You must visit the Bar at Villa Cofresi during a stay in Rincon. The food is simple yet tasty. The big seller though is the drink El Coco Pirata. A concoction of over 4 different rums, coconut water, cream and cinnamon that will get you saying Ahoy mateys! And to add, you enjoy this drink on a deck overlooking the ocean. Perfect spot to catch the sunset.
I’ve never been here before but according to relatives who have been prior, they remodeled after Maria and made it really inviting to vacationers and locals. Food options are plentiful and the staff was very helpful. Rooms were big depending which side you got. Try to go for beach view rooms if you want the newer rooms they offer. Bathroom could’ve been done better as far as the placement of the sink and shower (the edge of the sink is literally going into the shower and the shower is only partially covered by glass and allows for water to puddle on the bathroom floor). The beach is small and rocky in the shallows, but the fact that it’s not crowded or busy at all makes up for it.
My husband and I are staying here and love it. From the pool attendant, Jorge, to the restaurant staff, including Nayda, Eddie and Silvia (who helped make my husband's 50th Birthday special) to the kind Security and Front Desk staff, we couldn't have had a better vacation! Our room is oceanfront, spacious and spotless and love how safe and clean everything is. All Covid precautions are in place which is much appreciated, also. Villa Cofresi, don't want to leave and can't wait to return!
This is a relatively small (well run!) family hotel where you step down from the lobby, pool and bar area onto a beautiful stretch of beach. Our room was on the second floor, with a patio all its own, in front of which was a nice sundeck and ... lots of turquoise ocean, looking right out at Desecheo Island offshore. GREAT PEOPLE THERE, TOP TO BOTTOM. Friendly, efficient, they take pride in their hotel, obviously. WE LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT THE PLACE! Great, active and fun bar area overlooking the beach, good food and drink, nice pool, clean. Special mention for Nayda (Baset? sp? sorry), the sweetheart with red-rimmed glasses who treats her job more like an opportunity to share happiness (and info re local restaurants etc) than ... a job. I hope that I got her name right, I scribbled it on a magazine after asking for it, can't read my own handwriting. Great person to be in customer service anywhere, smiling, friendly. Also special mention to Eddie, who we understand has been there for a long time, and who takes as much delight in his job and the hotel as Nayda does. This is a great little hotel. Clean. Good A/C. Central (minutes to "downtown" Rincon and coast locations in both directions.…
Staff was friendly, parking was monitored, and everything was being sanitized (including our luggage when we arrived) consistently. The rooms were comfortable and the location convenient (we had a car so we weren't trying to walk into town). It's right on a narrow strip of beach, and the view from the sunset deck was beautiful. We didn't end up eating there, but the restaurant was full (social distancing between table was in place) when we returned in the evening! It was clearly popular.
