Travelers' Choice
Spread openly on a unspoiled seashore gulf, next to the nature trail which connects Ayia Napa’s seafront from Nissi Beach to Cape Greco. Aktea is located only 2 km from Ayia Napa center with its bars, shops and restaurants. The location combines the sandy golden beaches of Sandy bay (around 200 meters away) and Nissi Beach (around 200 meters away), with the rocky formations of a virgin landscape, the privacy of seclusion with the centrality of a cosmopolitan tourist resort.

On the positives: very good location, clean, very friendly staff, €3.50 all-day cocktails at the pool bar, air conditioning worked well, shower had great water pressure. Its very quiet at night, away from the main road with all the shops & bars & traffic. Pool bar staff, especially the young guy, were fantastic. The girls who clean the tables at the restaurant are very hard-working and very very nice too. All the Covid regulations are reasonably enforced, there are sanitising stations in a few places and everyone wears masks, which was good to see. On the negatives: there is no way this is a 4* hotel (i’d say it’s an average 3*). Breakfast had no fresh juices and no fresh cooked options (like omelets or pancakes to order), everything was pre-made, diy coffee from the machine, not one day there were fresh pastries or bread. Rooms are ok, but living room beds are extremely hard and uncomfortable, i know it’s probably meant for children, but i softer mattress would be greatly appreciated by all guests i am sure. Sliding bathroom door is a joke, it isolates absolutely no sound and so noisy to open and close, it is absolutely useless design. The towels were not in good condition at all, I have taken some photos on the last day, the towels are all grey and so old, the threads are hanging off them… toiletries were most basic (only one universal body/hair wash mounted in the wall) we had better in 2• hotel in Paphos!!!

I stayed for one week. The probably only thing I have to criticize is that the fridge in my apartment was kinda loud. Staff super friendly and helpful, breakfast tasty with a huge choice, pool clean and not too full, free beach/pool towels, room clean and spacy. It's not close to the centre of Ayia Napa, making it more quiet, which I appreciate. Cocktails at the beach bar very affordable. Great value for money.

We stayed (two adults plus kids: 4 years old and 19 months old) at Aktea's for 11 days. When we arrived, we were impressed at the first sight by the front yard with trees, bushes and various vegetation. It perfectly fits for the facility like Aktea, that consist of main building with only ground floor and cottage like houses that serve for accomodation. Alleys amongs the cottages are bordered by maintained bushes, greenery, fruit and palm trees. We like such places much more than huge hotels with immense footprint with everything inside that are covering the sea sight and destroy the feeling of peace and relax. When we walked to main building, we lost our breath. It was perfectly styled inside: with blue shaded sofas, old massive wooden furniture, house plants, brass lamps on ceilings and granite tiles on the floor. The lobby itself is a place to relax for itself. The main builidng has a underground level too, but we didn't visited it except the toilets that belong to the outer swimming pools at the hotel's backyard. Way to toilets passes by saunas, inside pool and laundry. We lived in a two room apartament with a balcony, equipped kitchenette and some furniture. It had almost everything for a peaceful vacation. The room with toilet and bath was weared out, but it was nothing that would cause our eyes to cry. The window in the room was a great bonus. Only the noisy sliding door was annoying, especially at night. We were surprised with the aircondition - it was really quit and the outter units were hidden, so there were no buzzing sounds from them during night. What we missed in the apartament - one hanger to dry our swimsuits was not enough, better noise reduction from neighbouring apartments, better sealing around the door (slot between door and floor was big enough to put a little finger there). We payed all-inclusive, but it was not as limitless as I had expected to be from 4 star facility. They served no real juices, they were tank like syrups mixed with soda, mixed drinks were made by these and mixed with less knows alcoholic / coloring beverages. This was no real problem for me, because they had a decent ouzo and zivania, but I would like to have a good mixed longdrink one or two times per the vacation. They had wines and beers of several brands, surprisingly good tasting. The only disadvantage was that you can ask for the drink on the bar near the backyard pool and in limited count (per person). Wide offer of meals, fruit, sweets on breakfast, lunch and dinner, however I lack them to be more tasting. I understand, that the food has to be prepared in a way of people that are visiting Aktea the most (Russians), but more spices, herbs, juices in the meals would attract us more ! Please be more like 4 star facility, not 3 star in food. My wife during the last few days were disappointed by the food. Don't get me wrong - they had thematic days (greek day, italian day, seafood day, asiatic day, ...), they filled the missing meals instantly and staff was really caring, but after all these days she just found them tasting generally the same. As I wrote, Aktea has a great surroundings. There are many trees, bushes, greenery mixed among the cottages, the unlimited sea sight and the best thing is, that it is just 5 minutes in walking distance from Nissi beach !! Aktea is a place for families, not for drinking parties, it is not top notch, you will miss some things here (for a 4 star facility) but definitely not be disappointed. Oh, and I forgot to mention they had a small grocery / souvenir store near the bar and a playground.

Aktea is an extremely good hotel full of things to do. There is lots of entertainment that goes on which is good for children and adults. The staff at the hotel are extremely friendly. There is a kids club in the resort as well as a bar and a huge swimming pool. The rooms are very nice as well. Inside the resort there is a minimarket and you are given a voucher to receive a free towel. It is about a 5 minute walk to Nissi beach which has crystal clear waters. The food at breakfast and dinner tastes great as well. I highly recommend Aktea it is a very nice hotel and a great place for people on holiday to stay for their visits.
