Arrived at Tucan Terra , with 2 friends, having spent a week already in the Osa Penninsula. We were recommended to stay there by a friend who is living nearby and were met by the owner , Van , who immediately made us feel at home. The views from our guest house was spectacular overlooking rich and vibrant tropical gardens...

Tucan Terra is set in absolutely gorgeous gardens. It was sheer unbridled pleasure laying in my hammock, looking at the view. When I managed to prise myself out it was mostly to wander down to not just one but two, gobstoppingly beautiful, points over the ocean. Wonderful for watching the sunrise or getting mesmerised by the waves. I could spend...

Firstly... this wasn't a hotel but a private house with cabinas for guests to stay in built within the beautiful tropical gardens. We were very lucky to find this place which was recommended by a friend who lives in the area and recommended we stay here during our visit to the Osa. Once we arrived via the very basic track...

See so many tropical birds, multiple species of monkeys (and some that will eat from your hand), go kayaking on beautiful, warm ocean water with porpoises, and listen to the sounds of the jungle. I've traveled all over Costa Rica. It's a great country, but the Osa is paradise, and Tucan Terra is in the heart of it. Pack enough...

It took 3 trips to Costa Rica to find the place that allowed me to truly experience the heart and soul of the country. I found it along a bumpy dirt road near the southern tip of the Osa Peninsula. I landed at Tucan Terra and immediately felt at home. My friend and I stayed at Tucan Terra for 5...

Of all the many lodging options available in the Cabo Matapalo area, I am so happy I selected Tucan Terra. The superb view of the ocean was really special! Every morning we enjoyed a cup of coffee from chairs on a rock right by the ocean, enjoying the sight of sunrise and dolphins in the distance. Tucan Terra is beautifully...

If you are looking for a vacation in Costa Rica with birds, animals, beach, beauty and relaxation this place is it. The living space is clean, the gardens are gorgeous, you are right on the golf with many options for beach. There is a waterfall within walking distance. As a bonus there were no bugs. Maybe a few no-see-ums in...

We had 3 nights and 4 fabulous days here with Van and his staff. What a fabulous place. Van is the perfect host. You feel right at home with him next door and this staff on site as well. We walked the trails to the waterfalls and to the point. Plenty of wildlife everywhere. The accommodations are clean and comfortable....

We loved our stay at Tucan Terra! We saw more animals here than anywhere else we stayed on the Osa Peninsula. Every day, we woke up to the sound of the ocean, a beautiful sunrise, and monkeys swinging in the trees all around the house. Tucans, red macaws, green parrots, iguanas, coati, blue morpho butterflies can all be seen while...

My partner and I stayed for 2 weeks in early Nov. Beautiful weather for 11 days before the Osa was badly affected by a rare weather event that saw torrential rain for days on end. We were fine though! House not affected at all and we left a day later than planned although then stuck in Puerto Jimenez for a...
