We stayed two nights in the suite room 8, the room is large, open plan and with a lovely bath and shower area. The bed was super comfy and the room very quiet. The location is right in the heart of the old town. This cannot be a hotel as there is no reception, you collect you key from a key box, breakfast is served at another hotel some 300m away. The towels were not changed, the beds half made and no replenishment of toiletries or coffee - for a suite I would expect more. Getting to room 8 is up some narrow stairs with low ceilings so just beware and don’t expect any view. For us it was a lovely base, lovely room but we were disappointed there was no service and that included no ability to turn on heaters (even to dry towels that hadn’t been changed). There is lots of accommodation in the old town

Our clients and I stayed in this hotel for one night in mid-May. The hotel charged us 2,400 CZK per single room (about $110), i.e. a 4-star hotel price in Prague. When we got in the rooms, there were cobwebs and dust in many places, some lightbulbs were not working. Our bathroom had hair on the floor… But the worst was yet to come. We were supposed to have a breakfast the next morning at 8 a.m. When I got downstairs a little after eight, our clients were standing there, completely in shock. The dinning room was dark and no breakfast was ready. I went in and found a sleeping waiter on the floor of the dinning room. When I eventually managed to wake him up, he seamed quite hungover and not exactly in the best shape. Since some of our clients stayed in Hotel Peregrin (the same management), we managed to get our clients there and they got some breakfast (mostly whatever was left from the guests in that hotel). When I wrote the owner/manager of the place a couple of days later, she refused to give us any money back, basically saying that we got the service we needed, i.e. a bed and a breakfast, even if it was “complicated”. Apparently, this is how these people imagine services should be in a place where they charge 4-star hotel prices. Absolutely terrible, I have never experienced such bad services and such terrible attitude. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS by staying at their hotel!

This hotel had a lot of charm and character, and was situated right in the heart of the town. We stayed for 3 nights and a nice breakfast was provided each morning. The staff tried really hard to make sure we were happy; the room itself was basic but clean and the shower was great. Everything is within walking distance (necessary because no vehicles are allowed in the town) and the hotel was handy to many great shops and restaurants. Cesky Krumlov itself was the most amazing place to visit, full of medieval history and gorgeous - to me it beat Prague hands down.

Good price and clean, this is fine for one night in Cesky Krumlov. Check-in was chaotic, as this was done by the guys working in the bar, spoke little English and were not very familiar with the reservation system. They tried their best and tried to be helpful, but check-in took more than 30 minutes. The rooms were clean, beds and other facilities average. The location is excellent, but there are many other hotels in the area, so will try something else next time.

The hotel and restaurant are very nice. The hotel has a very nice history. I recommend you ask the people working about the medieval story that is related to the building. Look at the paintings and you will get the first impression of it. Generally the hotel is very cozy and has a nice style.

This is the first time I am writing such a negative review of any hotel and I have stayed in hotels all over the world, from 1 to 5 stars. I want to warn anyone considering a reservation at this hotel to please consider other options first. There are many, many other choices in Cesky Krumlov, and you should not endure such an experience which forever mars your experience in this town. I made a reservation for two nights and upon arriving at the hotel was informed that I had made two reservations, for which I have no record. Management became so nasty and abusive that we had no recourse but to leave the premises for fear of retaliation. Given that Cesky Krumlov is a lovely place to visit, and relies heavily on tourism, I do not share this review lightly. (Also, to note that when writing any negative review on Tripadvisor, not all designations regarding service, location, value are accessible.). There are many other options and I hope anyone reading this review will please be very mindful of any reservations you make, keep confirmation numbers, the site you may use, and to keep records. If I can assist just one other tripadvisor member from the headache and stress of a reservation gone awry, then it will all be worth the effort I have had to endure. Happy Travels to all!

This hotel is neither a four star chain hotel nor a five star luxury hotel but it doesn’t claim to be. What it does is offer cheap (we paid CZK 1700 per night to include breakfast), clean and comfortable rooms in the very centre of Český Krumlov. This is a cheap hotel in an old building; it doesn’t offer a lot of comfort but what it does offers is character. My attitude towards this hotel changes regularly - I can go from it being poor to being “interesting”! Without exception we have found all the staff at this hotel to be very friendly, courteous and helpful. There is always a smile and a hello. My husband is a smoker. Room four at this hotel has a balcony so he is able to smoke without having to go downstairs. (The balcony is also very useful as somewhere to keep milk for making tea in the room - we bring our own kettle as the hotel doesn’t provide one). The room itself is more than large enough to be comfortable with continental twin beds, a wardrobe, an occasional table and two chairs. The beds however only have foam mattresses so they are hard and not as comfortable as I would have hoped. We woke with sore backs after our first night and were in pain after our second. The bathroom has a toilet basin and shower. There is plenty of hot water and that water is at a good pressure. One point worth noting is that this hotel provides only hand wash and not soap. We bring our own soap so it wasn’t a problem for us but, be aware, there is no soap provided for the shower (except for a couple of small bottles of shampoo when we first arrived). Breakfast is more than adequate with various cereals, cold meats, cheeses, fried eggs, sausages, bread and apple strudel. On our second morning we were the only residents and we also got two open sandwiches of cheese, Han, egg, etc. The biggest problem with the hotel is the housekeeping. The cleaner did come in on our first full day to change the towels and empty the bin (there is only one - in the bathroom) but that was it. The beds were left just as we’d got out of them that morning and there was no cleaning or tidying done. On our second morning, before our third night, there was no housekeeping at all. Whilst I would rather have stayed at a better standard of hotel this was the best I could find that was both central and offered a balcony. I would not choose to stay here again despite the advantages of the room and the hotel’s location because the beds are just too uncomfortable but, if I had no choice other than to stay here, I would do so.

Location was perfect. Breakfast was simple but good. Accommodations were not great... they did not clean our room the first day, water was pouring into the hallway from the shower above, no soap in bathroom, limited toilet paper, no wifi in the room, tv was old and had 1 station. Staff was pleasant, room was clean, hotel was advertised as a higher star rating than we received.

This place is small, quiet and presents a very historic feel. Certainly not a 5-star hotel, although the price should give that away. For it's price-point, size and location, the hotel is very convenient, the staff is relatively friendly (which seems to be a hard thing to find in Krumlov), rooms are clean and it's in the middle of the town.

Located just off the main square of the town, this rustic hotel and restaurant is really an inn, that is, a restaurant with rooms above it, so the stress is the restaurant and not in the hotel. It is utterly rustic, with a painted façade, wooden beams construction, wooden floors, large rooms. It would be very economical for 4 people or more per room. However, be aware that the stairs leading to the rooms, specially to the very top floor are curved and narrow and waxed, making it extremely difficult to carry regular suitcases upstairs and down. As you enter through the restaurant, there is no reception, so in order to get your keys, you must go through the restaurant and locate someone from the staff who will hand you the keys and just point to the stairs. There won't be any help in taking your luggage to the room. The stairs are dark and one must press the timed light switch which has a short duration. This hotel is not for people with mobility issues. It is very quiet with natural light provided by the skylights. No soap was provided for the shower and no house cleaning takes place, except for emptying the garbage can. There are no phones in the room, so bring an alarm clock if you need a wake-up call. There is no Wi-Fi in the room either. The shower stall is small but efficient and the room is well heated. It is overpriced for what it offers if you have a room for a single or for two people. The staff could be trained on being more responsive and helpful on the hospitality side. Breakfast is simple but plentiful. Except for us, all the people staying there seemed to be Czech.
