Detailed Reviews
We stayed at Puri Mas for ten nights over Christmas and New Years Eve and it met all our expectations. It is located just north of the main area of Senggigi (about a Rs 15-20K taxi ride away - although the resort provides a free one way service there @11am every day).
Being a small boutique resort (40 rooms/villas) they are able to provide friendly intimate service to their customers. Having a no children under 12 policy was a big bonus. It meant that the resort was quiet and tranquil. There were plenty of empty sunbeds around the gorgeous infinity pool and along the oceanfront. At breakfast there was also plenty of empty tables as well. The buffet breakfast is cooked to order so it is fresh and hot.
We stayed in one of the romantic villas, which has its own 25sqm private pool, it was so spacious, sleeping in a comfortable king-size four poster bed in a room with cathedral ceilings. The only minor criticism was that the water pressure was weak, which meant that it took forever to fill the massive bath.
I would thoroughly recommend staying here if you are looking for an intimate luxury getaway in Lombok. I am definitively looking forward to staying here again.

We arrived early but were checked in immediately and taken to our Jacuzzi villa, our home for the next 7 days. We were highly impressed, the private walled garden was extremely spacious with 2 sunbeds, table and chairs, jacuzzi, hospitality tray and instant iced or boiling water supply. In the bedroom the four poster bed with mosquito nets was enormous and there was ample wardrobe and drawer space. The bathroom was huge with a sunken bath and separate walk in shower, toilet and washbasin. The hotel gardens are beautiful and tended regularly by the hard working gardeners, the infinity swimming pool has a good selection of sunbeds and umbrellas. The complimentary a la carte breakfast was served in the Ballroom Restaurant overlooking the sea and Mangsit beach where there is a small choice of other eating places. We enjoyed watching the local fishermen unloading their catch as we ate. The staff were all extremely polite, helpful and seemed happy in their work. The hotel is a short tax iride from Senggigi where there is a further choice for eating and shopping, taxi cost was less than 2 US Dollars. If we returned to Lombok we would definitely return to Puri Mas.

What a wonderful, unique hotel! We didn't know what to expect from Lombok but it turned out to be one of our favourite stop offs. The hotel is simply beautiful. It is owned by a world renowned ballroom dancer and antique collector who has placed many unusual, unique, traditional Indonesian pieces around the estate and in your rooms. We spent many a time walking around finding new things if interest.
The hotel is very very secure with a physical presence there all the time. It is right in the seafront and the sunset views and walks along the beach from there are wonderful. The staff are all so so helpful and genuinely friendly and interested in you. The rooms and grounds are very clean and well equipped. The rooms are spacious and the bed comfortable. We had a great outside seating area which we used every day. The hotel has a mix of rooms, many with pools and each one unique in some way. They are all outside villas. There is no TV in the room but who needs it when on holiday?
The pool area was divine with very comfortable loungers and covered seating areas. Plenty of shade and a great pool bar. You can arrange tours, borrow snorkeling equipment or books.
The sister hotel is also worth a visit. We went to use the spa and again, it is an oasis of interest and antiquities.
The food was excellent and breakfast every morning was made to order. The food for lucnh or dinner was very with plenty of choice. We also are at the restaurant of the sister hotel for a change. Very intimate, free transport provided and of a high quality. Do not miss the ballroom dancing and stick fighting on one of the nights. They are staff and they are of a professional standard and wonderful to watch, very entertaining.
Overall, we would not hesitate to return to this hotel and will struggle to find anything as wonderful on our travels.

Pros:
WiFi, hot water, water pressure, and a/c all worked well. Staff was kind. Clean.
Cons:
Breakfast staff was very slow, inattentive and seemingly with no interest in helping. Multiple times they specifically said they’d return right away to get our order or bring us something and then they proceeded to do other things. Both mornings we had to remind them to take our order after waiting 20-30 minutes.
One day they got the order wrong in a couple ways. One involved forgetting the prawns in a prawn dish; they did quickly resolve but only with a single prawn (which is unusual for the dish at least in the culturally similar Malaysia where we live). Was also strange in terms of requests - the juices came in very small cups so we asked for another and asked if we could get in a larger cup that we saw others have. They said juices are only allowed in small glass, despite what the others had. But they could bring us multiple (?), so we asked for 2 of each. They did bring 2 - and for one of the juices they brought both in the larger glasses.
Other issues involve giving us a key that didn’t work on our door (is a physical key so quite unusual), not having any towels in the room, and upon requesting “a full set of 3 towels” which they clarified, still only bringing the main towel rather than also either a hand and/or face towel (fixed upon calling again). I found the room muggy as well, and while the walls were solid it almost felt like one of those permanent tents you find in some places; but maybe this was in my head. Lastly, the phone used to call them was nearly broken with tons of static, getting progressively worse such that by a third call I needed to make, I had to just give my request and couldn’t hear a word they said.
Despite all the above, I gave 3 stars since all the important things were good.
Other:
I don’t know if we missed something, but we didn’t find Senggigi such a nice area. It was peaceful as there weren’t many people around, but we only found a strong of beach hotels with a very narrow, dirty beach (primarily for boats, though a couple places people could booth board; people mostly laid on beach beds raised above the beach) and a walking path that was challenging to walk along (narrow, up and down between beach and raised area, slippery, etc.).
I also thought I saw some post that this hotel was close to the jetty to take you to Gili. I wouldn’t say this. Senggigi itself is relatively close, but you still need transport from any of the hotels. And the one option (Scoot) available from this area was much worse than the $1 public boat option we used for our return trip to Bangsal, in our opinion.

Entering the premises we were full of hope for a relaxing and fabulous experience . How wrong we were . The grounds were complete with exotic animals caged in tiny enclosures. We were after a French shellac manicure and a pedicure. We were ushered into a very old and dingy tiny room with cheap plastic salon furniture and mismatched decor complete with geckos running up the walls. The nail polish collection they had was a mix matched jumble of old pharmacy nail polish. The French shaellac manicure was a lovely job, but let me tell you - the pedi was like no pedi I had before . My feet were wet in a bowl , filed nails and painted badly with shellac by a trainee therapist who was being directed in Indonesian by another therapist . Upon tipping them all , we were shocked that we were to pay $190AUD!!!!
Do not go here for a spa experience unless you’re willing to pay luxury prices for something that is only a step up from a beachside Bali mani done by a sarong clad local.

Responded Jun 27, 2021
Dear loun461 Thank. you for your review from January 29th, 2020. I am somewhat concerned that some of your comments do not quite ring true with our resort. For example, we do not have plastic salon furniture, in fact, our resort prides itself on antique furniture and artifacts we source from all over Indonesia and this very much includes our spa and spa resort. Also, we do not offer Shellac for nails, only Gel or peel-off. Also, you mention you had a trainee therapist, and our Spa only has staff who have been employed with us for a minimum of 7 years plus and are Babor Trained. If someone has a disappointing experience, we will do our very best to right our wrong, as it is absolutely our policy to ensure all clients are pleased with whichever treatment they have received. I apologize if in fact, it was our Spa, and we did not match up to your expectations. Should you visit the island again, we would be more than happy to offer you a complimentary pedicure. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention. Sara

4 stars is a little mean in my opinion..I`d give it 5 just for the wonderful, smiling attentive staff. This place is a little piece of heaven..thatched pavilions overlooking the beach where you can snooze or read or others in a shaded, immaculate little garden. Sunloungers everywhere you could want them, beautiful pool with views straight on to the ocean, everything immaculately kept...this place is loved by everybody who works there and it shows. Try it, you won`t be disappointed..we`d go back tomorrow

My husband and I spent 9 days at Puri Mas, never, have we ever, enjoyed our stay away from home this much. From my first call to the resort, enquiring about the booking, to us landing in Lombok, everything request of ours was complied with and executed with military precision. Sara, the GM, and her team, are amazing, you pay for 1 resort, but have an option of using amenities at 2 resorts, the food is amazing and the facilities are 5 star!
We are already booking our next stay.
Thank you so much for everything, see you soon X

We were met at the airport by resort staff and whisked away in a great ride at the same cost as if we tried to hail a cab.
Once at the resort, we had to keep pinching ourselves to make sure we were not dreaming!
Our villa was so well appointed (our own filtered water station for refilling bottles), we even had our own pool which we swam in too many times to count!
Breakfast was made to order (rather than buffet) and such great healthy options to get us going for the day (house made yogurt!)
The entire staff was amazing and got to know us by the end of our first day. They really were watching out for us and spoiled us.
Anytime we wanted to have an adventure, the front desk would arrange it for us, all of our guides were kind, funny, and patient, and the cost for these excursions were less than if we tried to book them ourselves.
We can hardly wait to return, thank you Puri Mas!

Our room was huge and spaceous, with a huge four poster bed as its centre piece. We recieved a very friendly welcome as our luggage were taken to our room with views overlooking the gardens, pool and ocean. Bed and room furniture was all very comfy. Large bath if you want a soak. We found low water pressure from our shower on arrival, mentioned it to the reception and during breakfast we received a message that all had been resolved. Sara the manager took the time to meet us at the pool for a friendly chat and advise on places to visit. Jay who heads the management of the onsite restaurant again over looking the ocean was lovely, always had time for a chat and was so friendly, as were all the staff. Gardens and poolside were lovely set out with access to the beach. Overall we loved the place, everyone was happy and greeting us with smiles, felt very much relaxed and chilled. Beautiful place, well worth a stay. Thank you Sara, Jay and all the staff for making our stay a lovely memorable one... John and Hazel

This resort is truly heaven on earth. If you are looking for a relaxing, calm environment; Puri Mas is the place to be. The scenic views from the pool are to die for. The food in the resort and the white elephant restaurant are delicious and meticulously prepared by their experienced chefs. It is a resort that truly values its customers' comfort, needs and respects their unique backgrounds. We were very happy with the hospitality of the staff, manager and Ratna. They truly made us feel at home and we did not want to leave. This resort is truly heaven on earth. It is a rare gem indeed!

Hi
I'm sure you can arrange from the hotel or local operators but I found it easy to organise myself before I went. I flew direct to labian bajo from lombock then took a boat trip with red whale who I can highly recommend. It's worth the trip especially swimming with countless manta rays and turtles and the pink beach is stunning . If you want any photos I will happily provide.
Allan
Hi actually it is what we might call an inside outside balcony as it is all part of the room. The doors open right out and you can sit and comfortably enjoy the infinity pool and ocean view.
We stayed in a spa villa, that had a TV, although we didnt switch it on because we spent a lot of time just appreciating the beauty of the place.
Hello - Yes we would love for you to come to breakfast - we have honestly one of the best on the island! Breakfast opens at 7am and closes at 11am. Hoping to see you in Puri Mas. Please note just for your information that we welcome children OVER 12 years - just in case you have little ones. Thank you. Sara
I am not sure if it is free - but they certainly do transfers and did a free local transfer for us, but this was not to/from the airport.
