My wife loves hot springs and was determined to give this place a try. We stayed for 2 nights. The Ice Cave is interesting--I've never seen anything like it. The whole building stays at 27 degrees F year-round. We also saw a moose come on-site to feed in the ice-skating pond (it was July so no ice). The hot spring... More

The drive from Fairbanks to Chena Hot Springs itself is pure entertainment and worth the effort. The views are pure Alaskan and very enjoyable. The resort itself is amazing. They grow their own vegetables so the food is very fresh. We enjoyed out lunch and walking around the place. We were unprepared to use the hot springs but when we... More

If you are coming for a lush resort, lower your expectations. It's not about luxury rooms or a fancy property. It's about the springs. It's a very, very basic hotel. The springs are in a very natural setting surrounded by rocks. In the winter, it's an awesome experience with everything covered in ice and immense amounts of steam emanating from... More

Very different place.I interesting. Came to see the Ice museum. Was pretty but was expecting something different. Would have liked to hear from the Ice carvers. Hot springs look interesting. Pretty gardens. Helpfu ll staff.

We took the drive out to the springs while spending 2 days in Fairbanks to spend the late afternoon in the springs. The springs were warm and relaxing and the resort seemed nice. Like some of the other reviews state the locker rooms could use a little renovation and TLC but it didn't take anything away from the visit. We... More

Although my stay at Chena was just for a quick weekend, it was a weekend to remember. I still reminisce about how rejuvenating and relaxed I felt while soaking in the hot springs. Even though it was chilly outside (only about 10 degrees when I was there) I was warm and comfy in the hot springs. The trip was wonderful... More

Once you arrive in Fairbanks, Chena Hot Springs is a natural place to visit and take in the wonderful surroundings in the warm spring waters. If your lucky enough to get there at the right time, it's also a perfect place to view the Northern Lights as you relax in the springs.

I loved it here, the room was ok, nothing great, but the atmosphere is wonderful. Wish there were more places to eat on the property. The food was good in the restaurant. We hiked up the mountain, that was amazing. The hot springs were great, the walk to hot springs smelled like wet dog, not sure why, but once you... More

The journey to Chena passed some lovely scenery, and I have no doubt from looking at some other photos online that this would be lovely in the winter time when there is snow on the ground, however it was a bit of a disappointment in the middle of summer.

We stopped in for an evening on our trip to Alaska. Really nice drive to the resort at the end of the road. Since it was the day before summer solstice it was light our during our entire visit from about 8-11PM. So strange and fun. The hot springs were very relaxing and clean. We had a great time floating... More
