Booked a table (which we thoroughly recommend - it's a popular place!) and we felt right at home as soon as we stepped in. Very friendly and efficient service- the food is amazing! Set within a picturesque surroundings this really is the perfect place to unwind and enjoy some good food. Can't wait to return! Dessert was amazing too!

Four of us visited the Crown Inn for a Friday lunch in July, prior to a visit to Groombridge Place. We enjoyed a good lunch from the varied menu, which was nicely cooked with good portions - including duck breast, fish and chips, steak burger and pasta. This is a 'good old English' pub in a village setting, with quality...

Thanks to the lovely staff who made us very welcome. My wife and I just wanted a quick snack at lunch and after a small mix up over the order - happily enjoyed three hours with friends whilst the kids played in the beer garden. The staff couldn't have been more polite (and apologetic over the error.) The pub itself...

Not a full on review as I have yet to eat here, although the menu always looks terrific and the dining room looks beautifully traditional English pub. It's round the corner from me and a beautiful real English pub where you sit either inside or out on the grass bank watching the world go by - beers include my favourite...

Well kept Larkins and Harvey's. Sit in or out. Recommended. Food also looked good and has a good reputation. I will be going back. Outside is best with a view of the church and houses around the green so if the weather permits...

Returning to this lovely village pub I was again surprised at the skill and efficiency of the staff at serving up a top class faultless meal. Beer was superb. The menu looked like ordinary pub fare but the plate told a different story.Superb duck breast and snake and snail pie. Even the ice cream was a cut above the ordinary.Keep...

This is not the first time that we have eaten here and we always receive a warm welcome on our return. As well as the main menu there is a separate gluten free menu. The food is good wholesome pub food and plenty of it which is what we needed after a long day!! A typical country pub atmosphere.

If you want 5* accommodation without character don't stay here. If you want to stay in an amazing 15th century pub without a straight wall or floor with staff who were amazingly helpful with a good English breakfast then this is the place for you. Good food. Friendly staff , loads of character

We stayed one night here which was enough. The landlord was friendly but too busy to deal with us and although the bar area was OK and the range of drinks was good, the food was very average and the accommodation poor. The pub is a C16th inn and we realise that comes with limitations, but our room had glass...
