We recently had the pleasure of staying at Mudgee Homestead, located a short drive from the town centre, which was a highlight of our trip. There was eight in my party, travelling together for the first time, so I felt some anticipation not having stayed previously. Sometimes what you see is not always what you get, so I am very pleased to say that what you see on the website is exactly what you get… only BETTER!.
To explore the beautiful Mudgee region, (including cellar doors located within a few minutes’ drive), or to sit and relax in the private lounge or stunning veranda, is the most taxing decision you will need to make during your stay. The property has been very well thought out with the guests comfort in mind, with Karen and Sean residing close by, making your stay feel private but not isolated, a perfect balance.
The property itself is magnificent, perched high up on a hill that can be seen from many cellar doors, boasting spectacular views from the wrap around veranda, and containing many special period features throughout this magnificent home.
The warmth, connection and genuine hospitality Karen and Sean share is a real credit to them both, and two more well suited hosts you could not hope to find! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and were taken such good care of that it was hard to leave. Suffice to say we have already made our next booking!.

Mudgee Homestead is a perfect spot for a relaxing weekend in Mudgee. The place is gorgeous, with lovely gardens, comfortable room and delicious food.
The hosts Karen and Sean are very friendly and make you feel right at home, offering great tips on local spots to visit. Breakfast is delicious with tasty, fresh options and afternoon tea is not to be missed. We also had an evening meal on the Saturday night which was five stars.
Mudgee Homestead is a fantastic choice for a peaceful break or to explore the Mudgee area. You'll love the comfort, beauty, and welcoming hosts.
Our only complaint was only having one slice of Karen’s apple pie which was delicious!
We hope to return soon.

We recently spent four nights at the Mudgee Homestead Guesthouse and what a treat it was! Our room was spacious, and being a corner room, there were windows on two sides so it was light and airy. The bed was verycomfortable, there was tons of storage with a beautiful walk in closet and lots of good quality hangers. Water pressure in the bathroom was excellent. But most of all, the warmth and friendliness of Sean and Karen was amazing. The care that Karen took with my gluten-free requirements was unsurpassed. Breakfast was scrumptious and superb, and every afternoon there was homemade cake, with the gluten-free for me especially labeled. One evening we had the platter for two which was absolutely delicious. There was so much food that there were enough leftovers for our lunch the next day! All in all, a fabulous stay and we will definitely be back! Thank you Sean and Karen for all your warmth and hospitality. Sharon & Steve

We stayed just one night at the Mudgee Homestead Guesthouse as we passed through Mudgee. It was charming and comfortable, and Karen and Sean were very pleasant and friendly hosts.
The building itself is large with lots of different spaces available to guests in addition to your own room, whether you want to sip some wine by the fire, watch a movie, have a coffee etc. It is wrapped around by a fabulous verandah from where you have a splendid view over the valley.
The guesthouse is just off the main road so is very easy to find and accessible, close to the airport, and also to the main town which is a short and easy 10 min drive.
The breakfast is scrumptious, either hot or cold and served at a time of your choosing. It includes lots of local produce, all of which is delicious.

A huge thank you to Karen and Sean for their wonderful hospitality from the moment we arrived, to the moment we left.
The entire experience was just perfect and our group of 8 can’t believe how lucky we were to have the Homestead to ourselves.
It was truly a 6 star experience from beginning to end, the attention to detail, fresh bouquets of flowers, breakfasts, delicious local produce platters and oh my goodness, Karen's homemade cakes… just sublime!
The Homestead boasts beautifully appointed bedrooms, a grand dining room, great downstairs area and a cosy and warm lounge which is a perfect place in winter to sit around the log fire, watch the stunning sunsets and enjoy the spoils of the local vineyards with friends.
It was such a memorable break, thank you for making it so special and we look forward to visiting again soon.
Will be spreading the word far and wide!

Our stay at Mudgee Homestead Guesthouse was fabulous from start to finish. The rooms are beautifully appointed. We had a corner balcony room with with sweeping views across the large property .... stunning sunsets. Karen and Sean are exceptional hosts and made our stay nothing short of amazing. Karen's cooked breakfasts were divine, added to that her homemade preserves and compotes. Karen serves afternoon tea with one of her amazing cakes or tarts every day... this is not to be missed and sitting on the balcony enjoying the view was amazing. There is a cosy lounge/ library with a fireplace and complimentary port. In the evening we all played pool and darts in there large entertainment room. We had a brilliant stay and can't wait to go back. Huge thank you to Karen and Sean for such a warm welcome and a brilliant stay xx

We have been going to the Homestead for the past 17 years. Our friends said that it exceeded all of their expectation. Karen and Sean really went above and beyond with meals, especially the Saturday night dinner which evolved around a Christmas in July theme.

It's not often that there really is nothing to find fault with, which is the case with Mudgee Homestead. Karen and Sean are right across all aspects of this place. The afternoon tea served on the west facing verandah and the breakfasts were a particular highlight, you have to pay for these but well worth it. I would go back.
