Our party of 4 - 2 couples, stayed in a pair of small houses close to the beach. The had everything we needed including fresh local bread, eggs and fruit. Each house had a slow combustion heater as well as electric heaters, big TV, plenty of reading material about King Island, a large bathtub and a comfy bed. Great privacy...

Lighthouse Rocks Cottage is one of the old Fishermans cottages managed by Caroline of Devils Gap Retreat in Currie. We booked as we thought we would try some 'different' accomodation! And we were right these cottages have been decorated by Caroline, a local artist, and may I say a local 'character'. Caroline met us at the airport and we follower...

Stayed at Waterwitch for a week. This is not 5 star accommodation, but is best described as comfortable, homely, whimsical and rustic - which is a deliberate creation of the artistic owner Caroline (who was very friendly and helpful - she even met us the airport !). This is not a criticism, as it does add hugely to the charm...

The sandy track up winding through the sand dunes to the retreat sets the scene to this gem. Colourful paintings, sculptures and coastal paraphernalia line the one bedroom cottage. An added touch of eggs, fruit and milk and plenty of left over tea and coffee made the need to immediately go shopping seem redundant. One side of the lounge looking over...

This stay was really different. The artwork and paint colours really unusual. The views magnificent- I remember eating breakfast while watching the breakers on the rocks. Plenty of space for a couple. You will need a hire car to stay here- too far to walk to town. Also no wifi and if you are not on Telstra- no phone. Loved...

If you are after five star modern luxury then this place is not for you. If you are after a gloriously unique, clean, well equipped private cottage with the most awesome views, then this IS the place for you. Caroline has set up a really unique place with lots of quirky bits and pieces. We arrived to an already lit...

We stayed at devils gap for a week and absolutely loved it!! The house was secluded but close enough to currie just to pop into town for dinner or groceries, and the house was fully self contained with the perfect amount of kitchen appliances and utensils to cook our catch of the day. The overall appearance was very rustic and...

Hard to describe Devils Gap retreat without seeing it. Amazing unobstructed panoramic views from edge to edge to horizon. The comforts are wonderful, indeed quaint in some ways, but all adds to the mystique and enjoyment of this wonderful place in this wonderful location. We would go back and certainly stay again. Just to sit by the fire drinking wine...

Tremendous. Great uninterrupted views of the ocean. Peaceful and cosy with a homely fireplace. Local produce is provided for breakfast that includes eggs and honey which is to die for. Sleeping on a cloud describes the bed. A female fairy wren taps at the window to wake you in the morning. The wallabies join you on the verandah to sit...
