I was so disappointed, I stayed here 2 years ago and it was nice and I was treated so wonderfully. I couldn't wait to come back, unfortunately it was completely opposite of that trip this time.. Room was fine but whem we arrived there were 2 weddings going on so ot was very crowded. The next morning there was trash everywhere. The staff was absolutely horrible, The front desk check in were rude . The people that worked Around the pool area were useless. I asked for umbrella and the kid said no it was to early. When 9:30 came he was busy on his phone . Never got one . Had to pull our own lounge chair to the beach while workers stood there on phones. They allowed all the locals on the beach using the chairs and facilities yet i couldnt get umbrella The food was horrible, if you want kind hospitality this is not the place . Wasnt worth the money . To many places that cater to there guests .

I was so torn writing this review because on one hand this was the perfect hotel for me and my friend. We wanted a relaxing vacation at a hotel that had everything. Pool, swimmable beach, bar, restaurant, casino, coffee shop, ect. A place you don’t have to necessarily leave. I still gave 4 stars and would recommend but it was very hit or miss with amenities/staff/food. Some cons were outside of the hotels control. The staff: You either got the best or the worst. No in between, which is why I think there are so many mixed reviews. Example: there’s a stand for towels. One day we got 2 towels from a nice kid behind stand who was super friendly. The next day the kid behind towel stand said “that’s not my job”. Ok then why are you the only one standing behind the towel stand? I just walked behind him and grabbed 2 myself. He never looked up from his phone. Maybe he was on a break but it’s a weird spot to take it. The Pool: When I first read reviews about how slippery the wet floor was around the pool I rolled my eyes because that’s a given. I take it back because it’s like walking on an ice rink. I don’t even understand how a Marriott could put such dangerous flooring around the whole pool area. The swim up pool bar was awesome and the water was very clean. I loved the separate pool areas so you never felt crowded. On day 2 some girls got too drunk and puked right into the water at the swimup bar. Yes girls plural. Pool was shutdown for rest of day to clean. Kinda ruined the pool for the rest of our stay after witnessing that. At least we got one day to enjoy because pool was nice. I know people who can be drunk and not look it so don’t know if I can blame bar for over serving. Could just be bad timing for us. The Beach/Outside Restaurant: The beach is what is really worth the price for this hotel. It is beautiful. The water is warm, clean, swimable, with little to no rocks. Small riptide but at least it was pulling you towards shore and not out to sea. The restaurant and bar are steps away from beach so it was convenient to grab a quick drink or bite to eat and head right back to your chair without packing up. For hotel food it wasn’t bad. Definitely venture out for the really good food. We did pack a small cooler and brought cups so we didn’t have to buy too many $12 mixed/frozen drinks or $7 beers. Beautiful views while eating outside. Watch out for birds…they will eat the food right off your plate. They also crap on everything so don’t plan on sitting on any cushions or couches you see in the pictures online. The hotel really does their best to keep them away but they can’t control nature. It’s annoying but I can’t fault them too much for it. There was a lot of trash on beach-cigarette butts, bottle tops, paper. ect. They have staff cleaning the beach as much as possible but they don’t own the whole beach or control the wind so I would count that as another con out of their control. The Hotel Overall: Casino is nice and clean with plenty of security. Coffee is delicious I just wish they had more than one person working the morning shift so you can get one in under 15 minutes. Room service was quick but they woke me up hours later calling the room telling me I did not sign receipt. They called wrong room. House keeping made our beds but didn’t empty trash cans or take towels left on floor. More strange than anything else. Location is secluded and by the airport so you’re going to hear planes. Never bothered us. You’re going to have to taxi/Uber to get to any good restaurants. Taxis are convenient and the valets make sure your driver has the right location. They even make sure you have a return taxi back to hotel. The valets are great! Uber is cheaper but at least the taxis have set prices. Old San Juan is about 15 minutes $21 taxi. Four stars because we did have a great vacation staying here. If this trip was 3 years ago my star rating would’ve been much lower for the price we paid and service we got. I think a lot of issues stem from a staff shortage. My advise if a staff member is rude or dismissive is to just shrug, walk away, and look for another employee. Like I said staff is hit or miss. This is a perfect hotel for a quiet relaxing beach vacation. If you like nightlife and walking around shops I would stay in Condado or Old San Juan.

Carlos was excellent help while I was in San Juan from telling me the best places to eat and best bars for a drink to taking care of rude and disrespectful guest. He's a very valuable employee for sure and genuinely cares about people! I will definitely be back!

We enjoyed our stay at the Courtyard by Marriott Isla Verdi. The good: the hotel has a very nice pool and beach area. One side of the pool is great for families. The other side has a swim up bar that’s great for adults. Antonio at the pool bar was fantastic. He’s excellent at engaging with guests and quickly serving thirsty guests who quickly down tasty daiquiris. He also acts as a bit of a concierge recommending places to visit and restaurants to patrons at the bar. The beach is also well maintained with warm, calm waters. The valets were also a great resource for restaurants as the hotel doesn’t have a concierge. They were much better informed and more helpful than the front desk staff. The not so great: everyone should know that the hotel is right next to the airport. Light sleepers will struggle with late night and early morning planes taking off and landing. Also, the hotel industry is having trouble finding staff these days and you can feel the impact on the housekeeping department. They consistently cleaned our room around 6pm and completely missed our room on four out of ten days. They need more housekeeping staff and better training. The food at the property is mediocre and overpriced. I’d skip it entirely. They would benefit by adding a few local dishes to the menu. Overall: Good place to stay if you’re looking for a few fun days at the beach and pool. Skip it if you’re looking for local culture or if you’re a light sleeper.

The staff were all very nice and helpful- they even had to climb onto the kitchen roof to fetch my son’s iPhone which fell from our 9th floor balcony and survived. The room was nice and the elevators very fast. We had no issues and were comfortable. We had a great view from our waterfront room. As others have written the food in the restaurant is just average so we only ate onsite once.
