My husband and I had the most wonderful time at the Grand Velas Los Cabos. This was the first time staying at this resort and we will definitely be back! Even when traveling during Covid, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel safe. We were picked up in an Escalade from the airport and before getting in the car, our temperature was checked and our shoes were disinfected. Same procedure when arriving at the resort. Shoes cleaned, temperature checked, etc. (We also did this before entering any of the restaurants) The entire time, the staff had on masks and face shields
The rooms are beautiful. We were upgraded to the grand class suite - GORGEOUS! The balcony and plunge pool were wonderful and we loved having our breakfast on the balcony each morning.
Our concierge/butlers Rocio and Laura were fantastic. They were both so helpful and made sure we were taken care of and had everything we needed throughout our stay. We were celebrating my birthday and after dinner they had a birthday cake, balloons, and the sweetest birthday card waiting for us in our room! They helped us in booking transportation, ordering food, spa reservation, and any other activities. I even accidentally left a sun hat in the car that picked us up from the airport. They were able to locate the hat and had it waiting in our room when we go back!
The restaurants are fabulous. We ate at Luca, Frida, Velas 10, and Piaf. We did not have a single bad meal. Jorge, Jaquin, and Ulises took care of us at every restaurant and made each dinner perfect for us. My husband ordered a certain tequila at dinner, we found out later that they had to go to another bar to get the right tequila. Instead of telling us it was not available at that restaurant, they went the extra mile and got it (thank you Jaquin!) Alan, the food and wine director at the resort was kind enough to offer us specialty bottles of wine and also did our wine tasting. I mentioned that I loved spicy margaritas and he had a special one made for me that was not on the menu the next day at the pool. He also made my husband a fancy mojito!
We spent every day at the adults pool - so beautiful. It reminds us of the Grand Wailea in Maui! Hugo and Eduardo took great care of us. We never had to look for them. They were constantly checking on us making sure we had everything we needed. Hugo even came around with popsicles and you could chose patron or grey goose to put in them - so fun! We had lunch at the pool everyday. Everything was wonderful. We especially loved the shrimp quesadillas and ceviche! Fabian and Alexander the bartenders were awesome!
The spa was glorious. We did a couples massage and the water ceremony. Highly recommend!
The staff is what makes this hotel so special. Everyone has a smile on their face and they go above and beyond to make your vacation perfect. We have traveled to many places all over the world and this resort is one of our favorites! Thank you again Grand Velas, we cannot wait to come back!

Check in was a breeze, and then our butler showed us our room and told us about some of our food options. We didn't really see our butler for the rest of the trip, but we were able to get everything we needed from dialing 0.
The pools were super warm so even on the days when the sky was a little cloudy it was still nice to swim and be in the pool. The service at the pool area was amazing. You could order off a small menu or do what I did... I went to the Azul buffet, got a plate and took it to my pool chair to eat with my husband who ate shrimp tacos from the pool service menu. They don't have a large beer menu, and sadly no hard seltzers yet, but they have just about everything else.
We only got to try the Velas 10 and the Frida restaurants as frankly the meals took forever. If you want a dining "experience" book the restaurants and know that it'll take at least an hour and a half, even just for two people. If you don't want to go sit down for dinner just order room service, it was amazing! We ordered breakfast in the room a couple times. The door slips for breakfast they provide are a little confusing as there are only so many selections, but if you write exactly what you want in the comments they can make it happen. My husband requested donuts and I had requested scrambled eggs with cheese in them and we got everything we wanted! We even called to get some whiskey up in our room and we were delivered a whole bottle of Jim Bean.
There were not a whole ton of activities to do during the day, so if you are someone who is looking for more adventure I recommend booking an excursion or hiking Mt. Solmar. We did the dolphin experience in San Jose and it was wonderful. They really do get you on the price of the photo pass, but hey, I'll probably never swim with dolphins again. You can walk on the beach quite a ways, but they make you sign your life away if you want to swim in the ocean.
The room itself was amazing! Super large with a super large balcony. The water handle in the shower was backwards, but we figured that out after a minute or so of cold water. lol Overall a great trip, very relaxing!

I just celebrated a milestone birthday at GV Los Cabos with 11 girlfriends. I Had never heard of GV before this trip but selected GV because of the high food ratings I saw online. We were a tough crowd of discriminating well-seasoned travelers and GV did not disappoint. We were greeted with glasses of Veuve Clicquot and aromatherapy neck massages when we arrived and things only got better from there. Service was outstanding, in particular from Rocio our assigned concierge, who worked hard to make sure we got into the restaurants we wanted (when we wanted), and with others helped to organize an amazing private yacht tour of Los Cabos that included whale watching and a dip into the beautiful Sea of Cortes. At the resort, our rooms (which were large and comfortable and all overlooking the ocean), spa, and common areas were all gorgeous (sleek and contemporary but with homage to Mexican traditions giving character). In fact, this is probably the first time I have been to any resort where I felt the photographs online did not do justice to the place! The restaurants proved they deserved the high praise I saw online especially Cocina D’Autor where we enjoyed an amazing 8 course birthday dinner party complete with excellent wine pairings with each course and acoustic guitar serenade. Anyone wondering if this place is worth the price can stop wondering. If you have the extra dollars to spend and value high quality then Grand Velas Los Cabos is the place for you.

We are a family of 4 with 2 kids under 3.
1. The hotel itself is very nice and luxurious as you would expect from a 5-star resort at this price point ( rooms, restaurants, bars ...),
2. The pools are absolutely gorgeous. We loved and enjoyed spending most of our time at the pool and beach. All the staff at the pool are fantastic. Regularly checking on you to make sure you have everything you need. We loved ordering food and drink in the pool and it was delicious and fast.
3. Food and service is fantastic in all restaurants (including the buffet which had very nice variations on different days).
4. Kids club and the staff were fantastic. Our kids loved the kids club.
5. Service, service and service: Probably the best level of service we've received in any 5-star resort. They go above and beyond to make sure you and your kids have all you need to enjoy the time at the resort.
Interacting with the concierge is extremely easy and efficent. We used WhatsApp to interact with them and it was very easy. From asking them to book a restaurant or spa, or scheduling housekeeping, booking our covid test for the return flight ( which was very convenient and the antigen test was done at the hotel), checking hotel's boutiques for kids toys :) ... they make you feel comfortable asking for their help.
Special thanks to Michell for being extremely helpful at any time of the day and making sure our trips with two small kids were enjoyable. Michell also showed up to work early on our last day to make sure our covid test was all in order before our flight (there was an error on our side for the type of test we had to do)
Thank you Blair for making sure we had all we needed for kids when we were checking in.
Thanks, Monica for walking with us in the rain and holding an umbrella for one of our strollers when we were going to the buffet and suddenly it started raining heavily.
COVID rules were very logical. We felt very safe at the resort: Mask for indoor spaces, all staff were wearing masks indoor and outdoor, sanitizers are readily available and masks are offered in restaurants in case you forgot to bring yours.

Escaped the challenges of work from home and school from home with my family for 11 wonderful days at Grand Velas Los Cabos. The entire experience was first class – from the accommodations, the staff, the food and the amenities. Traveling to other five star properties across the US and Mexico (including the other 2 Grand Velas resorts) – Grand Velas is THE best. The hotel’s response to the pandemic was super responsible and made our family very comfortable with the extra sanitation steps in place throughout the resort. While the occupancy rates were low and not all restaurants were open – we found what we needed and enjoyed the quieter surroundings. The kids activities for my 6, 8 and 13 year old were well planned and staffed by caring, kid-friendly staff with fun daily activities ranging from mermaid dress up/swimming, cooking classes, range of digital games. They even planned a special birthday party for my daughter while there! Private beachfront dinners, family photo shoots, and making meal accommodations - at each turn, the staff went well beyond what was expected to make our long stay exceptional. Special thanks to our concierge – Carlos and Rocio – who made it all happen!

This is the second time I have come to the resort with my daughters. I can honestly say they take more care and caution with health and wellness then they do in the States. We had zero worries with Covid. Upon arriving in the airport our shoes were cleaned twice, as were our hands, our temperature was taken at every spot we entered and a key was downloaded into our iphones for our room. And speaking of room, they are wonderful, the view is what we keep coming back for. We recommend the 10th floor on the right hand side. Sleep with the sliding glass door open so you can hear the waves, We love Adrian and Diane who are two of the Butlers that made our stay feel like we were family only better and Luz who planned our activities including evening wine and painting. The food at the hotel is really 5 star with each night a different theme. The Italian food was a favorite of all three of us- the best broccoli soup of our lives! Same for the raviloi! The resort is so welcoming, so home like in terms of staff, so beautiful, we will be back in the spring for sure!

Our stay at Grand Velas Los Cabos was perfect. We were visiting to celebrate a 50th birthday and the staff made sure it was an unforgettable one! We had two personal concierges, Carlos Luna and Lizbeth de Jesus. Kudos to Liz, particularly, since she was responsable of decorating the room and everything was flawless, every single detail was contemplated and done with perfection. Our requests/expectations were fulfilled by her!
The property is gorgeous, the staff, particularly Hugo and Filberto at the pool side were amazing, with impeccable service.
Despite the current situation due to COVID, all sanitary protocols were taken into consideration, bags were sanitized upon arrival, as well as rooms and restaurants. Free COVID tests were also provided.
Grand Velas Los Cabos is the ultimate luxury experience and A MUST!

From the moment we stepped on the property until the moment we left, we couldn’t have been happier. Our two concierges (Ricardo and Laura), the staff, waiters, even the chefs went out of their way to accommodate us in a 6-star fashion. We felt extremely comfortable while there, as far as Covid protocols. Our temperature was taken any time we entered a building where there would be other people, we were offered hand sanitizer at every turn, and all of the staff who brought us food or drink wore masks and face shields (all others wore masks). We celebrated a birthday while we were there, for which they provided a special, romantic dinner, featuring only us, the chef and two waiters! The food was fabulous, the spa was one of the most beautiful we’ve ever seen, the gym was amazing, and the grounds are absolutely beautiful. We’ll be back!

I had heard a lot of great things from our friends who have visited this resort three times. It lived up to all my expectations. My first comment must be about the quality of the service, beach and poolside. Abigail (Abi) was our server most of the week. My husband, three sons and two GFs were so well taken care by Abi! His manner, his work ethic was exemplary. He helped make the stay memorable. We have stayed at many all inclusive resorts throughout Mexico. Grand Velas distinguishes itself by not upcharging for things like the beach dinner or the Mexican night party. Service throughout the resort is simply the best we have encountered. The food was fantastic. Make sure you try the whole fish at Velas and ask the chef to make you his off menu item of grilled shrimp wrapped in bacon and stuffed with mozzarella. Velas was my favorite meal of the week! Food is a very important part of our family trips and we were delighted with the variety and quality. Cocina Autor could use a little work. While creative, some of the dishes miss the mark and the time to be served is simply too long. Frieda was the favorite among my sons. Great variety and innovation. Get up early to reserve a chair as it gets crowded and some people were frustrated. We like to watch the sunrise so not an issue for us. The gym was great for my sons. Icing on the cake is the ability to watch whales blowing and breaching right from your beach chair!! Finally the decor of the restaurants is fantastic. Check out the bar at Autor. Wow!!

Grand Velas is the #1 in cabo for a reason. From the bottle of champagne waiting for me at check-in, to my two butlers available 24/7 by text message or WhatsApp to the checkout feedback form, every detail of the stay is accounted for at Velas, and if anything happens they will truly do anything to make it right.
I stayed in a Wellness Suite, had a fantastic massage (included with the $400 spa credit), ordered a ton of room service and just chilled out. The food is the best I've had at an all inclusive resort, they'll even bring you sparkling wine (champagne is extra), everything is really fresh and you can tell it's cooked by a good chef.
The only "note" I can write in this review is the HDMI function on the TV is programmed to turn itself off every 20 minutes. So if you want to stream your own movies or work on your laptop using the TV, you have to click the channel up botton, click back to HDMI and click OK to turn it back on. For some reason at midnight on my last day it completely stopped working. So this is a little annoying, as doing this every 20 minutes takes me out of the "flow" state of my work. Velas is so on it I'm sure they'll address this, but in the meantime use the channel up and back hack, that's the fastest way to get back into the HDMI mode.
All in all Grand Velas is amazing. Don't hesitate to let the staff know what you're really looking for in Cabo, they will do everything in their power to make it happen for you. This alone is worth staying there. In a town known for top level service Grand Velas is on another level. A special thank you to Antonio, and Jocelyn who impeccably handed a few issues I had during my stay in an absolutely classy way. I wish the GM of a few other properties in Cabo would come to stay here - they would learn a few things for sure!

Regarding your question, March is a month where families with children usually visit us to enjoy the Easter activities at the resort. If you want to try an adults only resort you should visit Grand Velas Boutique Hotel next door.

Grand Velas Los Cabos is a hotel designed for the whole family and therefore for young children. The Kids Club coordinates activities for children from 4 years and has its own recreation areas. If the child is under 4 years old, we offer a babysitting service, who will be accompanying and caring for the minor during the activities; this service is with an additional cost.
