Returning to this lovely village pub I was again surprised at the skill and efficiency of the staff at serving up a top class faultless meal. Beer was superb. The menu looked like ordinary pub fare but the plate told a different story.Superb duck breast and snake and snail pie. Even the ice cream was a cut above the ordinary.Keep... More

This is not the first time that we have eaten here and we always receive a warm welcome on our return. As well as the main menu there is a separate gluten free menu. The food is good wholesome pub food and plenty of it which is what we needed after a long day!! A typical country pub atmosphere.

If you want 5* accommodation without character don't stay here. If you want to stay in an amazing 15th century pub without a straight wall or floor with staff who were amazingly helpful with a good English breakfast then this is the place for you. Good food. Friendly staff , loads of character

I have been a former fan of this pub but went there today with 2 girlfriends and had a very poor meal. I ordered fish and chips and the fish was overlooked so batter dark brown it was a tiny piece of fish. I mentioned it to the staff. Comment "I have noted your comments". No sorry or have a... More

We stayed one night here which was enough. The landlord was friendly but too busy to deal with us and although the bar area was OK and the range of drinks was good, the food was very average and the accommodation poor. The pub is a C16th inn and we realise that comes with limitations, but our room had glass... More

Having cycled part of the Forest Way we decided to stop at the Crown Inn for lunch. Newly refurbished and with lovely staff we sat in the bar with our labrador. The wood fire was blazing and the leek and potato soup in a cob loaf was tasty and hot! Just what we needed to carry on on our journey:-)

The owners could not have been more helpful and I really enjoyed my night at the Crown and breakfast the following morning. Mine was a last minute booking to attend a wedding in the area, but had I known how lovely the Crown and surrounding area were, I would have booked the previous night to enjoy what looked to be... My wife and I stayed for one night for a recent nearby family party. Beautiful 16th Century Inn with nice accommodation. Good range of beers and wine, and a really nice varied menu. Food sourced locally and really tasty. Full marks to the kitchen staff. Landlord really friendly and helpful; couldn't do enough to make our stay really enjoyable. Only... More

traveling through Kent we came by this little pub with lot of history and a very friendly owner, good to get away from big hotels and feel the good of an old inn ....only problem were the weird "paranormal activities" ????? caused by a ghost????????? good food too!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I booked all of the rooms at The Crown Inn for a weekend at the end of July. The food was not great, and the rooms weren't much better. The door to my room was poorly boxed in with plywood and the window didn't shut. The random furnishings were rather tatty, and didn't live up to the wonderful exterior of... More
