the guests is likely to be over 70 years old, and the general impression of a geriatric sanatorium prevails.
Breakfast at the cat table was accompanied by the loud stories of the parking lot attendant, selection and quality of food far below average.
Conclusion: There are plenty of better places to stay in the area.

Despite some poor reviews here, we booked the hotel over the weekend and were positively surprised. The hotel is clean, rooms large, beds very comfortable, breakfast very rich, there were even scrambled eggs/fried eggs. Fruit, cheese, jam, sausage. Juice and coffee from the vending machine, but still good. It was also replenished continuously. On the day of departure we were very late breakfasts, nevertheless nothing went out.
The staff was very friendly and helpful both at the reception and in the breakfast room.
The location of the hotel is central yet very quiet.
The clientele of the hotel is probably more like 70+, many people with walkers or walking sticks, we were with an age in the 50s more like the younger generation.
Wellness and spa we cannot judge. We wanted to book these (2 months in advance), but could not be promised to us and 1 week before arrival also cancelled.
The indoor pool is small but sufficient for cooling down.
The parking with 8€/day not necessarily cheap, but blocked off for it.

We were there yesterday, checked in and by chance we noticed a beetle on the pillow, so we got rid of it. Then we lifted up the blanket and there was another beetle in there, which ran towards the mattress. When we lifted it up there were lots of beetles, a kind of transparent silverfish, on both sides.
So we went downstairs and told them, the employee was annoyed but gave us a new room. We looked there straight away and there were beetles again and the mattresses were full of hair. So we decided to leave. There was a big argument and we still had to pay more than half because we had supposedly used the rooms. Which can't be true because we were in the hotel for an hour. How can someone be so unfriendly and rude? We can't sleep on beetles...

For the price it was perfect. Excellent and helpful reception, super big room, very comfortable bed and bedding, breakfast was quite ok. 6 minute walk from auqaforum. The town is very relaxing next time we will try some treatments but we would definately stay again.

We spent in this hotel beautifull weeklong stay and it was very pleasant. Frantiskovy Lazne is small lovely town and it is really good for long walks and relaxing in lovely park. It is true there are many elderly people in the hotel. But the town is really quiet. The hotel is elderly and facilities is quite basic. The room we had was spacious but simple include small quite basic bathroom. There is a small swimming poll in the hotel and other spa facilities. Hotel has really good cuisine and a variety of dishes. It is a clean place and staff are really kind. Hotel Fortuna is a place I would definitely come back to and recommend to my friends.

We knew that this town is a spa where older people like to go to. But we did not know that this hotel would be like checking into a home for the elderly, including " communal rooms" for reading and tv watching, a smoking room, live entertainment from 18.00-21.30 etc. Surely all great when you are retired but simply not the right place for younger people. The room itself was also quite basic. Marianske Lazne and Karlovy Vary and Cheb are better options in this area of Bohemia!!
