You can tell that the pension still has a butcher's shop. Original Czech meat products in great quality. Provided us with topped rolls for the return trip.
The accommodation is very clean. It is quiet, although a main road passes by.
The accommodation is easy to find and easy to reach the exit roads.
If there's another Cheb visit coming up, overnight only in this house.
Direct booking with the guesthouse is possible. That's why you don't need the big booking portals where you need a credit card to book.
The pension offers large rooms with free WIFI and free secured parking nearby. Breakfast is served in a spacious basement restaurant.
The area round Cheb is great for cycling. The spas are beautiful, with beautiful pool and various wellness treatments on offer. The prices are generally much lower than in Prague.
Dog friendly.
Breakfast was provided in the restaurant in the basement again good service and a excellent range of choices.
However, the rooms bright, clean and tidy with plenty of space and our towels were replaced each day. Breakfast was served in the restaurant 4 floors down from our room but the owners had gone to a lot of trouble for us, given that we were the only guests ( it being the off-season): English-type cereals, yoghurt and fresh fruit; typical German/Czech cold cuts and cheeses but enhanced with peppers, cherry tomatoes etc; and hot sausages eggs and bacon. A spread more befitting a 3 or 4 star hotel. The owners speak a little English and more German and were very keen to help. Mum even gave us a parting gift. The rather dull town of Cheb itself didn't have a lot to offer in the off-season but our room was a warm bright spot.
Only two slight niggles- bed a bit soft for us, though probably suit the majority, and renovations were going on during our stay leading to thumping noises from 06.00. I havn't marked down on this latter because obviously it would only be temporary, and in any case we like to get up early.
Pension is close to a number of good restaurants, train/bus stations and of course not far from the wonderful Czech countryside.
