Nasama Resort earns rave reviews for its serene atmosphere, particularly the Three Pigs restaurant with its acclaimed wood-fired pizzas and the infinity pool that captivates guests with its marine surroundings. The service is generally lauded for the staff's friendliness and efficiency, although there are occasional remarks about slower restaurant service. We have recently returned from our 8th stay at Nasama Resort. As in previous visits the resort met and exceeded all our needs and expectations. Nasama is situated just out of town, but local buses pass by constantly, so it is easy to get to town or the nearby supermarket. There is also a little store just opposite for basics.
We always stay in the same apartment (109) and as previously, the room was clean and welcoming when we arrived. The rooms have everything you need, including cooking facilities. The rooms are serviced daily, and the housekeeping staff are tremendous - nothing is ever too much trouble. it is always great to be able to chat while they work and to pick up tips about where to visit and to learn about local customs. We would especially like to thank Sherelyn and Serena who's happy, smiling faces made us feel particularly welcome.
The grounds and surrounding pool area were kept neat and tidy. Again, it was great to chat to the gardeners about specific plants and trees and I found them keen to pass on local knowledge.
The reception staff are always available for help and advice, and we thank them for looking after us on our many stays.
There are two onsite restaurants.
Daily breakfast at Cafe Vila is included in the room rate and there is a great range of items to choose from. Fresh squeezed juices and espresso coffee are extra, but very reasonably priced.
We chose to dine at Cafe Vila most nights as the food is of a very high standard. Chef Eroni and the kitchen team should be proud of the quality, quantity and presentation of all meals produced including vegetarian and vegan options. Prices are about the same as equivalent restaurants in Australia. The front of house restaurant team are so friendly and helpful and make every meal memorable. Special thanks to Serah, Elizabeth, Cookslie and Melody.
We return to Vanuatu, and Nasama Resort in particular, every year because of the wonderful Ni Vanuatu. Happy, friendly and always smiling.
Can't wait till our next visit :)

We love staying at Nasama Resort, so peaceful and relaxing and just a short drive from Port Vila. The staff are so friendly, helpful and kind. We stayed in an Oceanfront Suite, which was spacious, very clean and comfortable with stunning ocean views, was lovely to fall to sleep with the sound of the waves. The choice of the included daily breakfast was amazing. We stayed a little longer due to the issues with Air Vanuatu and cancelled flights. Nasama was very kind to offer discounted room rates to help those who were stranded. The infinity pool , is so inviting, as is the lagoon out front at low tide. The two restaurants on site, Cafe Vila and Three Pigs served delicious food. The wood fired pizzas at the Three Pigs is the best I have ever tasted

When we arrived, the receptionist was already outside waiting for us.
The property is slightly aged, but very neat & clean. Our 2BR did not have a spec of dust and the air-con was already on when we walked in, which was nice.
The pool area was nice with chairs / umbrellas.
My kids & husband went kayaking, but the sea was choppy, so they came back quickly.
We swam in the sea and saw lots of sea cucumbers, NOTE bring aqua shoes as the beach is very rocky and sharp for little feet.
A-la-carte breakfast was great, my kids loved the pancakes & bacon, and I had the acai bowl or massive brekkie burger.
Location wise, it's not walking distance to anything, will need to catch the bus for VT150 each way, to the supermarket or into town. There's a convenience store across the road, but a bit pricey.
If you're there on a Friday, make sure to book a table at The Beach Bar for dinner and the fire show. We had to pay VT1000 for the return bus ride, but the food & drinks were reasonably priced and the fire show hightly recommended!
Overall a nice stay.

Pros - The resort is in a great location with the 2 restaurants onsite offering delicious meals, and a convenience store across the road. The snorkelling /swimming at the beach was nice, but need high tide to do so. Also need high tide to use kayaks, so this has limitations.
Having a washing machine to use was super handy and each room has a clothes airer. Laundry powder is supplied which is also handy. Each room has an umbrella in case of rain. Very thoughtful!
The ladies who service the rooms each day do a fabulous job !
There are a few bus drivers who seem to be always at the entrance of the resort to take you wherever you like. The staff at the resort are super friendly.
The air conditioner works really well 😃
The WiFi was perfect, no dramas with using it or it dropping out.

Cons - There was no smoke alarm in our room. The bracket was there but not the actual alarm.
The shower in our room had a significant leak, requiring us to put a bathmat down to catch the water seeping out otherwise most of the bathroom floor would be very wet. There was some “silicone” of some sort as a repair in the corner of the shower but obviously the issue was not fixed.
The hot water was hit and miss. The resort does state its run by solar and if it’s been a cloudy day and the water isn’t warm enough you can ask for it to be boosted, however, once your in the shower it’s kind of too late to do this.
The breakfast was delicious, but it is a limited menu and if you want anything different/extra you have to pay, including if you’d like a second coffee . Breakfast is allocated to 1 drink ( hot or cold) and 1 of the meals on the menu. It is not a buffet situation.
We used the air con every night as it was quite hot and muggy. The aircon gave the room a musty smell which we were not aware of until we left the room and came back in later. It was quite strong but you can’t smell it at the time.
The resort is right next to a village. The locals in there are quiet, however, like other villages, they do burn stuff (rubbish) every night /day so when this occurs the air smells quite smoky - not ideal for people who suffer with asthma /respiratory issues as it’s quite strong when it is happening being right beside the resort.

Overall we did enjoy our stay, it’s a nice spot with easy access to town and attractions..

Dear Debbie, Thank you for sharing your review of your recent stay at Nasama Resort. We’re glad you enjoyed your time with us, and that our housekeeping team and staff made your stay comfortable. Since your feedback, we’ve replaced the smoke alarm, repaired the shower leak, and addressed the musty aircon smell with our maintenance team. We're also happy you enjoyed the breakfast—our chef works hard to deliver high-quality dishes. Please note that the breakfast is advertised as a hot ala carte breakfast and includes one hot and one cold drink, our drip coffee is unlimited, so feel free to ask for refills next time. We appreciate your feedback and look forward to welcoming you back soon. Tropical regards, The Nasama Resort Team

We returned to Nasama Resort in August for our 7th stay. We return to Nasama every time because it suits our needs, namely great comfortable apartments, quiet and relaxed atmosphere and fabulous staff.
The apartments have everything you need if you choose to self cater (no need when there are two fantastic restaurants on site), comfortable beds and beautiful views. The housekeeping team are so attentive - rooms cleaned to a high standard daily and all requests promptly attended to.
The resort is a little out of town with plentiful transport at the front entrance. Just hail a bus and they will take you anywhere. The supermarket is close by and has everything you might need - equivalent to a supermarket in Australia.
The notable improvement over our many visits is the standard of food at Cafe Vila. The breakfast and dinner menus have plenty of variety with vegetarian and vegan options available, with good size servings at a reasonable price. In previous visits we have gone to other restaurants in town (and there are plenty of great ones) but this visit we dined nearly every night at Cafe Vila.
The front of house staff are so cheerful and friendly and we would like to thank Serah, Anna and Cooksie for their professional and attentive service.
Already looking forward to returning in 2024!

If you are seeking a wind down, chill out, easy, friendly, helpful, clean and relaxing holiday destination then this is it.
Nasama isn't a pumping holiday place, it's a family friendly, low key, chilled out resort. Excellent food options between Three Pigs and Cafe Vila managed by the amazing Anna, the food is fresh and fulfilling and if high quality. Cocktails at the bar in the evening, take a beer by the pool, or snorkel in ocean pool. All amazing. You can organize your tours at the front desk, must see is Blue Lagoon, Rantapao River, Rarru Falls, Tanna Coffee and the Chocolate factory. Recommend Holidaymakers tours, ask for Eileen.
Rooms at Nasama are well appointed, cleaned regularly, comfortable and self contained, some days we just madea sandwich with items from the little store across the road. Awesome baguettes.
Watch The hermit crabs at night, sit by the ocean, relax. It's here.

This was our second stay at Nasama and it was as wonderful as the first. The staff are excellent! This time our stay coincided with Cyclone Lola and the staff handled preparations brilliantly and we felt very safe and well looked after. There are two great restaurants on site catering to all needs/tastes and the food quality and presentation is excellent. Our room was very clean and tidy with a basic kitchen (including a full size fridge) if you want to do any cooking yourself. The resort has a lovely pool and also a great swimming hole on the beach. Easy to catch a bus from here into Port Vila or beyond.

Nasama Resort's best feature is its staff and their beautiful customer service. The team go above and beyond to make your stay amazing. We were greeted at the front of the resort and taken to our room which I thought was a kind little touch. The room was huge, we had fresh flowers and the linen smelt like salt air and sunshine. The Wi-Fi in our room wasn't working and a team member came to our room and worked on it until it was perfect, I think he even went into town to get parts! The resort has some wear and tear from the recent cyclones however given they were only 6 months ago; the team have come together to look after their guests. Nothing is a bother for the Nasama team, they let us have a complimentary late check out as no one was checking into the room and Reception even let us exchange some of our bigger notes for small changes so we could get the bus into town. If you are expecting pool side cocktails and flashy amenities, this isn't your place. However, Nasama make up for that with the small touches – Resort cats slink around and purr when picked up, a gorgeous team member lined up my shoes and folded my pyjamas at the end of my bed, the waves can be heard as you go to sleep and the team are full of smiles and helpful suggestions. If you are looking for a genuine, authentic experience where the team members look after you, then book now.

Our story has begun on the 17th of Dec when we were supposed to fly and arrive to Port Vila. We’ve boarded the plane, left Brisbane but just before landing, the pilot said there was a significant earthquake on the island so we did not land, we were directed back to Brisbane.

I’ve sent an email to the resort saying i hope everyone is okay, we are really sorry for what just happened but we would like to request a full refund because it was a force major situation and things were uncertain, we won’t make it to the island. (At this point there was a cunami alert and also after shocks on the island)
The reply from the resort was totally shocking to me, they declined the refund request, saying there ‘cancellation policy’ doesn’t let them to refund me. They did not offer a voucher or to move our dates, they just said we won’t see our money back. (And just a reminder, we couldn’t make it because there was a 7.3 earthquake on the island, not because we did not want to).

We were lucky enough to book the accommodation through a third party and on there website, it states black and white, there partners are required to offer a full refund in case of a force major. (I would suggest to the management to read the partners’ policies before signing up and if you decide to work with them FOLLOW THEIR POLICY!!!!)

So i called the customer service of the third party and they assured me even if the resort refuses to pay me back, they will do it and then invoice it to them (as they should, the resort is not entitled to my hard earn money, they just took the money without providing a service)
So even if you decide to book accommodation at this property, make sure you do it through a third party and NOT directly with them, because they gonna scam you.
Oh funny enough they say their cancellation policy doesn’t let them to refund you, but when you go on their website, there is not a single T&C or cancellation policy uploaded.

After a month of emailing, calling and waiting we finally got our money back but you should learn from this and spend your money somewhere else!

If i could i would give a lower rating because this is not the way to run a legitimate business and this is not how you deal with your customers.

Dear Dori, Thank you for sharing your experience, and I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused during such an unforeseen situation. While we offered other affected guests the options of a credit voucher, rescheduling, or an insurance letter in line with the Booking.com policy you referenced, it appears we failed to provide you with these options due to an oversight. For this, I deeply regret the frustration caused. As stated in our terms and conditions and confirmation letter, we strongly recommend travel insurance to cover unforeseen events outside of normal cancellation windows, as such situations can be unpredictable. We are reviewing our processes to ensure clearer communication and consistency moving forward. I’m glad your booking was ultimately resolved, and we hope to welcome you to Port Vila under better circumstances in the future. Warm regards, Sarah, Owner

What is the difference between a Deluxe Oceanfront Suite and a Luxury Oceanfront Suite?

we had a studio with a beach view - it was ground level and had a small view of the ocean I would think the deluxe suites are on the top floor and in the blocks closer to the water what we had was very good - wouldn't see the need to pay more for a better view
