I doubt whether there is a better place to see grizzly bears in the wild. Mixture of great encounters, varied locations, wonderful staff, reasonable accommodation, good food and very good wine make for a great wildlife experience. I would recommend three nights. If you want to add a full day marine tour then make it four but you can do... More

HOTEL’S FAVORITE REVIEW
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2016

If there is one luxury in life you should treat yourself to it is the experience of Knight Inlet Lodge. The staff are amazing. Their love for bears and the environment is obvious and they do everything in their power to ensure that their guests have a great stay and get the maximum out of their experience. It is expensive... This is our second visit to the lodge, the last time was in late June 2015 and we wanted to visit again during the salmon run. It is hard to describe seeing the grizzly bears up close swimming and hunting for salmon. Absolutely amazing to watch mothers with their cubs and sub adults all in the river. There is also... More

You fly in by Sea Plane around 10am and your adventure begins😊 No longer have you had a tour of the floating lodge and been to view your comfortable room, perhaps time for a quick coffee and snack you are off on a cruise of the estuary. From then on there are four two hour tours per day. Be it... More

We choose to go in September when the Salmon were migrating upstream. Therefore bears are concentrated along the river and we do not have to go round looking for them. Knight Inlet Lodge has several purpose built stands along the river for bear viewing and we were not disappointed. There were bears fishing, mothers with cubs and young bears play... More

This was on my bucket list and I was not disappointed. As one person in the visitor’s book said – “if I die on the plane ride home, that’s ok as the last few days would have been worth it” – and I couldn’t agree more. Seeing Bears in the wild was on my bucket list and I was not... More

Overall, this is an easy way to see plenty of brown bear in their habitat in modest comfort - at a high price. This is a slick organisation from the paperwork they send you after booking to the briefing at the Seaplane departure. You are kept busy from 7am to 9pm with tour options a day and meals. A typical... More

In just 24 hours we had the most wonderful experience... These guys have it perfected from the ground crew in Campbell River to the guides and staff at the lodge it was seamless! From the moment you arrive at the lodge everything feels calm and quiet, after a quick familiarisation you are off on your first experience... We only stayed... More

Earlier this month my husband and I visited Knight Inlet Lodge for a 'bucket list' trip of seeing grizzly bears. There were so many bears, it seemed we were part of the documentaries we had thus far only seen on TV. We were able to spend time at all 3 bear viewing stands. From solitary bears at Stand 6 to... Knight Inlet. We flew from Campbell Cove in a float plane after flying to Campbell River from Vancouver. Overnight the weather had closed in and because these planes are flown by line of sight, the pilots obviously have to see where they are going. Usually they fly at around 100 metres but today it was closer to 50 metres which... More
