Hotel Dvořák is allocated at the historical centre of Český Krumlov and its rooms offer a unique view on the Vltava River and the magnificent castle panorama. Historical town of Český Krumlov is based in the valley of meandering Vltava River and it was established by the Vitek family early around 1274. The historical centre of the town was recorded in the UNESCO list of world cultural heritage in 1992. The castle of Cesky Krumlov is the most impressive landmark with the round tower. The part of the town Latran is also admired with so-called Budejovicka gate, Main Square with city hall, plague pillar and the fountain. The whole town managed to keep the unique medieval streets with a significant number of Renaissance buildings containing Gothic cores.

All My wife and I stayed here for three nights in mid-September, ‘22. We enjoyed it very much and recommend it highly. It is a classic old hotel set right on the river, just across from the picturesque castle. One of the town bridges is just in front of the hotel, and the street leads to the castle in one direction and to the main part of the old town in the other. We found the location to be very convenient. A short distance away is another bridge with a walkway that leads to one of the town parking areas. It would be possible to reach the hotel with a small amount of luggage, but we opted to park and walk to the hotel before obtaining a town pass to drive to the front of the hotel with our luggage. If you then choose one of the hotel’s private parking options, which we did, someone from the hotel will guide you in another vehicle to your parking area and bring you back to the hotel. Be aware that even with a town pass you can’t drive in town from 10 am to 3 pm, which can complicate departure as well as arrival. We arranged for a taxi to pick us up with our luggage and take us to our car when we checked out to get around this.

Our room (401) was on the corner of the top floor and likely an upgrade from our castle-view room. It was a very large suite with a bedroom area, a sitting area, a separate room with closet and storage area, and a huge tiled-bathroom with an enclosed alcove for the toilet. We had terrific views of the town, the river, and the castle from every room. The sleeping area had a comfortable king bed, a desk, sofa, tv cabinet, small round table with two chairs, nicely decorated a classical style. There was a single cup coffee maker that was very good. The closet wqs large, but had only and few hangers and the safe wasn’t operable. The bathroom had a pedestal sink with adequate counter space, and a shower/tub combo. Our only complaint about the room was that there were no heat controls and it was unseasonably chilly during our visit.

Breakfast was a very good buffet with lots of fruit, cereals, baked goods, eggs, breakfast meats, etc.

All in all, we highly recommend the Dvorak for comfort, location, and character.

What a lovely little hotel. It's right by the river across from the castle. I had a single room on the fifth floor with a view of the castle. It was wonderful. Excellent size, spacious bathroom. The only downside to the room was the thin wall between the single and the double next door, though which I could hear the couple next door playing with their baby. Still, though, it was a small setback in an otherwise lovely stay.
The breakfast buffet was quite good and included some delicious homemade cakes.
I would advise staying here if you go to Cesky Krumlov. Just beware that the elevator only goes to the 4th floor so if you have a room on the 5th floor, you have to take the stairs. (Still worth it for the view, though.)

This is a charming old world small hotel. The room key is still a "key" with a wooden fob attached. I had a lovely big corner room that had one window overlooking river and restaurants and the other overlooking river and castle. I would change a few things in the huge bathroom. The lighting is quite dim for makeup. I have never been a fan of European hand held shower hoses fastened above a big tub with no curtain. The tub is huge and deep if you are a soaker but its a very high step-over if you are an older person. The hotel restaurant is on the river and has very good food. I recommend the pate'.

On our last night the manager made the decision to turn off the heat because we were the only guests in the hotel. No one told us and the room was freezing. When I went to recepce they gave us a space heater for the bedroom, but of course it was some time before the bedroom was warm and the bathroom was still very cold. The next morning on check out, receoce said there was nothing they could do about this. Bad service decision.

Our family of four stayed on the top floor suite overlooking the Vlatava, the bridge and the old town. We had a balcony. The views were glorious, from both bedrooms and the balcony. The master bedroom was large. The Vlatava ran past our suite and at night we were lulled to sleep by the sound of the flowing river. It was delightful. The suite was elegantly furnished. The hotel is ideally located in the centre of the old town, with all the sights close by, as well as many quality restaurants and bars. The buffet breakfast was generous and of high quality. Staff were friendly and helpful. We greatly enjoyed staying there and will return.

At the height of the pandemic's second wave we visited the restaurant of this hotel, which is on a river bank terrace. The service was efficient and polite, although English was not their strong suit. My wife adored her mushroom dish, and my chicken was good as well, although the roasted potatoes were no all cooked. We shall come back though.

Our first impression was good, as they sent a car to find us at the bus terminal when there was no taxi.
Receptionists though were not so welcoming or helpful.
The room was large and had a wonderful view of the castle and river. However, it was not so clean or well appointed and previous guests rubbish was still in the drawers!! There was no refrigerator. It was quite cold weather and there was no room heating. On the second day the room was not made up even though we left a good tip for the cleaner on the first day. When we complained mid afternoon we were told the cleaners had already gone home!! Management didn’t seem to care, although we managed to arrange new towels and water.

Breakfast was ok with a variety of cold and hot dishes. The daytime and evening menu was overpriced compared to other venues.

Definitely not four stars.

My hotel is a gem! Location is perfect just below the castle across the bridge! My room is on the 2nd floor; it has a charming vintage vibe and very nice space with the best view facing sunrise and the river. It has restaurant just next to the lobby with an outdoor seating and the view of the river and castle. Everything inside the walls of the medieval town is walking distance. The castle has breathtaking view of the town and valley; cobbled streets and charming colorful old buildings all around - the town is magical! I am glad I added this town to my itinerary and opted to stay at Hotel Dvorak.

Excellent location next to the river and the castle. Friendly staff and clean comfortable rooms with nice amenities. Very nice breakfast. The cafe had good tea and drinks. My room had a castle view that was awesome at night when the castle was illuminated.

Excellent location and cozy & antique hotel.
I stayed Dvorak for just one night, but it was unforgettable one.
When I opened bed side window, I was so surprised from great castle view and Vltava river which runs aside my room.
I would like to visit Dvorak hotel again with my family to share my great experience.

Due to Cesky Krumlov city rules, no close parking lots or driving in the area unless a special permit or you are in a taxi. This hotel has a special parking lot access which is in a secure and gated entrance with a guard about 12 minute drive (depends on traffic/tourists walking) from hotel. The hotel has an extra charge for this which was not too much as included cab pick up and drop off. Hotel Dvorak is a Great hotel for location across from castle, on river side, could listen to street music from our window, steps away from restaurants, & stores. We stayed two nights and paid for parking so had two free one way cab rides: from parking lot to hotel and from Hotel to parking lot upon check-out.

Hi. We used the train. Reliable and on time. The train staff spoke reasonable English bit do not expect specific descriptions. At the hotel the staff speak English ok. Did not use the bus or taxi service. From the train station expect a 15 min walk to the Dvorak (we used Ggogle Maps).
Answer from Kwassie

The station is 1,6km from hotel. About a 20 min walk, depending on luggage. If you only have a backpack easy trip, but if you have a wheelie suitcase almost impossible due to uneven cobblestone streets. A taxi can bring you to hotel.
