We drove from Vancouver to Campbell river but I imagine that the bus/ coach journey would be relatively similar. The roads are good and once you get past Courtney there is very little traffic. Lovely scenery all the way.

We've had guests forgo the whale watching to focus on bears but the majority do combine the 2 activities while at the lodge so either way is a good option really.
