Just back from a 3 night stay at the Tannery with friends, and what a great find it is. Darren, the owner has excellent communication and replies to emails very quickly. The cottage has wonderful quality furnishes, sheridan towels & beautiful bed linen. Lots of thoughtful touches like fresh strawberries & Tim Tams in the fridge, band aids & panadol...

The Tannery is an old house dating from the 1860s. It has lots of period charm and detail, but also has all the modern comforts needed for a stay. The beds are extremely comfortable, the bathroom is a combination of old and new which works really well, and the lounge, kitchen and large dining room are spacious and pleasant. There...

Stayed here one night at short notice. Owner flexible and friendly. House tastefully furnished in good combination of modern and historic style. Convenient walk to Woolies and Best and Less as we ran out of clothes due to rain, garden hose and seven year old boy (though great to get him off electronic devices!). Bed comfy. Also generous with food...

We have just returned from a weekend in Mudgee with friends. We loved staying at The Tannery because of its close proximity to everything in Mudgee, while still providing quiet accommodation in a residential street. Our dog loved the space in the back yard too. We lit fires every night to warm the little cottage and to drink our Mudgee...

This will be the place for us if we return to Mudgee (which we're already planning to do..). Three days wasn't long enough. As other travellers have noted, the provisions for breakfast and fireside wine sipping were generous. Our dog, Molly, also appreciated the generosity of the garden size (being an inner city dog used to being confined to a...

This is the perfect stay when in Mudgee. So close to everything but whisper quiet at night. We stayed in and watched a video with a log fire burning and a bottle of red which the owners had left for us (and the strawberries and Tim Tams!). Nice touch. The house is very well maintained and has all the creature...

Lovely! Only dissapointment was they promote comfy beds with luxurious linen & the bed was hard with very average pillows & linen, we even got up & went to the 2nd bedroom, but it was similar. But the cottage itself was just beautifully furnished, cosy, & had everything needed for a parents mini break.

Thanks for the feedback regarding the beds - I will change the descriptions including to note that they're firm (it's funny how some people love them firm, others such as yourselves, not. The least we can do is note that they are firm in style.) And we've just installed a fresh set of plush pillows for both beds. Very pleased...

The master room is the pick , butt both are lovely. could not get over the quality of the complimentary bottle of local wine and was even more excited about the packet of Tim Tams awaiting me in the fridge. Thanks Darren...

Thanks for your comments David - so pleased you enjoyed your stay. You're right about the master bedroom - that queen-size bed is a beauty! Glad you enjoyed the Montrose Black Shiraz (one of the best reds of the region) and the Tim Tams! Logan Wines won best cellar door experience in the Gourmet Traveller Top 50 Awards last night...
