The hotel is wonderful,, but the staff is even better. Specially. Miguel. He was very professional, and helpful. He makes sure you feel welcome and go beyond to answer any questions you have about the island. Just a pleasure.

I chose this resort as a result of a blog written by Rachelle Chapman who is a young woman in a wheelchair. Though I am still mobile, I have mobility challenges - I cannot walk far and struggle with stairs and sidewalks. Rachelle recommended this hotel for its excellent access and she was right! There are no stairs anywhere in the resort - not to access the beach or the pool. I chose an accessible room with a walk in shower (room 518). The pool has to pool lifts. As a result of these wonderful amenities many of my usual anxieties evaporated soon after arriving and made a huge difference to my enjoyment of my vacation. Here is more detail: Food: We ate at the restaurant, bar and pool side. All portions were very generous and tasty. Consistently good. Staff: Friendly and very helpful. Room: Very comfy firm King mattress. Microwave and fridge. Bit noisy due to event space nearby. Walk in shower was lovely to use but the glass wall only goes half way so water gets everywhere and a slippery floor is not a good thing! The toilet was good, will a pull down bar next to it. However I don't know who decided on the placement of the toilet paper = behind and very near the floor where I could not reach it at all and would have to spin away from the bar. Not good. That needs revision. See photos. Gift shop: Avoid! Extremely overpriced. We bought sun tan spray, bug spray and a few chocs and it came to $57! Beach: Lovely. I usually struggle walking on sand but this beach sand was firm and easy and the beach is narrow so not a long walk to the water. Plenty of loungers and umbrellas. The loungers were too low for me so I just lay on two. The sea was a bit rough so I could only go in up to my knees. But its pristine and gorgeous. So much nicer than Mexico for example. Pool: Really nice. There are stairs into the pool with good railings. I wanted to try the pool lift as I never have. It seems they are not used often cos the hotel staffer though lovely and kind, struggled to figure it out. At one point I was suspended int he pool with my boyfriend and a random kind guest holding up the chair so my head was above water! Then we realized the pipe by the base had to be connected to water source to power it. I would recommend the hotel test the chairs and train staff and maybe rather invest in battery operated lift that the disabled person can operate themselves rather having to depend on someone outside the pool. Independence is super important to people like me. Cleanliness: Excellent. And very Covid aware...in fact Puerto Rico is the most compliant Covid destination ever!! WE needed our vaccination proof to get into a movie, food court etc...and everyone wears masks all the time. Location: There is nothing good within walking distance - a mile away are a few stores but it seems other places like Marriott Condado is near more amenities. We ubered everywhere and it was not a problem. Noise: Our room overlooked the events space so there was a wedding and 15th birthday which was loud but it shut down at 10pm. You do hear planes all the time from the airport, but it didn't bother us AT ALL. All in all I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this resort esp. if you have any physical disabilities. Feel free to message me with questions.

The beach was amazing-clean And gentle waters that were easy to float around in. Nice pool area and nice big clean rooms with ocean view! We ordered room service breakfast two times and it was delicious the menu at the bar was also good I would like to see some different choices at the main restaurant in the lobby- we didn’t like our meal there (Which is why I didn’t give it five stars) but that may have been a fluke because everything Else about this hotel was great! Location was good also an easy drive to old town San Juan and to El Yunque.

To begin note that this review is not for the hotel itself but rather for the Picante bar and food. I have been coming to this hotel for years -twice and sometimes three times per year and usually get very good service at all the bars and restaurants. it seems that the Covid pandemic has taken it’s toll on customer service as well as food prep. bartenders and waiters at the picante lounge are rude and don’t seem to care at all about customer service. food orders were wrong and they were fairly easy dishes but they still manage to mess up. For example we ordered the red snapper dish and they brought out chicken. how can one mix that up - it’s ridiculous. We asked for sauce on the side and it was splattered like a ski slope. no apologies the waiters’ response was oh OK. The hotel clearly needs to get people who care about their customers and not take advantage of the fact that they are there. Very disappointed and will not be coming to this bar again. i’m not even certain I will be coming back to this hotel if they can’t get their act together.

So many mixed reviews. It's what you make of it. We had a great time! Had ocean view with balcony. Sure the rooms are a little outdated, but we weren't in there all day. Food was great. Can't beat the $16 breakfast buffet! There are good walkable cafes nearby or uber ride to other restaurants too. You have to remember you're on island time when it comes to service. Everyone was super nice. Drinks are yummy inside and outside. Beach chairs and umbrellas are complimentary. Never have to fight for a chair at both beach and pool. The beach is clean and sand is soft. I only got eaten by the No see ums. They have complimentary bug spray for that. Workout room is fairly large. Loved Puerto Rico!
