This nice little hotel is a great place for anyone visiting Ceske Budejovice, especially those interested in visiting the old downtown area. The owners are extremely nice, the price is correct and the restaurant by the hotel serves delicious meals and breakfast. The rooms are usually small but absolutely charming and impeccably clean. Nothing breath taking...just right. I stronlgy recommend

Nice small hotel, fantastic surroundings, bird songs, good breakfast, invisible but kind personell, but: kitchen vapours and onion smell from the kitchen beneath the rooms - every morning & every single day! Our clothes and rooms filled with such a strong boiled fragrances! Owner should a.s.a.p. invest some money for better exhausting/filtering system. Spider webs should be also cleaned beforehand. Seems to be little overpriced for this kind of service.

My first visit to this charming town in the south of the Czech Republic. The lady at the reception was warm and welcoming when we arrived and offered a nice larger room on the top floor. The hotel does have its own restaurant facing the small river and park, again the food and service were all very good as was the breakfast the following morning. The location in the old town is ideal for walking tours and the hotel also has its own free parking lot, very welcome when travelling with a large passenger van.

We booked and paid a two room appartment in advance but as we arrived they gave us a cheaper three bed room because they had no appartment left. Unfortunatelly they didn't informed us. We just had to accept it. We didn't received any "sorry" nore a refund! Nothing and no friendly word. "Take it or leave". That is completly unacceptable in my opinion. But we had no choice. Bad service, bad communication but the location of the hotel is quiet good. Not recommended from my side. The Breakfast is very small and not very attractive.

We spent 3 days in this hotel because of big family event (wedding) and my overall impression is a big disappointment. Although hotel is placed in very good area, almost in the city centre, I was not satisfied with the services provided to us at all.
Major points to be aware of:
- staff was unfriendly and was not flexible at all
- it was mentioned in advance that guests will arrive in the morning and wedding will start at noon. However in the morning of the wedding day staff just announced that rooms will be available only after lunch so our guests would not be able to place their luggage anywhere. When we tried to negotiate, staff was not helpful at all, even though in the end we were given the rooms but it should have been provided to us in the main beginning upon earlier request
- coffee served for breakfast was cold
- staff did not treat us as clients at all
- some rooms were dirty and some of our guests chose to stay in hotel Budweis that is on the opposite side of the road, where services were with high quality for almost the same price
- by accident we made reservation for one extra room that was not then occupied by anyone (no one even picked the keys so it was obvious that this room was extra). Staff made us pay for this room even though majority of hotel guests were guests for this wedding.
Overall I really cannot recommend this hotel and all guests were very disappointed.

Response from crankCZ, Manager at Hotel Klika
Responded Sep 16, 2014
Dear Julie, thank you for your negative feedback in English... Since you are from Czech I dont understand much why you write in English but no problem. I have spoken to the reception about your complain and the response was quite different than what you says... She told me that you were not satisfied with the hotel room. You were looking for 3 different rooms and then ended up in the one you liked the most. It is true that the owner suggested to you to stay in the 4 star hotel across the street that would meet better your request. It is clear that 4 star hotel offers much more than our 3 star hotel could handle (but it is also more expensive of course). But we made the most to keep you satisfied. The accommodation for the wedding was organizing different part of the family and they had no problem with our services. Maybe next time you should tell them your needs before they book it and pay it for you to satisfied you completely. The hotel was completely full the day before you arrive. Standard check in is at 2 PM. It was not able to prepare your rooms before noon since all the rooms were full and checkout is at 10 AM. I am sorry about that but the reception told me as well she didn't know anything about your needs to check in before. There were nothing written in the email nor phone calls. The last point is about the extra room... Receptionist told me again that there were no information from your side that the room is extra and you don't need it. We would have been happy to sell it to another people because the hotel was full. Than it is obvious we charged you for this room even if you didn't use it because you blocked us to sell it to someone else. :( For the next time it needs better communication from your side.. Maybe it was obvious but we didn't know about it. You must clearly tell your needs and wishes in advance. It is much better than later on posting your negative feedbacks online. I wish you a good day and more better vacations. Wish all the best to the new couple and to your all family! Take care. Ing. Petr Klika

We stayed in hotel Klika for 3 nights and we were pleased. Pets are welcome for extra fee, we got an offer from the reception that gave us some discount. Hotels location is great and also perfect for those travel with dogs, big park just across the small river. The hotels restaurant in the river side was obviously popular; every lunch and dinner time it was full! We ate there 2 times, food is good and the prices ok. The parking is good and safe, but costs extra.

excellent location.
for extra payment we parked the car in a gated garage over the street.
stuff is freindly, especially Simona which was very attentive and helpfull.
room 21 is extremely small for a couple,
room 20 is triple but the extra bed is inside a "coffin" since the room is under the roof's corner
breakfast is minimal

A Czech friend booked this hotel for us. Staff was professional, helpful and informative. Restaurant food and service very satisfactory, especially breakfast. Secure, close parking. Location great for walking in old town, parks and riversides. Town located in South Bohemia affording excellent availability for day trips. Enjoyed the total experience.
