My husband and I traveled to CIBC Feb. 13 through the 20th. We have been staying here for over 20 years spanning the old CIBC as well as most recent owners. We were scheduled to go to CIBC the November after the Virgin Islands were devastated by the hurricanes. We returned last year after they reopened. Last year things were good but this year all the gardening and landscaping have made such an amazing come back. It is more verdant than I can imagine. Andy and his staff have made it their mission to plant edibles used in the restaurant and bar. As always Sam's staff is amazing! They always treat us like family. ! The food is amazing! For me there is always a place on the beach where I can relax and read in the shade. My husband said it may have been the best trip to CIBC we have ever made. Thank you to all of the staff for making our vacation memorable!…
This is our favorite place (especially with Saba Rock / Bitter End closed) and always spend two of our 8 nights here when we're on our bareboat vacation. It's a gorgeous setting, the restaurant, coffee bar and Rum bar are excellent. It's easy to take a dingy up to Cistern point to snorkle. Great place to spend a few days! This time we were able to secure our mooring through the new Boaty Ball app but while we were just off the two main docks, we were in a kind of swirly / odd current area. Normally our mooring ball has been a calm, easy swim to shore experience. Not sure what was going on this year but you could see the boats all swinging around in all different directions, strange!
We arrived rather late in the day and they had arranged for a dive boat to take us to the resort from Hodges Creek Marina. We were greeted at the dock and shown to our room,#11, one of the best ones, a bit up on the hill overlooking the bay and resort. The following 3 days were just about perfect. Wonderful food at the restaurant, great rum samples at the Rum Bar which was hosted by a guy that seemed to have intimate knowledge of all several hundred options. There is a small dive shop on site and SUP’s and kayaks are available to guests. There is a private beach area for residents where we were typically alone but if you wanted to join the activity in the restaurant and bar it was just a stroll down the beach. Fun to watch all the boats come and go and the dingy shuttles to the dock. All very relaxing. Would certainly come again…
We stopped by for lunch about 10 years ago while on a snorkel day trip. Came back the next year in 2011 for a three night stay and Intentionally failed to write a review at the time, as I wanted to keep The best kept secret in the Caribbean. Now in 2020 I feel compelled to say something… for more reasons than I can list here, this is one of our favorite getaways anywhere. Maybe it’s the lack of roads, cars and traffic? Could be a great day of snorkeling seeing a shark, a ray and a sea turtle within 10 m of each other. Might be the amazing team with Sam, Meron, Kina and Andy tending to and managing every important detail. They operate this eco-resort with a unity of purpose and it shows in everything they do and everything you see while you stay here. This place is more than just a charter boat stop for lunch and dinner! Please, by all means make sure to come and stay here in one of the beachside cabins for a few nights. Soak in the sound of the ocean waves, practice a little yoga on the beach and make sure to kayak over and snorkel cistern point. Looking forward to the next time and meanwhile we’ll be basking in the memories of Cooper Island ~ …
I only got to spend a few hours there in the afternoon but I enjoyed it. Hanging out on the beach lounge chairs with a few tasty Margaritas. They even have tables in the ocean if you want to stand at for your drinks. We then went back for dinner with the group of friends we were staying on the catamaran with. We all enjoyed the food, the Mahi Mahi was a little dry. The only real downfall was we had a couple join us at 9:50 and we were told that the kitchen was closed.
