We stayed at the Hostel Havana for few days this summer and we were very pleased with our experience there. The hostel is located just 7-10 min walking to the city centre, which is great to stay away from all the touristic masses (believe me there is A LOT of people) and get a feel of the tranquillity of the city. It has a supermarket few minutes away, and it is also located by the river so don't miss out looking at all the people who are falling into the water from their canoes! To begin with, we loved how the experience started with a little treasure hunt to find our key (since we arrived quite late and reception was already closed) and a delicious cold beverage (perfect to beat the warm Czech weather). We stayed in a twin room which was very clean and comfortable. The shared toilet facilities were constantly looked after and the kitchen offered free coffee, tea making facilities as well as few other breakfast essentials. The hostel provides few outside areas to hangout even at late hours which is perfect when you are a group of people that would like to spend time together without bothering the fellow room mates. Also the hostel offers a wide range of activities that you can book directly at the reception to help you enjoying Cesky Krumlov to the fullest! We would definitely stay there again and thank you to Vlatka and Martin for being such great hosts.

We didn't have any problems finding this hostel. When we arrived, the reception was closed but an envelope with our names waited for us, with a nice message and information where can we find keys to our room. After we checked our room, the host called us and checked if the room was warm enough. She offered us that we can look at another one and stay there if we want to. Which I think was really nice and thoughtful of her. The room was basic but big enough and clean. Bathrooms and toilets also. Wifi was good. Free parking space in front of a house. The location is perfect, you can just walk to the city center. Showers were not working properly - during the showering, you never knew what you gonna get, cold or hot water.

when we arrived, there was only envelope with my name on the door - ok, but when we arrived into the room it was only 16C! we called the contact that was given in the envelope, so they heated up (up to 20C) and then turned off the heating. In the morning there was 17C in the room. there is only one unisex bathroom (for both sexes) with 3 showers (showers are very useless, unless you plan to wash hair - "built in shower") hair on the floor, hot water comes only after few minutes. WI-FI didn't work in room. Bed is stone hard with 5cm matraces. we deceided to stay here because of the good reviews on this site, but frankly,I don't understand how someone could rate this hostel as a five star hostel.. i don't recommend it, find something better.

The hostel is basic but a beautiful location and has a great atmosphere. The management are very friendly and helpful and are especially good linking people up so that you meet fellow travellers. They also have lots of information about places to visit whilst in the area. The location is right by the river near a rafting centre with a small garden. The town is beautiful, like a fairytale, and a refreshing change from busy Prague. Best place I stayed on the trip.
