We ate here after a long walk along the Pedders Way. It's a traditional pub that offers the usual food choices. The food we had was good but not exceptional. It wasn't busy despite being a Sunday lunch time. The pub is tired and needs investment. I'm sure the owners would love to have the money to improve it. The... More

We spent a night at the pub while visiting a nearby festival. The accomodation was excellent and so was the meal we had and breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble. A lot of time and effort had been put in to ensure everything was to a very high standard and that every small detail had been covered.

We stayed here as were walking the Peddars Way. When we got there we were shown round by Karen (Boss) and she seemed a bit off but we think that is because she was very busy. Our room was room no 1 (dog themed) Lovely room (block on the side of the room). We had a drink and the food... More

My wife and I dined here and brought our 2 dogs with us, because they are allowed in the bar, but not in any other part, including the letting rooms. The current owners have their own 2 dogs that are friendly, although they may bark at you when you first enter! There is a nice garden at the back of... More

We stayed and ate here on the first night of our walking holiday. The accommodation is in separate units alongside rather than above the pub so quieter than if above. The room is spacious, clean, comfortable and evidently fairly new or refurbished. The hosts are friendly and the 2 german shepherd dogs gorgeous. The food was very good, with a... More

Visited this pub on numerous occasions and decided to book for lunch on a Sunday, there was 12 of us and we ordered our meals in advance as we were able to choose from the different menus. The food was excellent as was the service, although it did not all arrive at the same time it was freshly cooked and... More

Came here for something to eat. Plenty of choice on the menu and food was lovely and arrived quickly. Great, friendly and warm service from the land lady. This little pub has bags of character that you wouldn't get anywhere else places like this unfortunately aren't around any more. Well worth a visit!

We had a very comforable stay at the end of October. Plenty of car parking, and the accomodation is a modern separate block-so peaceful and quiet. Very well furnished with everything you could wish for. Perfectly clean and welcoming. Karen and Martin were kind and professional hosts. The pub is a traditional independent one with fresh, excellent food, open fire... More
