I highly recommend The Chateau de Palaja for a romantic journey. We stayed with my boyfriend for a couple of days and we loved the cosy bedroom, the charming staff always at your disposal and the French breakfast ! The whole place is a paradise where you feel good and in holiday as soon as you step in the residence....

We had a short break here and loved every minute of it - what a perfect treat - the rooms are really comfortable - the bed was the best I've ever slept on anywhere (including my own one!). Breakfast wonderful. But most of all the owner is helpful, friendly, could not do enough for us. We thank you for making...

We knew after a week on a canal boat we'd need some comfort, and the reviews were appealing. So glad we stayed here! If only it could have been longer, but we were at the end of several weeks and had a long drive ahead. The room, high up, was perfect, and lacked nothing. Families in the garden, sounds of...

We booked directly with Catherine Remy. As said in other reviews she speaks perfect English but allowed me to make the best of my rough French which was fun. We were able to request a specific room and the website does a good job of representing what is available. Our room was peaceful and the bed comfy. Breakfast was an...

We stayed in a junior suite and it was huge and very comfortable. The hotel is situated in a quiet and peaceful green enclave and is far removed from the tourist throng of Carcassone. Our young-ish children had a grassed area to run around in and chickens to look at. The continental breakfast was just right for us and we...

A few miles away from La Cité, but away from the madness of this tourist destination where we weren't sure about what was real and what wasn't, Chateau de Palaja IS the real deal and a calm oasis. A real French chateau experience with the building lovingly and sympathetically restored by the owners. Our welcome was warm and our room...

We spent one night at the Chateau de Palaja, in a small village about 6 km outside of Carcassonne, while visiting the Cite and the area. It is an oasis of calm and quiet after the crowds of tourists that pack the old city. Our room was spacious and the bed divine. The attached restaurant is excellent (reservations recommended, as...

The family room was spacious, well appointed and very comfortable. The breakfast was served in a sunlit room with a good variety of food options. The staff were attentive and extremely friendly. Unfortunately, we did not have the opportunity to take advantage of the pool as we arrived quite late. Our dusk visit of Carcassonne was perfect. We dined in...

Old world charm in a fantastic and beautiful setting. Sandra, our host could not have been nicer. The rooms were charming, cozy and clean. Thoughtful attention to detail everywhere you look. The grounds are very inviting. Everything about this place is wonderful.
