Such an amazing resort. We enjoyed our time that much we cancelled other plans and extended our stay. The staff were lovely and genuinely interested in the guests. Nothing was too much trouble and they were always willing to go out their way to help make the experience memorable.

The grounds were beautifully maintained, and the scenery, quietness and wildlife help one disconnect from reality and drop into relaxation.

During our stay we had several spa treatments and highly recommend trying a sound bath by Sonia. The experience is difficult to describe, but it is one you are unlikely to forget.

We recommend staying at Wolgan Valley if you want to disconnect from the busyness of the world and take some time out for yourself to enjoy good food and wine, in a peaceful setting with exceptional service and amenities that will allow you to do as much, or as little, as you like.

For our wedding anniversary we traveled her for 3 nights. From the moment you arrive you are feel like you are being spoiled. The rooms blend into the environment beautifully and the use of timber and stone is divine. Fire place and bath looking out to the bush were my favourite. The homestead were we had meals was so lovely and cosy. Food was delicious and lots of options. The only recommendation I gave it that I think for the high price it should include a Spa voucher. Stables tour is a must

It is difficult to rate this property, being a wilderness resort and quite different from the usual holiday destinations. It is expensive, but the cost is understandable given the very high standard of the resort
in all respects and the enormous upkeep required to provide such a luxury destination in a wilderness area.
STAFF..........My husband and I use the best hotels in the world. The Ritz London is a much used favourite, the Burj al Arab in Dubai, the Baur au Lac in Zurich, etc. so we are in a position to make an informed analysis of the level of service provided and with the One & Only in the Wolgan Valley it has the most supportive, professional, friendly but not intrusive staff we have ever encountered. I think the reason for their amazing service is that all staff live on site and most have worked in this resort for years and the friendship amongst the staff and their
loyalty and pride in the resort is possibly a reason for their total commitment to the wishes of each guest.
This was not our first visit, and we were delighted as before with our villa, with a lovely open fire which faces the
bedroom and lounge room. Everything you can imagine is included with the villa, i.e. mountain bikes and indoor heated pool and shower open to the sky. We were treated to a night time drive around the enormous estate in a 4 wheel drive, which was educational and fun. We also were given a very interesting tour of the original farm homestead together with the history of this place.

Checked in for 3 nights and was looking forward to a relaxing time and also to experience new chef James Viles having eaten several times at his old restaurant Biota dining. Unfortunately our overall experience is one not becoming of a One&Only property.
Our in villa pool was in a disgusting state during the whole of our stay - not only could we not use it as the water was freezing it also had, as the pictures would show dead flies and crumbling sandstone!
As a One&Only property we would expect more than that. It was VERY disappointing that for the 3 days we were there with temperatures in the high 20's and 30 that we could not use the pool. Unacceptable, even after we brought it to management's attention. The heater in the the pool was off and was then turned back on and the temperature probably only went up by 1 degree. It beggars belief that our room was thought to be ready for guests with the pool heater tuned off and the water freezing.

Breakfast was another poor performance* by staff which we overlooked but 2 days(!!!) of being served by a staff member who looked as if she took her shirt out of the wash basket and put it on it was soo creased and unkempt looking.! Again unacceptable standard for this property.
Should I have said something at the time? Maybe but its not my job to alert management on staff appearance. I suppose the most disappointing thing was that it was over 2 breakfast shifts (Friday & Saturday) and not one of her work colleagues or restaurant supervisor saw it fit to advise her to iron her shirt!!
* On our first breakfast Friday morning we were given a continental tray before our hot breakfast order, Saturday no and when I queried I was told that I should have asked for it, really, if it is and it should be part of our breakfast it should as a matter of course served automatically. On watching other guests, it would appear that 50% got it automatically, the others didn’t get it at all. That is again a poor showing, guests not getting what they are entitled to.

On check in our credit card details were taken, but on check out we were told that there was no credit card details on record ??? another example of poor staff management. Not a major issue but when coupled with our other disappointments it became another irritating issue.

As was on our first and recent visit housekeeping was on point, villa always left in spotless condition. Chef James Viles was again for us highlight in an otherwise rather ordinary stay. Harry perfect bar tender loves his job and it shows.

Can we put up with disappointing facilities and poor staff management to endure another stay, I think not for the foreseeable future.

Special offer was not quite as special as suggested and daily rate was higher by several hundred dollars a night than the October last year long weekend which was in the school holidays.the grounds maintenance had slipped with substantial cabbage like and bindi overgrowth.
The plunge pool surrounds in the villas needs maintenance to the crumbling sandstone and possibly a rail for entry into the pool to suit those with mobility issues would be excellent
New chef is performing well with well planned meals although we did miss the opportunity for a degustation which we have experienced before I think also at Wolgan.Return visitors feel welcome as we did and should be encouraged

Once I arrived at the Welcoming entrance a glass of Rosé offered to us gave me the impression of warmth which could only be felt at those south east Asia resorts. The lunch BBQ with lobster and entrée seemingly Arabic style mostly probably influenced by the resort owner Emirates was beautiful but portions and quantity too much to finish. Do not forget to ask the restaurant manager to show you their wine cellar. Good wine with very reasonable prices. Picnic lunch at Panorama Deck brought us to a dream with all surroundings as green, nature and rocks without any human traces. Nocturnal 4-Wheel Drive Bus Spotlight tour was unforgettable. Kangaroos and wombats. 1832 Homestead Museum is only 10 minutes from those guest houses, worth spending an hour. Walking trails are good for capturing photos of kangaroos at close distance.

Visited here on the 3rd day of the reopening of the resort on 3/7/20.

The best services, hardware, food offering amongst hotels in NSW. The experience to see wild animals and the surroundings is unique.. It even passed the wife's value for money test notwithstanding high prices. Tariffs included full board with selective wine and any extra curriculum charged for activities are reasonably priced.

Had the juiciest Scotch Fillet here. Cake is top notch and coffee served a bliss.

Empathy shown for couples with young family. Can't say the same for Spicers Resort in the vicinity which is adults only.

Villa infrastructure is great and does not show it is now 12 year old. Liked the strong Wifi, tall rainshower and real woodplace plus the plunge pool. Shower water pressure could be stronger.

With Villa well spaced apart, privacy and best slumber at night is guaranteed.

A place most recommended for visiting considering any thing more exotic overseas is not likely any time soon.

The property and nature is beautiful. We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa priced at $8,750 per night, the equivalent of a Presidential Suite. The service did not match the price we were expected to pay for the room. Minimum stay was 3 nights, and the food options for lunch and dinner became very boring as the menu does not change, and there is no personal chef (which should be included at the price we paid per night)

This is our fourth visit to Wolgan, and the previous three visits have been exceptional. Not this time however. The food is still excellent, the scenery amazing, but the rest left a lot to be desired. Bear in mind that this resort charges premium prices, and for that I expect premium service. Dinner on second night had live music of average covers of what would be a mediocre Spotify playlist. But it was so out of place in an elegant dining room with sophisticated food. They should have just put a chicken parmy on the menu. Then the bogans in the bar started whooping and shouting and requesting songs. I thought for a moment I was in a pub in Lithgow. Service was amateurish and appalling, and this is a seriously expensive resort. Nothing like our previous stays, would never go back. Abysmal.

We visited the One and Only early March 2020, several months after the fires and were unsure what we would find. To our amazement we found a lush paradise cloaked in green grass, fuzzy rejuvenated eucalyptus trees, amazing accommodations and a bit of heaven. It rained the day before our arrival which only enhanced the beauty, but also hatched a few flies. The flies were a bit bothersome but did not spoil any activity. We rode the horses through a majestic valley, through streams and had a great two hour outing. The horses are well maintained, well behaved and not to tough for even a beginner. We toured the property with Imogen, who was a great guide, extremely knowledgeable and personable and would highly recommend seeking her out. Also participated in a conservation effort the resort is undertaking and enjoyed giving a bit back by planting some new tree starts.
The food was good, service great, and food and drink available all day. Loved the room, or should I say villa. Large, very well appointed and perfectly situated to take advantage of the view if 7,000 acres, they were perfect in every way. I don’t think any one room is better that another, unless you don’t like being to far from the main lodge ( if so try 29, 30, 31 and 32).
Strongly recommend visiting.

Yes it does. Quite an extensive menu for all meals. The staff are very obliging and friendly and will change any dish or do a special meal. Cater for children as well. Drinks at meal times are included but the poolside alcoholic drinks are not included. Pre dinner drinks at the bar are also included. You will love it there, we certainly did and it was our second time there. We will definitely go back.

Smart casual. Collared shirt for dinner is appreciated. It’s quite hot right now- between 26 and 34 degrees Celsius. A little bit cooler at night. Swimming costume, good shoes for walking and a hat. Enjoy.

I would definitely contact the resort directly, before making your decision on whether to go. We were there several years ago during a fire in the Blue Mountains. Two roads out were closed for several hours and the resort offered us and our driver (who had gotten in an hour and a half earlier) accommodations due to the fires. One of the roads opened in an hour and we left. The fires are worse now than they were then. Good wishes on making the right decision.
