Lovely welcome with friendly helpful staff. Our dog was welcomed and our room was just right. The food served was excellent. We walked directly out from the hotel and had a great day along the river and Offers Dyke. Returning to a log fire and cosy drink.

Excellent pub, with panoramic views of the truly beautiful Monmouthshire countryside. A warm, relaxing, welcoming atmosphere, exceedingly good food and the service was wonderful. Lovely garden for children to play in too. Everything about our Sunday afternoon was enjoyable. My family and I will definitely be returning. A great find and somewhere that highlights everything that is good and special...

Started to wonder where I was going . In the back of beyond . But when arrived very pleasantly surprised. Walked in and ordered a drink and the bar staff very attentive. Went and sat by the wood burning stove on a very nice three seater sofa . When my partner arrived we went and had an amazing dinner and...

What a disappointment ! Dismal pub despite still having some Christmas decs up in February. Pleasant but incompetent waiter served gin and tonics without ice or lemon in tumblers which he held by the rim. Just poured out the expensive wine without giving us a chance to taste it. During coffee asked us if we wanted the bill - obviously...

Excellent meal and service. I would highly recommend this charming establishment. All courses were delicious. I have eaten in local Michelin restaurants and The Inn is as good in my opinion . I am looking forward to returning in the Spring and Summer months as the view is stunning

Coming from the North of England, this part of Wales was a bit of a mystery to us...but that's something we intend to change. Because now that we've discovered The Inn at Penallt, there's every reason to return. We stayed for two nights (December 3rd and 4th, 2016) and simply can't fault it. Off the beaten track Penallt may be,...

Me and my partner visited for a Sunday lunch as we were in the area. The meat was fine, but for £16.95 each for one course I expected more. The roast potatoes felt and tasted like they'd been fried and a small bowl of veg between the two of us. I don't mind paying if the food is of good quality....

Had a lovely family meal after a day out . We were welcomed by a warm and inviting fire, with a great friendly ambience. Good service and delicious food. Even my picky toddler enjoyed the food. We all agreed to come again and soon .

We have visited the inn once before and while the reputation was good we always felt the interior was tired and not really of a standard that it shouted about. We had read that new ownership was in place so decided to go for my birthday treat last night. The interior is cleaner and fresher and looks far closer to...

After reading positive reviews we thought we'd give this place a go. We were extremely disappointed, for £16.99 I was expecting something grand instead all we got was bland beef, tasteless gravy, 3 old roast potatoes and a tiny pathetic bowl of veg that was boiled and looked very unappetising and I can confirm it was also tasteless. We voiced...
