A beautiful country pub with accommodation, set in the picturesque village of Whalton near Morpeth. We are known for our traditional home cooked food, and roaring fires. Well behaved dogs are more than welcome in the bar, and also in the B&B. We are situated near Newcastle airport, and surrounded by many of Northumbria's finest places to visit.

The Beresford Arms is set in a beautiful village and has a great outside presence. The inside is nicely decorated and we were taken to our room in the courtyard. The room needed a good clean as there is shower mold, dead spiders in light fittings, tea stains etc. The mattress, duvet and pillow were all flat as a pancake and overdue a replacement. Breakfast was good and the service efficient. We could not have dinner as food stops at 4pm on a Sunday. The staff were ok but not particularly welcoming. We have stayed in worse but for the ratings expected better. See pics. If it gets a spring clean and new bedding it could be really nice.

I brought my 2 children here for a lunchtime treat. We also brought our dog and we reserved a table in the bar area. I had the trio of meats which was absolutely superb. We had a decent set of vegetables put on our table and had the chance to request more if needed. We also got a gravy boat which was a big plus. The Yorkshire puds were massive and perfectly cooked. Desserts were also good. The sticky toffee pudding and rice pudding were good choices and apparently the strawberry ice cream was the best ever according to my son. Good service and we will be back here.

Delighted to revisit this pub after several years. Kitchen kaput at home so we needed quick easy local feed for family ! Came early to find a very warm welcome, clean stylish & tasteful decor ... Good selection on the menus. We only came for a Fish n Chip / Burger “Tea” which was delicious followed by Ice cream. We will be back for a proper Dinner very soon Many thanks & Good Luck.

after not visiting the beresford for sometime, we decided to go for a family Sunday lunch on a recommendation. We were not disappointed, it was beautiful. The pub has been refurbished beautifully and the food was excellent. We really enjoyed our time there, if I was being picky it was a little chilly at times from the door, but otherwise excellent.

The Beresford Arms is located in the quiet little village of Whalton. It's an old village pub which has had a makeover to bring it in line with modern times and it is now more of a restaurant than a traditional pub. The menu offered includes a variety of good pub-grub staples and the prices are reasonable. The surroundings of the dining area are bright and modern - nothing flashy. There is a range of starters, all about $6.00 and the mains are around the £10.00 mark (except the steak). Sweets are also about £6.00. On my recent visit I had a tasty bowl of soup and a very enjoyable home made burger, served with chunky chips. My guests opted for tagliatelli and another psta dish which, they assured me, were very good. Service was prompt and efficient so our overall dining experience at the Beresford was good. Unfortunately, we ened up having a strongly worded discussion with the waitress about the use of a £40.00 gift voucher which slightly took the gloss off the evening.
