Been coming here for over 12 years, and always recommended the commodore as a value for money place to stay. We found on our latest visit that recent changes have reduced its appeal. A cooked breakfast is a necessity for a good old fashioned English seaside break, and would in the past have seen you through till teatime. the continental breakfast on offer was poor value and left you wanting more. Surely it could be brought back in the school holidays at least. The refurbishment has meant the hotel has lost much of its character and atmosphere. On the plus side, the meals were as good as ever, and the staff including Nathan, jess and the old manager who now works in the kitchen, are a great asset and work so hard. As do the housekeeping staff.

Quiet location, recently refurbished, very good value and great meals.Dog friendly and just over a minor road to the beach.2.5 miles on old toll road( no longer a toll to pay) to western super- mare. Just be careful as it is narrow and a bit of a rat run.

We had booked another hotel in Western Super Mare but it was cancelled by the hotel a few days before we were due to go , so saw this one which was dearer but it looked ok. Unfortunately for the money we paid £85 per room it was poor value for money. The rooms and in fact the hotel was in need of an update, and one of the rooms we given had a really bad smell ans should never have been given. The room was changed and the excuse given was, that it had had a new floor and that it was the glue that was causing the smell , but surly the cleaners or management should have been aware of this issue and sealed the room off, but the following morning the door to this room was left opem by the cleaners and the smell ingressed into the hallway whuch we had to endure. We reported this and was told it was done to try and clear the smell, but in the meantime other guests had to put up with it. The continental breakfast was poor , very little choice , in fact it is one of the worst i have ever had,the coffee eas luke warm and was disgusting, we enquired about a full English breakfast and was told it was an Extra £5 each , which i found unacceptable bearing in mind what we had paid , surly at £85 a room they could afford to do this. There were little staff around, amd only really saw any in the morning when the cleaners were about. The dining area was more like a cheap cafe, there was not a member of staff on duty , or not that we saw the rooms were very dated, and the hotel was very poor value for money. It is certainley one hotel I will not be revisiting.A very overpriced budget hotel .

we have been staying at this hotel for over 9 years , and we wont be going back , due to the new manager , he was obnoxious and rude , vile man , booked nearly a year ago with a full english breakfast , when we arrived we were told that it was just a continental breakfast , and that we would have to pay an extra £4.95 per person for a cooked breakfast , which was simply a rip off , however we did get our breakfast included in our price , due to myself by keeping the booking information , we were told that after next week , they will be no longer cooking full breakfasts . we have had some great breaks at the hotel with the old manger being very friendly , unlike the new manager , horrible little man , with his attitude and no full breakfasts , i expect many of the regular customers will not be going back , there are plenty of other hotels around with a better atmosphere and cheaper prices , anyway we enjoyed the airshow and we will be booking for next year at a more friendly hotel ,
