First of all the room was quite big and with lovely view. The staff was polite and helpful. Fortunately there was always hot water and that's all. The room especially the bathroom needs a renovation and the rent price is very expensive, 65€ without breakfast. The only new in the room was the A/C which was very quiet. An other thing is that the drain pipe run through the room and it's very noisy especially at night.

We visited Agistri for the first time on a day trip from Piraeus. We docked at Mylos, got the bus to Skala where the beach is better but then walked back to the port, passing Theris restaurant on the way. We had a perfect view of the bay, and were served with friendliness. This restaurant gives excellent value for money. There is a small sandy beach opposite with a few umbrellas and the whole area was quiet and peaceful when we visited, We will be back!

A rather expensive hotel (of 10 rooms) for the services offered. Not a hotel I would re-visit. I didn’t feel that there is true respect for the customers. 60€ per night (breakfast not included in the price). The rooms are spacious but the furniture is old and the bed mattresses very hard. So you end up waking up with a back ache. The bathrooms apparently have been renovated but should two people want to use the toilet one straight after the other, there is not enough water to flush. Having a shower is a struggle. You either end up with steaming hot or icy cold water. Nothing in between. The owner of the hotel, Mrs Katerina is very good at PR and polite. She doesn’t tire letting everyone know how much she takes care of her hotel. However, when the topic "toilet & shower water" is brought up, her answer is that there is nothing she can do about it and suggests that you take a shower either much earlier or much later than most tenants. The hotel provides sunbeds for the beach right underneath the hotel. However, most tenants make sure that they put towels on the sunbeds early on, so by 10am there is no sunbed available. There are 9 proper sunbeds piled one on top of the other at the back of the hotel. When I told Mrs Katerina that there are no sunbeds left on the beach and that I would like her to give us two of those in the back, she said 'leave these alone, I 'll give you another pair'. The other pair proved to be two zero gravity chairs that were a struggle to use as sunbeds. Ultimately, for the remaining of our holiday we went to a different beach 100m down the same road, with luxurious sunbeds, owned and provided by a cafe. All you had to pay for their use, was a cup of coffee served with a bottle of water. And you could stay for as long as you liked. The hotel’s restaurant’s food is average to good and reasonably priced. However, when you rent your rooms for 60€ a night and breakfast is not even included, perhaps the prices of the food should be a little lower. The staff (Jordan who serves and Dimitra who prepares the food), polite and pleasant but generally speaking the service is rather slow, probably because more staff is needed.

Hotel Theris is a superb choice for a relaxing, quiet holiday on a beautiful island. It is easy to get to via an express bus from Athens airport to Piraeus and a 1 hour hydrofoil boat trip. The lack of an airport on the island seems to deter the types you would not want to holiday with perhaps. Katrina and her team are utterly charming and extremely helpful in every way. The place is clean and with it's own taverna which is lovely. There are plenty other tavernas nearby to choose from as well. Our room was a typical self catering studio with a balcony looking directly over the sea, (no buildings in front) and the view is magnificent. The beach is just a 5metre strip of sand with complimentary sun umbarellas directly infront of the hotel. Skala, the main resort is a 20 minute walk away and that is where the ATM is. There is bus service that will take you there or to the other side of the island which is very pretty. Aegina island is just a 20 minute hydrofoil trip away and well worth a couple of visits.

My partner and I visit this taverna every year when we visit Agistri. This year is no exception. Jordani and his wife now run the restaurant after George and his wife Katerina have taken a back seat. They are all lovely people and will do anything for you. The food is excellent as already the prices. It’s a must to visit. Well recommended. Also a great beachfront hotel to stay.
