Auas Safari Lodge is nestled in an expanse of African savannah in the shadow of the Auas mountains. Less than an hour away from the Windhoek international airport Auas Safari lodge lies in an unspoiled wilderness far removed from the trappings of city life. Waterbuck, kudu, impala, eland, zebra, black & blue wildebeest, oryx, springbuck and many of the smaller antelope species roam the Auas savannah.

We stayed for 2 nights as a family outing to just get out off Windhoek (during "lockdown"). Nice setting, friendly staff and excellent dinner. The breakfast was also a highlight, as fresh fruit salad and other "specials" were served. However, the 2nd nights breakfast was less impressive (no croissants, no fruit yoghurt). We did not do any payable activities, but a long walk. The rooms, especially the bathrooms, are 80s style and could do with some improvement. The fire place in every room was a nice touch during the cold winter nights.

Our running group spent one night at Auas Safari Lodge. The staff was extremely friendly and went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Lots os personal touches like cake and tea/coffee in the afternoon and special recipe droë wors on the game drive. I was most impressed that they were willing to accommodate the dietary choices of a vegan, diabetic and gluten sensitive person on very short notice.

Having arrived in the early afternoon and driving ourselves, we wanted a lodge close to the airport and Auas was perfect, at just an hours drive away.

The lodge was very quiet when we were there and it provided a very personal experience.

The room was large and very comfortable, although the bathroom it was a bit dated but still suitable.

The meals provided were excellent and the outlook from the dining area was most pleasant overlooking a small waterhole with a few animals coming to drink and plenty of birds.

The game drives were good and we did see many of the antelope that are in the park. One game drive would probably be sufficient.

There is cell phone coverage and the wifi was free and fast.

Spent a lovely weekend at Auas Safari Lodge outside Windhoek. Frieda the manager and her team were very hospitable and extremely kind. We had the best rest and it honestly felt like I was at home. Definitely a must go place to go to for relaxation , great food, amazing views, a kind face to speak about the safari, and please try their Auas sunset mocktail- its the best.

I had the pleasure of staying here briefly while on a business trip. I was very impressed by the peaceful surroundings and extremely polite staff. The rooms are comfortable, well sized and have everything you need. I was lucky enough to go on a game drive and was really pleased to see a good variety of animals and hear the guides talk so knowledgeably about the local plants and animals. They even set up a picnic breakfast with tea and coffee during the drive! Overall the lodge has a very tranquil atmosphere and I would be happy to stay here again.

My husband and I took our 13 and 14 year old grandchildren to Namibia and South Africa.

We booked two nights at Auas Game Lodge because it was close to the Windhoek airport. After our first day, we all decided to just stay put as we were all enjoying ourselves so much.

The setting was beautiful. There had been good rain, so the countryside was greener than usual. We walked a lot, and the kids learned how to drive quad bikes. We saw many animals on a game drive - the favourite was the herd of giraffes.

We had adjoining rooms which were cool and comfortable, in a thatched building.

The food was delicious - the kids thought the oryx steak was the best. There were lots of choices at breakfast, about half a dozen choices at lunch, and dinner was set. Some of the vegetables came from the large vegetable garden, all covered in net, and with an impressive series of compost bins that I plan to copy.

There are facilities for small conferences, and it is becoming popular for weddings.

Most important was the happy atmosphere. Staff and management were friendly and helpful.

Very friendly owners, great design, nice gastronomic experience, cozy rooms with fireplace. Close to the capital. It was so sweet to get there right after the airport instead of spending night in Windhoek.
Highly recommended!! We have just enjoyed.

A friend and I booked for lunch and an afternoon game drive. Our lunch was very well prepared, and we had a lovely afternoon sitting on the terrace, soaking in the view and talking. The meercat orphan the owners were raising was a delight and a big plus. Our game drive was very worthwhile, and we saw almost everything there was to see, including a very large herd of blue wildebeest and the nearly twenty giraffe. It's an easy drive from Windhoek, but feels a world away. We didn't stay overnight, but the rooms and other facilities looked quite nice.

We stayed here on our way back to the airport. It’s a nice lodge, clean, with a waterhole at which we saw ostriches and the usual antelope species. The pool was really nice and the evening meal good too. That it’s so close to the airport is a real bonus.
