We arrived at approx 10pm, check in was quick and it was nice to get a safe in the room at no additional cost. Room was a large double room with a partition area leading to the kids beds. Comfy room, excellent air condition and clean and tidy. Plenty big enough for us for the week. We went to the bar area for sandwiches, which are available 10-11pm. We were told that there were none left. A chap (looked like a manager) told us he can’t make 300 sandwiches every night and he pointed us to the nearest restaurant where we spent €37 on some gyros and chips. I’d have liked to see the restaurant cater for late arrivals (we weren’t delayed) and offer some sandwiches which isn’t a lot to ask. The restaurant is clean and plenty big enough. The staff work really hard to clear tables and bring drinks, which was nice as some all inclusives make you get your own drinks. Food was the usual all inclusive fare, plenty of salad, pasta, rice, meat dishes, fruit and desserts and there were always choices for kids such as chips, chicken burgers, fish fingers etc. There is a chef who cooks some items for breakfast (omelettes and pancakes) and dinner, albeit the dinner options were generally already cooked and served from a warming tin, so may as well have been put out for self service. I’ve seen better chef run areas and also been to some places that don’t have it at all so at least they had one. The snack area again was good and food fresh, with salads, chips, chicken burgers and alike. Ice cream is available from the bars most of the day, as are the drinks. Alcohol isn’t served at the water park bar. There is a main pool and the water park. The main pool has activities such as morning exercises and water polo in the afternoon. The water park is good, with a smaller area with slides etc for toddlers and the bigger slides for older children and adults and there is also a medium sized pool there too. Sun beds are easy to locate at the water park, less so at the main pool unless you get up early. The entertainment team was a two man team, they ran the pool activities and evening shows. 8:45pm is mini disco. 9:30pm is bingo or music quiz and 10pm is the main event, mixture of dancers, comedy circus (best night), karaoke and parrots. Usual stuff which was entertaining enough. The bar is strict with an end to all inclusive drinks at 11pm, you can buy more up until midnight. Arrive by 9pm to ensure a seat. There is no shop on site but there are a couple of pool tables (€2 a game) and the hotel is a couple of minutes walk away from the main street through Ayia Napa. There are the usual supermarkets, bars, restaurants and alike. The hotel is set back far enough from the street that you wouldn’t know Ayia Napa was there. There is a large fair next to the hotel, this runs until 1am and is somewhat noisy. Didn’t bother us and our room was near to it. The beach is about a 3 minute walk away, however it’s small and rocky and troublesome to get into the sea, not ideal for young kids. A taxi to Nisi beach was €10 euros and it’s very busy but a nice Sandy beach with water sports on offer and restaurants etc. One day we walked 15 mins, turning left from the rear of the hotel, past the harbour and found a nice Sandy beach with more space and water sports. Sun beds and umbrellas are €2.50 per item on both beaches. If you go all inclusive and remain on site you shouldn’t get bored. We tend to go out a bit and there was plenty to do nearby. We took a day trip (4hrs) to swim with sea turtles, we used Blue Lagoon Cruises (Captain Marko) which was excellent and well worth the €110 for 4 of us. We also spent an evening at the large fair. This wasn’t cheap but was great fun. We spent around €130 going on several of the rides and the sling shot. The larger the rides the more tokens/euros it costs. There is a luggage room and showers for use after you’ve checked out, the area is dated but functional. Thankfully the rest of the hotel is modern, clean, tidy and well maintained. I’ve rated this hotel on it being an all inclusive and pitched it against 5 other such holidays we’ve had in other places. If you want luxurious food and branded drinks then all inclusive isn’t for you. The extra bits that I’ve seen done better elsewhere and that would’ve pushed my rating up are: Grass could do with watering, most of it is dry and burnt. Basic food being provided for late arrival items. Smarten up the luggage and shower area off reception. But more of a variation/choice of desserts. However this hotel does have pros which others don’t: UK 3 pin plug sockets. No fee for the room safe. A medium sized water park. Drink served to table for lunch and dinner. None of the extra bits (above) should put you off as they are nice to haves and overall I would recommend this hotel/holiday…
