Very peaceful location. We had great time in two days we stayed here. Service is awesome. Owners Sergio and Maria are very helpful, funny, they make sure everyone who stay are comfortable. Watching Sunrise early morning from the beach is unbelievable.

Our only regret is we were not able to stay longer! This hotel is a wonderful slice of paradise. It is set on a stunning, very untouched stretch of the Colombian Caribbean coastline in spacious beautiful gardens. There are beach loungers on the sandy beach from which you can enjoy the coastal views but the sea is on the rougher side for swimming here. However there is a large very nice heated swimming pool (with more loungers) you can safely swim instead. Our room was huge, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The shower had hot water which was not something we found often in Colombia! Staff were extremely welcoming and friendly and a special mention goes to Freddo who looked after us so very well. The food the hotel offers in its little restaurant is absolutely delicious! We had a very memorable dinner in the garden and breakfast was also excellent. The free filtered drinking water machine to refill your own bottles was a nice touch. We would love to return here some day.

This is our third visit to La Mar de Bien. We love this place. Very tranquil. This is where we come to relax. The grounds are stunning. The pool is very nice. Private beach. We can hear the ocean whiel we sleep. During this trip, the hotel arranged for us to get massages on the beach. The massages were excellent and cost much less than in the US. The food at La Mar de Bien is excellent. We particularly love the breakfast (my favorite is the arepas with eggs). The fruit juices are amazing. Two of the people in our party are vegetarians and La Mar de Bien had plenty of options for them. Sergio and Dianna are great hosts. While we stayed at La Mar de Bien, we did a great tour that was a hike to a cacao farm in the mountains, had a tour of the farm and had lunch at the farm – the name of the tour is Mirador Piedra Blanca (see Trip Advisor). We also did a day hike to a waterfall near Guachaca. The hotel is also near Parque Tayrona, Ciudad Perdida and Quebrada Valencia. If you want to relax at a beautiful location, stay here.

We have just returned from Colombia, spending our last four nights at La Mar de Bien. We are so glad we did! Our time at this small, boutique hotel went far too quickly; we were treated to professional, kind and friendly service at all points of our stay. La Mar de Bien is brilliantly located if you wish to visit Tayrona National Park and/or go tubing on Rio Don Diego (other tours can also be booked via the hotel) - we did both and returned happy in the knowledge we were coming back to a clean, comfortable room with AC (we stayed in the detached bungalow) and a really lovely swimming pool which is just long enough for laps. The honesty bar worked really well and the food - at all points of the day- was delicious. Thank you to everyone at La Mar de Bien for such a lovely stay, we felt very welcome. Celia and David.

My family and I just spent 4 soul-nourishing days at this oasis by the sea. Delicious food, beautiful surroundings, and the constant sound of rolling waves at the sea is what you will find. Our host was gracious and attentive and made us feel as if we were in our own home. Please don't change a thing before I come back again and again.

I have seen this place before, in my dreams. Shhh, let’s keep it a secret. A beautifully designed beach hotel of seven airy, terraced rooms, this is the retirement project of owners Diana and Sergio, a lawyer and architect from Bogota. My partner and and spent three days in this little paradise. It is at once luxurious and simple, you go to sleep with the sound of the ocean and awake to birdsong. The wild beach is stunning. The pool is long enough to do some laps, and crystal clear. The food is excellent. The staff is warm and attentive. I very much enjoyed talking with Diana and Sergio, fell in love with their chocolate lab, Dona, and with the entire place. When can I come back?

An absolute gem of a find . I cannot recommend this place highly enough it is the epitome of relaxed in beautiful surroundings, beach front with a beautiful pool area . The accommodation is spotless comfortable and well appointed. The hotels biggest asset is the staff . The customer service is exceptional better than 5 * iv stayed . Friendly attentive always with a smile they cannot do enough for you but in no way intrusive. The next biggest asset is the foundation local produce presented beautifully only matched by the taste by far the best iv had in Colombia. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. While relaxed their is a host of excursions to suit every taste and budget . The most exerting activity we took part in was a massage on the beach ; I can highly recommend the chocolate and coffee herbal rub and massage . Our only regret is we didn’t find it earlier Book a trip you will not regret it

We spent 5 nights in 2018 and did not regret it. We had a rental car which is absolutely necessary (in my opinion) to travel around that place. Sergio was friendly and hospitable and took very well care of us. Even when he was not around one day, he talked through the phone with me to ensure everything was ok. Best food during our Columbia trip - I hope for all guests that great cook is still there. Great pool and very quiet place. Do not go there in case you want to meet up, have party, etc. Beach is nice, but swimming is dangerous due to currents. We felt like we were the only guests all day having pool and beach for ourselves - like a private place! Great! So I recommended the place to a friend who unfortunaltely had a bad experience in 2019... so make sure Sergio is around during your stay before booking ;)

We chose this hotel because of the positive reviews We were not disappointed. Monica arranged all things we wanted including a free tour cancelation when I was a bit sick. This is a great spot for the Parque Tayrona excursion, fifteen minutes by bus and you are at the entrance. Meals are very tasteful and there is a broad choice. We had a very spacious room with a balcony over two sides of the building. The beach bar is always open and it was a pleasure having a chat with Yason. Highly recomnended!

Best place ever stay in Colombia ,very frendly staff . Very close to Carribean Sea .Good food in restourant .Very clean. Close to Tyrona National Park ,close to Minca and Sierra Nevada Mts. Close to Santa Marta. Very safe. The owner Don Sergio ,and his wife and recepcjonist Samanta and Monica ,make the stay amazing and unforgetable.
