My husband and I are, typically, a trip planning team. He has his tasks, and I have mine. Usually, accommodations are my job. However, for my 50th birthday, he surprised me with 5 days at Secret Harbour. I had no part in the planning, and he did a great job selecting this as our home base! He reserved a beach front studio, and perfect doesn’t even begin to describe it! We were 10 steps from the beach - easy to set out towels on our selected chairs in the AM or dash back to the room when we needed to. We had a kitchen with a fridge, stove, oven, microwave, coffeemaker and a counter with stools. We made a quick trip to Moe’s in Red Hook on our first morning to get some basics to cook a couple of breakfasts and have some snacks and drinks in the room. That worked out really well. Both restaurants on the property are delicious. We had breakfast and dinner at the beach bar and a special dinner at the Sunset Grille. Other meals were an easy taxi ride away in Red Hook. They’ll call you a taxi anytime from the front desk. It’s only .5 mile away, but the road is dangerous to walk on, especially at night. Everyone we encounter was friendly and helpful…from the greeting and golf cart tour we received from Phillip upon check in until we checked out 5 days later! The property is spotless and well taken care of. We would be return, for sure!…
If you are looking for a great resort, with great food, and on a great beach with awesome snorkeling; then this is the resort for you! The room on the beach was great and has such a great view from the balcony. Although there were a couple small things that could be fixed (bathroom door was sticky and one of the screen doors was messed up some). The food in the Patio restaurant was really good and the drinks from the bar as well. We didn't get a chance to visit the Sunset Grille for dinner, but heard it was amazing. All of the staff were very nice and helpful; especially at the front desk were very helpful at check-in, check-out, and helping to get taxis. Just fair warning you will heard a rooster every morning around 5 AM or so. That was a little annoying, but not a huge deal. We did have 1 issue on our stay, and honestly it was a pretty huge issue. We went out for the day on a boat excursion, and when we came back (around 4 pm) the door to our room was wide open and our room had been services. So, house keeping left our door to our room wide open for who knows how long. I'm sure this was a simple oversight; but we just didn't request housekeeping for the rest of the trip due to this. I don't think this takes away from how great of a resort this is. If we go back to St Thomas, Secret Harbor will be the first place we look.…
Great location, excellent beach. Food was too expensive in the restaurant but reasonable at the bar/pub. It’s off by itself - have to take a taxi or rent a car to get anywhere. Check your room location in advance. Best are rooms on the beach, 4 buildings each 3 stories high. Don’t recommend our Room 111. Although it’s ground level and on the beach the view is 80% blocked by high vegetation. We were there 16 days and they couldn’t move us. Second level gets better views, 3rd level is hot since the balconies are small and exposed. Usually fairly quiet beach except when many cruise ships are in port. That’s when a lot of cruise folks arrive and take over the beach since all beaches on the island are open to the public. It forced us to sit on our room patio to avoid the crowd and noise although it only lasts a few hours in the afternoon when the ships are in port (usually 3-4 days/week). Unfortunately the resort can’t do anything but keep the cruise folks from using resort lounge chairs, umbrella and towels. Nicer than many other places. They are all expensive compared to other Caribbean islands.…
TripAdvisor Outstanding small protected beach offering shade and very nice snorkeling. Rooms are condos, #131 was very clean, spacious, 3rd floor deck provides awesome view, but is too close to the bar and loud compressor fans. I'd recommend 2nd or 3rd floor of the 2nd building. Love that dogs are not allowed (leave your animals behind). The restaurant and grill are very good with great views. We'd come back in a heart beat.
We arrived on Saturday, February 4 and left the following Saturday, February 11, 2023. We stayed in a beachfront, one bedroom condo. Overall, we had a wonderful time and would definitely come back. The condo was very comfortable and the view from the balcony was beautiful. Housekeeping kept the room clean and fully stocked with clean towels and other essentials. We loved the beach and spent several hours there each day. I rented snorkel equipment from Aqua Action and enjoyed snorkeling each day as well. Your beach really is a gem. The water is calm, clear and great for cooling down, swimming and having fun and the views are stunning. We ate frequently at the Sunset Grill and the food and drinks were great. We also played tennis three times and really enjoyed your tennis court. The front desk was able to supply us with rackets and tennis balls. All in all, a wonderful vacation. Thank you for the good times…
We had a great time at Secret Harbour. We stayed in a studio. When we checked in we met Philip, who could not have been more helpful. He did a great job for us with check in and check out, and his positive attitude certainly put us on the path to having a great time. The condo was very well appointed. The beach was wonderful and the bay a delight to swim in. We didn’t rent a car so most of our meals were at the resort. We don’t eat shellfish or pork products but there were lots of choices for us on the menu and the food was absolutely delicious. The waitstaff was friendly and helpful as well. It’s easy to take a taxi into Red Hook, a cute little town with interesting shops and lots of restaurants. All in all, a great place to stay.
Just back from another fabulous week at Secret Harbour! We’ve gone there for 20 some years, often twice a year, and whenever we’ve gone other places (Ireland, Oregon, Nashville, ect..), we invariably look at each other and say “This is nice, but we could’ve gone to Secret Harbour!”. Morning, noon & night the views are amazing, food at the on-site restaurants is so good, and the beach is the best. Love the shade-providing sea grape trees among the palms and the clear, calm water. The condo units have fully equipped kitchens and you can have groceries delivered and put away just before you arrive if you want to do some eating in. We love eating lunch out at the beachfront grill, then relaxing on our balcony in the evening enjoying the view of the sunset from our condo. Ahh, paradise! We’re already planning to go back!…
This was our first trip to the Caribbean and we couldn't have chosen a better place to stay. As soon as we got there the concierge staff began taking care of all our needs. On our first day we arrived early so they suggested we change into our suits and lounge on the beach or at the pool or have lunch at the on-site restaurant while our room was readied. They locked up our bags and we made our way to the Patio for a drink and the first of many great meals. I am not exaggerating when I say that all our meals were outstanding...food, service and most importantly, drinks. Once we settled into our amazing condo we truly felt like we were on Island Time. The vibe is laid back and casual and we just sunk into the most relaxing and stress-free time of our lives. The staff, the restaurants, the on-site dive shop all made it a magical week. We will be back!…
My husband and I have stayed at Secret Harbour Beach Resort, many times, we absolutely love it, that is the reason we always return!! The beach is pristine, the very friendly beach attendants are always willing to help with the loungers, chairs and towels (all included with your stay). The water is beautiful blue and crystal clear. The resort is located on the east end of St. Thomas which makes for wonderful swimming and snorkeling... no waves!! The employees are all so very friendly and are willing to help you in any way. Our condo was a first floor beachfront studio only steps from the beach, it was decorated nicely, very clean and the mattress was super comfortable...great for 2 people. The kitchen was equipped with anything you might need to prepare a full dinner. The bathroom was very nice, clean, great lighting, shampoo, conditioner, body bath and skin moisturizer were all included. Red Hook is only 1.5 miles from the resort. We always rent a car (left side driving) and love to explore the Island or take a short hop on the ferry to St. John. The Sunset Grille on the property has exceptional food and there are many great restaurants close by. We have already booked for 2024 and are excited to have our family join us to enjoy the Secret Harbour experience!! Thank you Secret Harbour, we love you!!…
Wow, very impressive. Beach is beautiful, snorkeling is top notch. We saw turtles, octopus, and many varieties of fish. Parking is free but lounge chairs are $10 each. The restaurant is great with a quite extensive menu. Well worth a visit for swimming, lunch and or snorkeling.
