Had been to an event at Millfield and was looking for a nice cosy pub for lunch and a beer or two, noticed the sign saying food all day and the building looked ok,we did have 2 small well behaved dogs with us but the sign clearly says no dogs in bar,so we respect that even though this is a pub...

My husband and I have visited The Travellers Rest twice and really enjoyed both occasions. Our first visit was on a Sunday, we hadn't booked but we're able to get a table straight away. The staff were very friendly, providing a quick service and great tasting food. The second visit was with our dog after we had been on a...

Thank you for taking the time to review. Unfortunately I am sure you have muddled us with another Travellers Rest as we do not allow dogs in the bar and, although we have an open fire, this is not next to a long seating area.

We took friends to this pub for sunday lunch. We ordered small roasts @ £9 each. The pork and beef were ok. The roast potatoes were hard, the veg was boring - floppy courgettes, carrot sticks, broccoli and tasteless gravy. The waitresses were lovely. The cost of the meal was disproportionate to the amount and quality of the food. Never...

We are sorry to read your comments regarding our Sunday lunch and would point out that our small roasts are charged at £7.50. We are very often complimented on our roast lunches and see a lot of regular customers on Sundays many of whom say the portion sizes are too large. We would have preferred you to draw our attention...

The two rooms are right on top of a very busy a road, which woke me several times in the night. The room was smallish but nice and clean enough. Staff were friendly and breakfast was good but my sleep quality was terrible- some sound insulation is required.

The food and hospitality are good. However, it close too often during daytime hours. You only know by an open or closed sign outside. I have planned to stop there for lunch only to find it closed. It sells local ciders to drink in or to take away. When open though a good country pub with good food. Offers b&b...

If you want over priced frozen food, then this is the place for you. Very disappointed. Iceland is better. 1 happy staff member and 1 miserable The place was empty on a Saturday evening, only stopped as on the way home, wish I had gone to a fast food place

Fantastic food at a great price. Very good menu to choose from with an excellent allergy guide that should be compulsory everywhere and despite my regular visits to restaraunts almost daily is the first time I have come across it, A very welcome find. Friendly welcoming staff and a great selection of beers. The venue isn't that inviting, However this...

Looks nothing from the outside but what a lovely surprise when you enter inside! A friendly welcome is indeed given. Cozy, warming, with a nice dinning area or you can sit in the bar and have your meal. A small but well cooked menu, fish pie, faggots, shepherds pie, and my favourite rabbit stew but to name just a few....

Impromptu stop on the way back after a day at the beach and watching Yeovil air show. We enjoyed a lovely cream tea in the beautiful gardens, and chatted to the locals. A really friendly pub serving lots of real ales. They also show sky sports in the bar area. Definitely worth a stop if you're passing - with lots...

We visited on a weekday lunchtime. The pub next to a busy road looked welcoming from the outside nice flowers around the premises. We received a friendly greeting and duly chose from the wide selection on the reasonably priced menu. There was also a wide selection of beers and ciders available. Food was good pub food and the landlord (...
