This might be a great place, as many reviews describe it, with "fabulous food" and a "great atmosphere". But when you book in the low season, as we did, things change. Because the place is very remote, it takes a 35 dollar taxi ride to get there. After our arrival, we were told by the boy on guard that, in...

Nico is an amazing steward of this beautiful rainforest. Her love and care shine each day. The food is fabulous! We had a group retreat and enjoyed the waterfall hike and the spa facials. The monkey's entertained us each day! I love the open air thatched huts. Remember this is eco friendly and off the grid! A great place to...

I arrived with some friends straight from puerto Jimenez airport. The whole resort has been carefully curated to perfectly blend with its environment. A lot of care and attention has been given to provide an authentic eco lodge jungle stay whilst retaining just enough modern amenities to make one comfortable. The food provided surprised us with its quality and we...

Ojo del Mar is a serene and secluded little bit of paradise. We had an absolutely amazing time, so be prepared for a lot of gushing in this review... The gardens are green, lush, landscaped and really well-tended, apart from all the jungle bits of course. And there's loads of that: monkeys, macaws, herons, tons of things that glow in...

As soon as we arrived at Ojo we knew that this was the perfect place for us to relax and unwind from the constant pressures of the modern world. Ojo is well off the beaten track and requires quite a journey to get there but is worth it on every level. The rooms are so beautiful and rustic and completely...

Entering the lodge is like walking into a picture perfect place for inspiration, reflection, meeting people and planning great adventures. Nico and her staff set an atmosphere that is unique among lodges. With yoga on-site along with a wonderful kitchen that cooks delicious locally inspired meals, it's hard to ask for much more at the ocean-side lodge. But the sustainable...

A truly beautiful eco lodge. Great food and wonderfully abundant wild life. Nicola the owner arranged for a wonderful massage that was truly one of the most transcendent experiences of my life as well as a great surf lesson to celebrate my birthday. Listening to the sounds of the jungle and singing and soft drumming from a chanting work shop...

This is a true eco-adventure for those who want to get out of their usual routines and get close to nature. The birds and animals are everywhere...we saw toucans from the eating area, scarlet macaws while doing yoga, howler and spider monkeys from our cabins. The stars are SO bright. It's also nice to take a digital detox, with very...

The food was most excellent, we looked forward to every meal! The grounds and little cabins were kept clean and tidy, every day. Everyday supplies, (candles) were supplied. The jungle is a noisy place at night, the sounds of animals and the ocean waves gave you a sense of peace and well being. Things as they should be. Showering outside...

Go there every year! Tried many places, but return to this one. Love the very welcoming atmosphere, the owner, Nico, is authentic and real. Helpful, fun and a fabulously creative cook. My partner and I are foodies, and it was a pleasure to relish great food done with passion and care. She uses locally grown herbs and spices, adds twists...
