It just doesn't get any better than this. The property, the accomdations, the food and the staff make for a perfect stay. We were in a house - 2 full bedrooms and baths, living and kitchen area. Great for 2 couples. Saw a cabina and...More
This was my second trip to Bosque del Cabo and this time I was smart enough to go in the dry season! Everything was exactly as I had hoped and it all exceeded my boyfriend's expectations. The naturalist Philip, and awesome bird guide Carlos were...More
Generally, we don't like all-inclusive resorts located miles from anywhere without any options. Yet based on the recommendation of someone who shares many of our non-negotiable requirements, we selected the Bosque Del Cabo for our winter escape. On the remote Osa Peninsula, it's surrounded by...More
When I arrived at Bosque, I was handed a raincoat and umbrella and the greeting, "we're saving your dinner, but you must go on the bat, snake and spider tour...we have a professor here from England who is an expert who will be your guide."...More
I had never been to an Eco-Lodge before and I have to admit was a little skeptical about the whole concept -- i am used to having TVs, air conditioning and bars at the beach with jet skis and hang gliding. Nothing prepared me for...More

I've never been in late July but have been there in mid August (twice). It rains, but generally not in the morning and generally only for 1/2 hour to an hour at a time during daylight hours. Bottom line -- I've been to CR like 5 times in the green season (twice specifically to Bosque) and it's never been an issue.
Check CDC, but this particular area is surprisingly low on biting bugs. We were just there with a 5 and 6 year old and didn't have any worries.
Finally -- make sure to stay at one of the non-cliff edge cabin as/villas. Just ask them which options those are. I wouldn't do the garden rooms with a 4 yo, tho -- going across the suspension bridge in the dark with a 4 yo would be tricky.
If you like to hike and, with the 4 Yo, don't mind pool time and staying around the open area u(lots of animals come by throughout the day), min 2 night, 3-4 ideal.
