We felt very privileged to stay in this parador. The location and the view from our room were amazing. As every parador, the interior is chic and stylish. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Dinning in the inner court was very pleasant although we felt the selection was limited if you stay here for couple of days. Parking can be challenge. We was very lucky to be able to reserve a spot in the garage. If I remember well, the costs was 20 euro per day, but it spared us a lot of hassle. Since the garage is not large, a reservation for your car during the weekend is highly recommended. Cuenca ancient city and surroundings are beautiful. It is worth to spent a few days in this beautiful parador.
Beautiful room with a view onto the hanging bridge and the old city. Appreciated the coffee machine and kettle. Sad that there is no bottle of water in the room. Everything else was just perfect - confortable bed, nice armchairs, TV (mainly spanish channels), good bathroom.
We were excited to spend our time in amazing Cuenca. However, the hotel left a terrible impression. To start with, there were some bright sides I have to mention. The interior of the hotel is very nice, especially in the restaurant area and the food was tasty too. Though, instant coffee was served for breakfast! Then, cleaning in the room is not done well - there is a lot of dust, especially on surfaces where cleaning requires additional efforts such as picture frames, bed head, air conditioner grilles, as well as unwashed mirrors with stains. The main problem is the service! We had a birthday celebration and there was no compliment from the hotel! Considering prices and the level of the hotel, it is obvious that you can at least bring a greeting card, not to mention champagne or a piece of cake, as many other hotels do! So I ordered everything by myself, indicating a specific time. Regardless, the order was brought to the room almost an hour later the agreed time, arguing that no one opened the room! Although in all other hotels, if you are not in the room, it will be opened with the staff key without a problem! Moreover, if the client mentioned that it is a birthday, he is waiting for a candle in a piece of cake! We had some issues while checking out too. The booking price in the confirmation letter we had from booking.com and the one we were asked to pay in reception was different! And it took plenty of time to solve this mistake made by the hotel!!! Therefore, it would be great for management to take such things into account in order to leave a pleasant impression of the hotel among their clients!…
Trip was in May 2019 Cuenca is a magic place and this hotel is lovely. The rooms have the convent atmosphere in a pleasant way. The whole building is spectacular. We enjoyed a great dinner with a very nice music performance in the courtyard- the eve was perfect. Cuenca is close to Madrid Not to be missed!
All Paradores are special, but the Parador de Cuenca is VERY special. It is in a beautiful location, it is very clean, the rooms are spacious, and the staff are friendly. We stayed in four different Paradores on our recent holiday, and this one was the best. The food in the restaurant is high quality, fresh and very well cooked. It's a short walk to the old town to see all the old buildings and get some lovely views. The hotel has a large and clean swimming pool.
