But I also want people know that this place is heaven for people who likes the beach. We stayed here for 8 nights in late August, 2021. With an 16 and 7 year old. The beach is amazing, right in front of your room, couple of steps away.. and it is just gorgeous. There are all kinds of fish and sea life couple of steps away from shore where your little ones can see tropical fish as well. We swam with fish, squids, sea turtles, sting rays, eagle rays and enjoyed the warm but refreshing waters and colorful corals. The temperature of the water is so ideal that kids could stay in the water all day long without being cold but it is refreshing as well. The rooms are apartments equipped with everything. Red Hook is 5 mins away by taxi where we filled the refrigerator with beer, ice and whatever we needed. There is a restaurant on site with great food but we had breakfast in the room and enjoyed lunch or dinner in the restaurant. Prices are ok, and happy hour has many choices between 4-6 pm every day. Don’t expect the hustle and bustle and annoying entertainment of an all inclusive resort here. If you want to relax, forget about the time this is the place for you. We had an issue with the pull out sofa we had and hotel manager was very helpful. I can’t say the same thing for the receptionist (the older one) who greeted us when we were checking in since she was extremely rude but we didn’t allow it to ruin our stay. We went to St John couple of times and visited beaches from movies. I can go on and on about this place and our experience in our best vacation ever. Please keep it quiet and don’t five away the secret but visit this place. We for sure will again….

Thank you for staying and relaxing with us for 8 days. We very much enjoyed meeting you and your family and look forward to welcoming you back. We love that both your 7 and 16-year old enjoyed the beach and all the abundant sea life and that you found it to be heavenly. That makes us smile - thank you! Glad that you took the 5 minute taxi to Red Hook to stock your refrigerator with refreshments, snacks, and food for breakfast - then enjoyed lunch and dinner in the restaurant - a good combination. We are happy that we were able to resolve the issue with the pull-out sofa and that you will for sure stay with us again. Welcome to the Secret Harbour family. We look forward to sharing more memories in the future. At Your Service,

Secret Harbour is amazing! It is about 30 mins from the airport and only 5 minutes from the town of Red Hook. It has everything you need - a restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch an amazing happy hour with sunset views plus a fantastic upscale restaurant called Sunset Grille that was so good we ate there twice during our 5 night stay! All of the food was excellent. There is a beach steps away from the condos with clear water and no waves. You can go snorkeling, book a scuba tour that leaves right from the beach, SUP and more. We didn’t use the pool because it was too hot but it was nice when we walked to it. Our condo was a studio that was comfortable, clean and nicely upgraded and had all of the space we needed for the 2 of us. The view was awesome as we were right on the beach and we had a private patio to enjoy the view. Our room was clean and so was the whole resort. The staff was friendly and courteous. In general I would highly recommend Sunset Harbour. It was a fantastic vacation!

Great place to stay! I stayed at secret harbour beach resort with my family and friends and it was amazing. We stayed in building 2 on the ground floor which was very helpful because of my bad walking and unable to do stairs. The restaurant was only a few feet away and the tuna nachos was amazing. The guys on the beach was very helpful with making sure we had a spot in front of our room. Towels were always clean and available any time of day. The house keeping staff was very friendly and left the room almost spotless. The front desk staff was very reliable and helped us with taxi and tours. The water action shop provided us with snorkel equipment and plenty snacks for the kids. Did I mention the resort is beautiful and the water is clear! Will stay again

Stayed at this resort from Aug 24-Aug 28 with my husband and two young children. The main reason I am rating this hotel so low is the LACK of security and privacy we experienced.  One evening during our trip, my family went to the beach and I stayed in the room by myself.  Just as I was about to leave the room to meet them, someone knocked on our door and waited about 5 seconds before letting themselves into our room.  At first I thought it was my family but was very surprised to see a male employee NOT WEARING HIS MASK at our door.  Keep in mind, I had a privacy sign on our door knob indicating we DID NOT want anyone to come in.  The entire trip I did not even let housekeeping in our room and opted to clean the room myself every day.  The employee (one we have seen working at the beach and lobby) asked if I requested towels but was NOT even holding any towels to give.  I didn't request anything but was willing to take them, so I said "ok where are the towels"?  He got flustered  then said maybe he got the wrong room.  He knocked on the room next door to us and let himself in their room and I could hear him asking for "Peter".  This entire situation made me feel extremely uncomfortable.  I went to the front desk and asked to speak to the manager, who was of course not available.  As I was telling the woman at the front desk my story, the same employee walked into the lobby and sat down at the desk.  I told her the guy who came into my room is sitting right next to you and he then admitted to it.  She said she would relay the incident to the manager, BUT NO ONE REACHED OUT TO ME.  It is NOT fair that we paid a lot of money for this trip and for the remainder of the time we were there we felt insecure about our privacy. More to add to my review.. ROOM: Upon check-in we arrived at 2:30 pm.  We were told our room was not ready yet and to wait 30 minutes.  This was not a problem for us since we had a rental car we could wait in.  30 minutes later our room was still not ready.  We were told to wait another 5 minutes because the manager was to check that our room was properly cleaned and prepped.   Even though someone supposedly did an inspection of our room, it was not fully prepared.  The shower floor was dirty with hair left in the drain and grime on the floor.  There were no garbage bags left for the garbage can in the kitchen.  There was no bed sheet left on the pullout couch.  There was also no linens left out for the pullout couch.  Overall the room was outdated and dirty. There were rugs in the bathroom and bedroom that looked like they were never cleaned. BEACH This is probably one of the best beaches on the Island.  Very clean sand, beautiful water, and calm waves.  Perfect beach for children!  However there aren't too many chairs and there were times when there were no towels available.   POOL The pool was clean, however the only shade available is under a tree that can fit about 3-4 chairs underneath.  There were NO towels stocked in the pool area.  We walked all the way up to the pool, saw there were no towels, then had to walk down to the beach to get some. RESTAURANT Good food but bad attitudes from some of the workers. Bathroom by the restaurant/pool was absolutely disgusting! I wish the incident I mentioned did not happen because I would have given this hotel another chance if we ever came back to St. Thomas.  The worst part is every time we were on the beach after I reported this employee, we always saw him looking at us.  NO ONE should feel uncomfortable like this on vacation!
