Very good, cosy, family, historical, small hotel in the center of the city. Great view from the room. Clean big room for three people. Good staff, teasty breakfast. Little discomfort because stairs, when you go upstairs with baggage. Leaking shower in bathroom. There was i little bit staffy in the room in april.

We stayed in the Stephan Room for 2 nights, a lovely spacious room with a view of the river. Its in a nice quiet area yet a very short walk to either the town centre or along the river bank to the castle. Reception was friendly and the reasonable rate included a nice breakfast. We loved the fact we were staying in an old house with plenty of character, away from the crowds but close enough to walk over the bridge to choose any of the many restaurants in the town.

We stayed in the Anna Maria room for six nights and couldn’t have been happier with our choice. This is their largest room, a gorgeous suite with a living room, bedroom and huge ensure bathroom with a large soaked tub and hand held shower wand. I got a chance to look at the other three rooms located on the second floor, and while they were nice, they were definitely much smaller, so if you can, I’d ask for the Anna Maria suite. It really is a lovely room. We have stayed in Cesky Krumlov before at hotels near the town square but we liked this location better because it was much quieter with very little pedestrian traffic. Also, if you arrive by car like we did, it is one of the few places in Cesky Krumlov where you can actually park your car...they have a parking lot just a few feet away from the hotel. However, be warned that the street you have to drive down to get to the hotel is very narrow and I recommend you fold in the outside mirrors in so you don’t scrape them on the walls as you drive down the street...we did that one day! So be warned! As other reviewers have mentioned, the location is great and you are in walking distance of everything. If you do take your car out, you have to get a special permit that allows you to drive in the pedestrian only area. And the police had a road check set up one day so make sure ask for this permit when you drive in and out. There is a small fee for this. The breakfast was excellent! Hot items including scrambled eggs and bacon, hard-boiled eggs, lots of fresh fruit, cheese and cold cuts, pastries and coffee cakes, yoghurt and cereal, Fresh rolls and bread, juice, and the best coffee we had on the whole trip! We ate so much at breakfast that we didn’t eat again until dinner! I highly recommend the Penzion Kapr. The perfect choice for a stay in beautiful Cesky Krumlov!!

This little town is very popular with tourists. I imagine at the height of the season, things can get a little crazy right in the town center. It was such a delight to stay right across the river from the action, without being smack dab in the middle of it. Just a short walk to the main bridges leading into town, the location was perfect! We had the Stephan room in the old house and it was charming. Windows opening up right onto the river view, we could watch the boaters float by. Everything was comfortable (although the room does not have AC and the comforters were typical European down coverlets) we ended up taking the down filler out in order to sleep with just the sheet. The hostess spoke excellent English and was more than helpful arranging a taxi to the bus station. Breakfast was lovely. If we are lucky enough to return to CK one day, I'd be thrilled to stay here again!

The reception was warm and friendly and the view over the water that surrounds the town was astounding. The room was quite large and the jacuzzi tub was a hit. We did arrive before check in time and no one was around so we had to wait. Typically I'd dock them a star for not being clearer about this on their website but honestly we were so happy with it I'll give them a pass. The owner and her daughter do the cooking and cleaning and we genuinely felt at home. There was a common kitchen with a refrigerator for the floor. Being located just outside of town was great. I can not recommend this place enough. Hopefully the prices stay low because we'd love to go back!
