We stayed here two nights, it’s just beautiful our host was lovely, great breakfasts. Even with the drought it’s lovely, cool summer breeze whilst having a wine on the wrap around balcony. The homestead it’s self is just gorgeous, beautiful interiors. Our room was very comfortable. It was a lovely peaceful weekend and we just loved Deigo the happy black lab.

This was our second visit to the Homestead; this time we brought two interstate friends. From the warm welcome by Sean when we arrived to when we departed three days later we all felt as though we were at home and part of the family. Delicious home cooked afternoon teas and equally delicious breakfasts were just part of our experience. Add the most comfortable beds you can imagine, the peace and quiet, the daily visits of kangaroos and the abundance of bird life and one can imagine why Mudgee Homestead is such a magical place to visit Thank you Karen and Sean.

Thank you for another wonderful stay at Mudgee Homestead. This accommodation is second to none. We have always felt so welcome and comfortable and it was great to bring along some special friends to share the experience. Karen and Shaun always go the extra mile to ensure everything is perfect. The private rooms are beautiful and have amazing beds. So lovely to sit on the veranda and watch the light change as the day draws to a close. There are also three "public" rooms where guests can relax in luxury - and enjoy a Port on the house before retiring for the evening. It is so quiet and peaceful. Breakfast the next morning is mind-boggling. Then when you get back after tripping around for the day you will find Afternoon Tea! Wow! Thank you so much for everything.

Do yourself a favour and take a couple of days exploring Mudgee or just hang out at this superb guest house. Magnificent in every way. From the greeting by Sean or Karen your wonderful hosts to afternoon tea on the veranda watching the sunset over the beautiful Mudgee countryside with kangaroos grazing on the lawns. My sisters and I only stayed only one night but will rectify this on further visits. We shared two beautifully appointed rooms with en-suite and access to the large veranda that wraps the homestead. We chose to remain in and although the dining room wasn’t open we ordered the shared platters that were left in the fridge for us to have at anytime during the evening and was ample and delicious, and accompanied by a lovely local wine. The dining, lounge and billiard room all have open fires. A well appointed library, board games and tv were available. Can’t speak highly enough about this gem.

Sitting by the fire in the lounge, perusing the library and the plentiful magazines, sipping the port or on the veranda watching the sunset with cheese and a red wine provided by the owners. We arrived to a tour of the house then a serving of cake and tea .The care and attention provided by Karen and Sean is exceptional. A delightful interesting couple running a place I wish was home. Our room was warm , stylish , quiet and comfortable, with a complimentary bottle of wine awaiting. But the fun is in sharing the rest of the house- games room, lounge, wide veranda to read in the afternoon. The sense of community engendered by sharing the common areas with the other guests was uplifting. We shared stories at breakfast and over the 4 course dinner provided one night. The location was central to the wine tasting areas. Staying here was one of the highlights of our time in Mudgee. Can’t wait to return.
